Thank you Triple R Farms, for working so closely with A/U...testing/results, allow proven results. In the long run, it saves the farmer, plus reduces unneeded chemicals. Scouting crops w/ my f-i-l, Dr. William Henry Long III, (LSU, Nicholls State) farmers let LSU run test plots on corn, beans, sugar cane. My f-i-l also worked w/ chemical companies, mainly Shell to scout fields to home in on areas of the fields with threshold numbers and only spray areas needed, here again saving money for the farmer, reducing pesticide over spray. Kudos
Triple R Farms gets an “A” for science class today. (27 year high school science teacher here.). Putting the wax on the snouts to reduce the friction coefficient of the corn stalks on the fiberglass is a simple, low cost solution attempt. Yay for taking part in the scientific process for nitrogen application with Auburn University. Good job!
Good afternoon Granny. Hope all is well with you. We had about 3 days of your weather And that was enough for me . Guess you must get use to it. Have a great weekend, stay safe and cool .
Sure is nice of you to work with the university. This helps all farmers, not just Triple R. Always look forward and enjoy your videos. Educational with a little fun mixed in. You all stay safe and cool. Glad to see the boss man back.
Congratulations on a good Corn Crop this year and thanks for participating in the research project. Auburn performs a lot of really good research that benefits agriculture all over the world. Excellent video!
Daniel, check out Ivers Farms video posted today, 8/27, to see the set up they have for getting their river screen in the water. It’s a much steeper bank then yours, but it makes it really easy to get in/out! They have posts, rail with a winch & walkway. And Mr Ivers shows how he built his air bar, compressor, set up that blows all the chaff/debris off his header from a switch in the cab.
GREAT Video Daniel ! I really enjoy the "crop comparison per N rate applied" but want to know if AU had the soil differentials or soil types ?... Savana Loam vs. what ever else there is in that area/region... Mark has the grain cart dialed in! Hi Granny, I hope the Cafe did not close permanently and you and your besties where able to hang out today! Have a good weekend!
Hey Daniel I have been watching your videos and they have been getting me through some hard times. I have been been sick and not able to go to work. I really love the videos. I think a got my wife hooked now. 😂 I have noticed one thing way aren't you guys running a 9 series john deere tractor? Keep up the good work. Love the videos. You have a great crew.
That Lucas spray wax is good stuff. I’ve used several gallons of that stuff on bass boats through the years…….great idea! Thanks again for another awesome video fellas!
I can not explain how or why a California Duster really does a fantastic job on harvest windshields but it is fast and easy to use. I always cleaned all the windows at the end of the day(yes I was very tired but in the morning all the windows were clean as the dew had not set the dust). I bought mine at Walmart. I appreciate your videos.
You know a good feature Case should incorporate is a blower blowing down from the edge of the cab onto the windows to keep dust away. You’re welcome Case.👍😎
It seems like the solution your dad had for the header is working. Very interesting to see the scientific end of farming on test plots. Tell granny and Thomas I said hello. Your dad did an amazing job on the windows. Get Thomas to prerecord and intro sometime, he is a hoot to see. Stay safe.
you got to have a california duster and a battery leaf blower for the feeder house that I keep in the cab I used my leaf blower every day when done to blow off the whole combine to help keep it clean
It is very interesting that extra N application on not great ground doesn't give yield results. Interesting that my Daddy came to a similar conclusion back in the 60s -70s. He put extra N on the best spots at lay by, not so much on the marginal ground. That intro about how everyone contributes was special. I'm sure that the guys appreciate the shout out and their families probably appreciate it even more.
Does your grain cart have scales? That would be a good check against the yield monitor on the combine. Like you said just taking over that field your'e just starting from scratch.
I had an economics professor who could not speak clear English and it was extremely distracting. It was impossible to learn anything and the whole class failed the course, true story. He spoke spanglish. She is just a little better, not much though. She’s still distracting.
On the air compressor, is your dad flipping the bypass lever on the throttle relief valve controller ? Mine was a booger to start until i discovered the bypass. Takes the pressure of the tanks off of the engine allowing to spin over faster
hi, make an air line - wand setup, hose from compressor to steel brake line about 3 ft long with a little shut-off valve, hook it on the step then you can blow the window clean . quick and easy i am assuming the engine has a compressor on it
Can’t believe you didn’t order the drive sprocket as well. It’s likely as bad or worse than the driven one that you have. That, and the new chain isn’t going to fit properly on an old sprocket.
Daniel that sprocket is probably causing your issues…it is probably skipping teeth…not carrying the load or stress you put on it in harvest mode!! Just looking at the process like a Monday morning quarterback!! 😂😂
Man, it makes me nervous to see someone under the header like that..I lost a friend years ago, he was lubing the header up, & a hose blew, & the header fell on him & killed him..😮
I still haven’t gotten an answer for why you don’t run any grain bins? Looks like you could have grain in reserve to take advantage of increases in prices?
They have a positive basis and it is expensive to build storage. They have one of the lowest cost systems I have ever seen for drying grain and loading it back on trucks.
Austin, TX - Thursday (yesterday) was the 63rd day of triple-digit heat so far this year, and our current 7-day forecast shows that we're going to tally quite a few more.
Great video as usual, but someone that could speak plain English would have made for a better video. I thought Auburn University could have done a better Job in the language department.
I heard 98% of what she said just fine. Americans are not the only farmers around as well. We could all learn a thing or two from each other no matter the language
