I’m the least sexist guy there is, but you literally cannot win. It’s better to not play the game at all sometimes.. it’s the only way to win lol. Truth hurts
The rule of a show is to not get the couple together. It kills the show. People get bored. The relationship either devolves into a break up or marriage and children. The best thing about this couple was the tension. The feeling of frustration you feel and the want to scream, Just throw her over your desk and make sweet love to her, already!
@@denisadellinger4543 agreed. I always lose interest in a show once the couple I’ve been rooting for gets together. Especially if it’s an enemies to lovers arc, cause all the banter and tension is gone practically
i get the point about not want the live interests to get together too soon but o definitely think the show runners dragged harvey and donna’s arc too long. when they finally got together, it seemed forced and fast. the utility the audience derived from their relationship would have been more if it was a season or 2 earlier
@@Tommy_111 exactly. She wants him to choose her love over her service. An exceptional wife ends up being way more valuable than an exceptional assistant, but she doesn't want him to choose analytically.
Sometimes it's harder to find someone who can replace someone who understands you and shares your history. Harvey and Donna both dated other people but each time it didn't work out, sometimes bc of the other's presence in their lives.
Modern people seek happiness through HAVING things, being the BEST, having [ as in owning] a woman or a man. One can't be happy when the world exits to satisfy your wishes. Giving everything to another is love. Taking everything is unhappiness.
They don't realize how many times Donna says I love you to people. She says it to Louis, and everybody and why does.It mean something different when Harvey says it
@@Figs3 maybe but it was never central to the story. Bringing something tertiary to the story can be intriguing but it should never be central. Nobody watches this show for the will they won't they, other than shippers, everyone used to watch it for 'Mike and Harvey's ability to navigate a hard, sometimes borderline impossible situations'. Ships almost always take the spotlight way from the most interesting aspect of the story to the most mediocre element of the story.
I love Donna. She is the kind of woman I want to be. Hard as nails when she needs to be, Soft and tender when she wants to be, True to herself and her values. Challenging. Fierce and loyal and true to her word. If she says she will always take care of you, she, by god, will. She loves Harvey despite knowing all his flaws and she challenges him. Here, he says he loves her, but he cannot say how he loves her. She wants him to break down all his defenses which in his nature make him a good lawyer. Will he do it for the love of her?
I know that mostly Indians watch this show. This and Friends. This isn't even a very good show which tells me it must be free in India like Euphoria on HBO.
It was her rule in the way though so I don't entirely get why, by the end, it seemed like it was because of his issues that they'd not been together the entire time.
She broke the rules with Stephen so I’m guessing she wanted to break her rules with Harvey. Plus, Harvey never cared about those rules. And she was right, Harvey had everything. He was able to string her along, have her complete devotion (personal and in business), meanwhile date and be with other women. Him telling her that “he loves her” is honestly playing with her emotions. I mean, at some point (for anyone in Donna’s position) being a consolation prize and safety net doesn’t sound appealing.
She’s gorgeous even when she’s mad!! I think men (I’m one) love the woman that speak the truth with logic and NOT with emotions. THAT’S HOW WE CHOSE OUR WIFE’S.
I've watched about 200 of these random shorts the last 2 wks. Should i just binge watch the boxset or carry on? When i get into a series it can take up most of my weekly free time. Its been a while, Karate Kid was the last one or was it the Money Heist 🤔
This episode pissed me off. Harvey saved her from going to prison and then said at the end “you know I love you Donna” then this scene the next episode she gives him shit and then leaves to go work for Louis of all people.
I love Donna too. How? idk 🤷♂️ fully lol. Character is smart sexy funny. I’d pray we’d be sexually compatible too lol competent male syndrome ..not many women can handle
Short answer: She wants Harvey. Long answer: She's been in love with him for years but suppressing it to stay his friend and colleague because she thought he didn't want her romantically, then he basically told her he loved her and refused to discuss it further. Donna finally knew Harvey loved her back the same way, and that they weren't together not because he wasn't interested, but because he was too scared. He knew she was in love with him and he wouldn't take her pain away. Even here in this scene, he tries to throw the conversation off of his cowardice by pretending she's asking for "everything" aka accusing her of being irrational and demanding, instead of just admitting he wants her and taking the plunge. He would rather make her feel selfish, or stonewall her with cold silence, than tell her he was in love with her.
@@tabithaprovan957 But she was also the one who, when they were in a relationship, declared that they were not going to date and work together at the same time, she put up the barriers D:
@@tabithaprovan957 I don't know the episode number, but it was in one of the first ones where they put flashbacks, when Harvey was leaving the prosecutor's office.
@@maialajossefina.3261 they weren't in a relationship there, they'd only slept together once. She said before she got hired that she wasn't going to sleep with coworkers, which was to protect her integrity and reputation. Harvey pushed those boundaries and seduced her as soon as he wasn't working with her anymore. Then before even asking her what she wanted or thought, he told her he wanted her to work for him again and wouldn't have slept with her if he knew it would stop her. They weren't a couple, and Donna obviously wanted to be, but he signalled loud and clear her being his secretary was more important than her being his girlfriend--Donna outright describes the whole situation to Rachel years later. She chose to stay close to him as a friend and employee because it was all he offered her. Good God, weren't you paying attention? She looked crestfallen when he said those things, and tried several times throughout the show to get him to make a claim on her and he wouldn't budge. He knew she loved him, and he knew he loved her back, and he shrunk from the subject again and again because Donna was the one and if he let her in that much she could destroy him like his mother did. Harvey was the runner, Donna was just trying to play it platonic to keep him from running away from her completely.
I’m in the minority but I can’t stand Donna. She doesn’t listen when other people talk. She always needs everything just the way she wants it. When she doesn’t get it she freaks. And she didn’t deserve that promotion!
Including myself in the minority 😁 and by the way I’m a PA and there’s no way that a PA becomes a director unless she marries the boss (not just sleep with him 😆)!! But I will admit that I loved hating her 😆
This is random but the best lady Harvey was with was Zoe. I know Scottie is his clone but that was never gonna work even if Harvey was more honest. I liked Zoe the best
