As always, I love your videos. You're the perfect example of, "the pretty girl next door," who can shoot it, drag it home and cook it. In addidtion to your willingness to, "get her done," you're obviously very intelligent. Our country needs many more women just like you!
as a kid in the 60's my chore was gathering the hard canning type pears and sorting out the perfect ones to wrap each one in a full sheet of newpaper and then fill losely boxes and paper bags with the wrapped pears and place in a cool dark closet,,we would have wonderful juicy sweet fresh soft table pears all the way past New Year like a fresh pick about 90days later--you can wrap and store hard green tomatoes the same and have fresh pick taste about 60days later .Looks like a Hard Hat zone under those branches !! Keep up the great DIY videos !!
Those big ones are what we always called "September" pears. Nothing better than standing under that tree and carving one up with a pocket knife. The taste of summer! Good memories. Looking forward to the canning video! Jay
Nice video. I am building a home orchard that has 3 different pear cultivars. In total there are 9 trees....2 Hood pears, 2 Flordahome pears, 1 Baldwin pear, and 4 Hosui Asian pears (what you call the jerusalem pear). I am from Florida so I am mostly familiar with citrus and some tropical fruit trees like Mangos and Avocados. I needed some info on what to do with the pears I expect to be harvesting in the next few years and your videos about pears harvesting and processing have been very helpful. Thanks for posting.
I love that little dog. Having him in the video is priceless! Pears are wonderful! The tarp technique reminds me of the time we put our 100 lb. blueberry harvest into a garbage bag hung from the rafter (drop paneling ceiling), cut a hole in the bottom and used it to dispense the blueberries into ziplock bags. First rule of survival... use whatcha got. If that includes brains, you'll survive.
Great job as always!! I wanna Thank you for all of the info and knowledge!! I have an abundance of pears here in S.C. Just picked some the day before yesterday!! I love the round ones but I never knew what there real name was until now! Thanks, ...........Jimmy........... btw hehe loved ya outakes you gotta give us more!!!!!!!!!!
I want some pears.... I'm guessing the silencer worked well ;) Your video of purifying salt water brought me here and I'm now subscribed. You're pretty smart chick. I bet your daddy is proud!
Hahahaha random cucumber. Fantastic video! I enjoyed it very much. I wonder if I can use this method on the mango trees here in FL.... Thanks for the video! :)
I'm guessing nobody else commented on your amazingly hypnotic eyes? They're... round. lul. They got a circle in a circle... ummm. I also gotta say you're one helluva woman. God bless!
we have trouble with pears. and apples. in sacramento.. not enough rain and not enough cold.. i think you need a really good cold to get a big crop out of them. we get some. but not enough to justify the water use. i think your dog might want some of those pears when they sweeten up. good job another good video
I had just passed your Videos and I noticed you have the most Beautiful Eyes I have ever seen! You are a fortunate person your eyes really could make you a living. If you had the right Photographer you could really go places, you are such a Beautiful Person!
He broke his hand pretty bad in several places. He cut the cast off a few days after braking it and hasn't stopped sense but hammering metal is probably out of the question for a little while. It's really too hot to be in the forge right now anyway so probably not till the weather turns cooler.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I pray for a quick and total recovery for his hand. I know what you mean about the weather,,,,here in S.C. it was 110 F ( with heat index) today! I'm drawing up plans for a new blacksmith shop right now but won't be able to do anything with it until cooler weather. Ok, y'all take care and thanks again.
Wow, so many pears! That is awesome. The dog that was in the shot, is that titus? Also, I love the ending. "I wanna make sure theres footage in case this thing blows up...."......LOL
I wonder if pears will grow in Ohio just North of the Ohio River? I've not seen any. Do you know what temperature they will tolerate and which they won't? I'd like to see you do some videos on starting some fruit trees from seedlings. Have you ever done this?
Not sure about the pear tolerance but I'm sue you can google it and find out. I'm about to start some moringa trees from seed and will be making videos on it
Survival HT Moringa trees are awesome, Ive been growing them for a year now. I'm so glad people are starting to find out about these, they're so good for you! They'll grow easily just about anywhere, though you may not get pods from them for those of us in the north but really its the leaves you primarily want anyway. Great vid!
Pear wood is also highly valued as a carving wood, and for making woodblocks for printing. Can you make something like "applesauce" from them?... Thanks, for all of the info!!!
cajunndaegoes They are the best tasting pear I've ever had. Lots of sweet flavor while being soft enough to eat right off the tree. Though like all pairs they are even better a day or 2 after you pick them.
@@SurvivalHT are you sure their called Jerusalem pears. I can't find them on internet to purchase. I want to very one being you say their the best pesr you have eaten. Do you know she I can buy one? If not can you send me some cuttings so I can graft? I'd not, I understand. Thank you
im a subscriber a little off topic but on one of your videos you spoke of an arthritis treatment i think that you pour into a bathtub can you please tell me what it is as a friend of mine is suffering bad from it and is unable to work because of the pain
I have a peach tree, between the ants, fruit fly's, and other bugs I don't get any peaches off the tree unless I pick them before they are ripe. do you have any natural remedies to keep the bugs off
Coffee. Put coffee grounds around the base of the tree. (Used grounds are fine) and spray the fruit with coffee. Will stop the bugs but not the birds. For birds put a hawk or owl statue near the tree
Survival HT Went to a Garlic Festival this past weekend and saw an old crow or black bird hanging from their pear tree in their garden. I wondered why they did that and supposed it was for other birds. Cool to know and will have to try it in my own garden.
