I adore how the Foot Clan are just chilling out in the background doing the most hilarious things until the Turtles come into fighting range.

I feel this episode is missing a nice healthy dose of Arin being petty over Dan having more kills than him.

Ok, not enough love for Dan absolutely killing it this episode. I like seeing him be able to flex his old-school prowess like this.

A kid I babysit is obsessed with TMNT, he begs to listen to the theme song on loop on my phone (specifically my phone, not the tv, even though I can put it up there) and talks about them and play fights like them. So thanks for cursing me on my day off. I can never escape these turtles.

Effectively each turtle has had a “girlfriend” in one sense or another. Whether or not it went anywhere depends on continuity. Leonardo usually is seen crushing on Karai and Lotus Blossom (80’s series). Donatello seemed to be the only one without a true romantic interest until 2013 where he had a crush with April. Michelangelo has had several crushes involving a time traveler named Renet, one of the Nutrinos (80’s) and even a friend of Karai’s named Shinigami (2013). Raph could be the only one to have had the first on screen relationship that should have gone somewhere but didn’t. Mona Lisa was introduced in on of the original 80’s episodes and Raph flirted with her but she vanished after that one episode and they never rekindled that flame. Then, 2013 came along and he was sharing a passionate kiss with that version of Mona Lisa. I think there were several comics he shared a relationship with a fox, whether it was Archie or IDW, but that’s all I can think of in regards to him

The boys' love for Turtles combined with this really good game is a treat to watch

For the record, "Chuck," is a cut of meat, and "ground," is a way of preparing meat. So "Groundchuck," works as a name for a bull character.

Fun fact: Groundchuck's original name was "Bullseye," but they changed it for the final figure, presumably due to copyright issues. (Hence why he wears that metal eyepiece with the aiming sight.) "Groundchuck" is a beef reference, I believe. Also, both Groundchuck/Dirtbag and Atilla appeared in MULTIPLE episodes of the show.

I've absolutely loved playing this game, so it makes me very happy to see you guys not only playing it but also loving it as much as I did. I hope they play through the whole thing, it isn't too long of a game and I'm very curious to hear how they react to hearing the Shredder rap later. Also yes, it is all the original voices for all the characters, except for Shredder due to James Avery's death years ago, but I still give credit to the guy they got replacing him because he still does a good job. The amount of sheer love and nostalgia poured into this game for any TMNT fan is just incredible to see.

I freaking loved The Last Dragon! Got a big kick out of all the references. Btw, the short white gut Dan was talking about played Eddie Arcadian, the self proclaimed video game king. Positively cartoonish villain, but he fit the movie so well.

Eastman & Laird did apply the TMNT formula to a wide variety of animals (Usagi Yojimbo). Outside of the original TMNT comics you also have things like the Mutanimals with mutated jaguars, manta rays, geckos, bats, etc.

I love how much they are enjoying this game and how much they both seem to love TMNT. I need more of this.

Groundchuck and Dirtbag were in Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project on NES. Dirtbag is a mole. Groundchuck is a bull and is named after a cut of beef. I think the character Arin was talking about in regards to the show jumping the shark was Carter. He kinda turned into a mohawked, buff, yellow-furred man. But he could mutate into that form at will. I was happy they were at least looking at the controls at the start, but skipped the good stuff, like taunting to get free super attacks. And of course ignored the charged attack which bypasses shields. I’m a bit of a Turtles nut so I was internally (and externally) screaming most of this episode. Can’t wait for part two!

This needs to be said. Raphael has had a girl friend. Dan would 10000% find her hot. She was named Ninjara, she was a fox from Japan... and they smashed. It's in the comics. They smashed. 100% it happened.

The answer to the titular question is yes. Y'gythba was Raphael's girl friend in the 2012 television series. She was a salamander and went by Mona Lisa because of naming convention continuing the tradition of female characters being named after artwork where the turtles are artists.

To answer your question, lore wise, yes they have. Ralph's usually had one in every continuity, usually a mutant of some sort. In current contintuity it's aloplex, a mutant white fox. Donnie had a girlfriend, but it suddenly ended when she found out he was a mutant animal and not a mutated person and she didn't know how to deal with that.
