That little dance you did is how I remember feeling eating loquats straight off my grandma's tree by her swimming pool ❤ Treasured family memories with this special fruit.

I bought my house in Florida with the intention of planting this tree and other fruit trees because picking fruit from trees in my grandma's backyard was one of my core childhood memories. I didn't realize until about 3 months into living here, and when one of my trees started to flower that I had a mature loquat tree already in my backyard jungle. I was stoked. I have two fruits starting to yellow, and I am just over here rubbing my hands together, licking my lips. Waiting patiently...

This reminds me of my childhood. Our neighbour had a loquat tree and we picked it over the fence.

I love loquats, I grew up with a tree in my backyard, and several of my friends and neighbors also had loquat trees in florida. I planted one at my house in Virginia last year. They will set fruit here in zone 7b/8a also.

I have childhood memories of eating Loquat, but we called it Mispa. It’s been years, but I’d love to taste one again. I literally think I’d cry of joy. Think I can grow them in a pot, zone 5?

I was gifted a loquat and grew it in a large pot for two years and planted it in the ground this past March 2019. It's about 6 plus feet tall. I would like to keep it under 10 foot tall. Have you shown how to prune the loquat before or tell me how? Do you just take the very tip off or what? I'm not much or a pruner but trying to learn. Thanks

When you get ready to prune your loquart tree, could you please video the process? I ordered a lychee tree for my mother and turned out to be a loquart tree. The tree is about 8 ft tall ,very difficult to get the fruit from the top of the tree. We live in Florida, lost most of our fruit trees during hurricane Irma.

I just found out that one of the trees in my yard is a loquat tree. I've been here for two years, but the first we my landlord did tree trimming so there was no fruit that year and I had no idea. Unfortunately the tree is SUPER tall, so I think the squirrels and birds will get most of the fruit...

I did not get any fruit on my 1 year planted loquat this year. it was about 4 feet tall when i planted it over a year ago. Possibly needs more water/fertilizer? or just more time? Didn't get any peach blossoms either this year. but tons of blueberrys and my blackberries are just starting to ripen. Could have been the intense cold snap we had in December.

I'm in London England. I planted my 2 trees in 1993 from the seed brought from Sauth Africa. They grew huge, this year Is the biggest crop I ever had. Few more days to ripen fully. Do you know any way to preserve them?

@@zsandmann im in zone 8a, southeast virginia. They will fruit here in 8a, there are some ripe at the norfolk botanical garden now, my tree is too young right now. You may want to plant it in a protected area for more reliable fruitset.

How old is your loquat tree. I have one here in Vegas. Mine is 8 years old. I love them. Loquats don’t grow true. I would be interesting to know what the fruit looks and taste like.

I live in south Texas and my three trees started to bloom in November, last last year they bloomed in December. Although when I lived in Santa Barbara county Ca. our trees fruited in the late spring to early summer so it may be the area grown? My trees fruited the 3rd or 4th year, they were grown from seed .

Do you have to striate the seeds, or freeze them, to get them to sprout,, or just place in dirt, and water?
