Hey peeps! Long time no see :-)
The Harz Witches Trail is a very special trail for me that I in fact now hiked for the second time. Growing up in Northern Germany, I spent lots of time with my family in the Harz forests. When I found out about "Thru Hiking" in the context of the AT many years back, I wanted to see if there's anything like it I can do in Germany. My best friend Jo and I found the Harz Witches Trail. At this time we were around 14 to 15 years old but we said "One day, we will do it". In 2020 after Covid hit, there was not much to do for us as it seemed like our lives were on hold. We decided very spontaneously to go and hike this trail. It was chaotic but wonderful. Now that my friend and I live several hundreds of kilometres apart, we still want to go on long hikes together, and which trail could be better than the one we first started dreaming about.
