Harvesting Big Timber Without Heavy Equipment

With this small scale logging operation, we can log big timber only using pickup trucks for equipment. Most of the time large logging equipment is used for logging big timber. In this case where we only have one large tree that died, it's not worth hauling equipment in to log one tree. We can get by using a Ford Ranger and a Ford F-250. The chainsaw I am using is a Stihl MS462. These logs are being loaded in my dump trailer to take to a Woodmizer LT15 sawmill to be cut into lumber and slabs. This white fir tree died this year.

I love the scene where you walk over to the stump, pause awhile for dramatic affect, and throw the small piece of that cookie over the hill! That’s funny stuff😂

I can imagine loading firewood in a trailer, delivering it and unloading. What I can't imagine is sitting here for 12 minutes along with 6500 other people watching you cutting down a tree, ripping a log and loading it... (AGAIN). You my man can captivate an audience!!! Well done sir! 😄😄

Man I wish I lived nearby I'd love to take you to lunch, you seem like the kind of guy that I enjoy hanging around with. Your videos are refreshing, straightforward and honest I miss the world of turmoil and asinine insanity, a breath of fresh air. That big one you dropped at the beginning of this video I'm guessing 170 ft? OK, *_"Keep on keepin' On"_* - as Kenny Rankin signed on my CD.

There are a few things in this life I hate as much as autocorrect that changes what I say after I watch it write it correctly, and even though I have it shut OFF! The word was "Amidst" not, "I miss"

Mind you, one can do their imagination also in a 3d CAD program (not just in their mind). Has the advantage of translating the imagination into real objects (3d printing, CNC milling etc) "via simple button clicks".

hiho. timeline 2:59 i gues one of the reasons why your squaregroundchain is made in swizerland and not in germany is that in germany stihl sells a type of chain thats called HEXA. its basicly a common squareground but with a littlebit diferend geometry. main reason might be-- its more expensive than the normal round ones and creates more money for stihl.😂😂😂 greetings from germany

The one time you could have used a portable swing blade sawmill. That log could have been milled where it fell and you would just have to haul out finished edged boards.
