The engineer is SEGA pointing his gun at Creative Assembly and the handgunners are the fanbase. Also there's a dozen stacks of angry dwarfs invading Lustria to go after Luthor Harkon. The Cast: Luthor - the Corporate Simp Karl Franz - Furious Over Empire Requiring almost 5 years to be good. Alith Anar - Pissed Over Being Useless in Battle for over Two Years Thorgrim - RAGING after 8 years of no Dwarf Rework
The old adage “Forgive but never forget” rings true here. Obviously it’s a good thing they got their shit together and made the right calls but we should definitely stay on their ass.
It's true they were forced to and they must continue to perform in the future to fix the game but there is something to be said about what you will do when you are backed against the wall. Will you perform? There is some respect deserved for that. Some would just give up or cut their losses.
@@Costin_Gaming I'm glad they did, I was afraid they would cut off WH3 development and start wrapping up. As of now at least it seems that direction of the game is actually in the hands of people who actually know where the problems lie or at least listen to community feedback. And if we want to get all philosophic about redemption, it's not like you do one thing and you are redeemed. Redemption is a state/process of being where you continue to not repeat past mistakes.
Lots of great insights and points well made in this video. Keep it up Costin, you and your channel are growing at an admirable pace. Your content is among the best in the TWWH community, IMO, and that is no easy feat.
I say let SEGA keep trimming the fat. Like a lot of us are saying, credit where it's due - but I feel like devs nowadays just don't want to work 🤷♂️ Tons of older developers are saying that these bugs and issues in games are small-small changes that nobody wants to do. People have solutions, but when they're presented, it gets lost in "Oh let's talk about it" or "we'll hold a meeting about it". Unpopular statement, but seems like laziness to me.
I just realized, with the advent of AI voices companies will have 0 excuses not adding voice lines to everything they can. Battle speech’s against certain factions or legendary lords, unique diplomacy lines for every legendary lord and faction. Ik this is random but it just occurred to me watching this video. 😂 and no they haven’t redeemed themselves. Need a few more good patches/dlc to feel good about em.
The issue is legality. You'll be certain that the voice actors will explode in nuclear fire if CA does this. Unless you start developing a game with pure AI voices, then the legal issues will remain. It'll also take another year, before voice acting becomes good enough for generic gaming dialogue.
I think the remaining dlc’s and updates need to be fully focused on Immortal Empires and building on the quality that Thrones of Decay has. CA needs to understand that dlc like this at the price point they’re charging has to be the MINIMUM STANDARD and need at least 2-3 more dlc’s like this or building further upon it with more reworks, continued support and updates for factions or features needed before they’re “redeemed”. Might be harsh or expecting too much but we have the power to make companies listen.. ask Sony and Arrowhead how well it went for them
I had the same feeling, shit started during the abandonment of 3KTW the last decent title plus declaring publicly that araby is not going to be developed while developing troy and pharaoh and a pubg type of game which people never really asked for. Some in CA really needed to get fired at that point.
I'm wondering where they will go with Pharaoh, although it was on my list, I wasn't thinking about it too much, as I was focusing on finishing at least one every campaign on the previous games I havent' finished yet. But if it keeps on improving, I might enjoy it a lot, as well as enjoy being able to skip Troy and have the larger content directly.
SFO probably has at least 15-20% of the playerbase playing it and the closer they make the vanilla experience to it the better. For those that don’t like it, I’d say CA could implement a mode system like they did for Troy and Three Kingdoms and keep the vanilla for those who prefer it and make the more lore friendly version that draws people to SFO. The monsters and vampires in SFO feel much closer to their lore counterparts than those in vanilla who can be murdered in like a second and don’t really inspire any fear unless you play on some crazy difficulty that’ll make you fear Skavenslaves near as much.
Mate I think the main problem was that were weren't getting our moneys worth with what was released prior. Now we can buy the packs individually and they feel good this time around
@@Fernthe_plant not least a free lord for everyone who happens to be pretty good fun too. price tag was about right... ive gotten 10+ new campaigns to play. even having whaled this game big time my cost per hour of entertainment is under 5cents an hour at this point.
@VikingNewt thrones of decay brought me back. I got the Empire pack and lemme tell you, Ive definitely gotten my money's worth out of it lol excited to buy the dwarf pack next
i'd have bought every dlc if they had continued with the tempo and quality (and price) we saw in tww2. LOD definately redeemed them in my eyes, now i just hope they finish shadows and keep up this obvious passion and care that LOD has seen we'd be happy cash cows. but they took my whale money, quintupled the number of dickheads in suits, burned my money on hyenas and nearly crippled what still could be the perfect warhammer fantasy digital version. every game and dlc so far, and i still havent spent as much on this as i have on actual crackhammer. infact i think just my rl skaven army cost more XD (just)
Hey Costin, I keep hearing people of the community say that sieges in WH3 need a rework but I don't find them to be bad? In WH2 they were awful by comparison. What makes people not like sieges so much? We now have proper siege maps to fight in instead of that boring stupid wall to assault in WH1 and WH2.
I stopped played Warhammer 3 shortly after release, because the map and the campaigns were horrible and the new races felt super rushed and incomplete. I still feel that Kislev in particular, one of the factions I was so excited for, is still very meh, but the new Immortal Empires map and all the other new additions and reworks do make me want to play more now. I honestly have a lot of fun with the game right now and I hope it stays that way for a while!
One good turn deservies another, but they've fucked up colossally with their choices over the past 10 years. I don't think this is a redemption in any way, shape or form. This is how the updates should be as a standard.
not just Thrones of decay but their pro-consumer behaviour with the refund and free changes and upcoming content to Pharoah. They have my support as long as they keep making good content.
True. I came back after not playing for a long time and vanilla is just awful now. 3’s difficulty and AI has just gotten worse and worse since release. Idc about the shiny toys of each faction if the AI takes 0 brain power to defeat and you’ve won the game by turn 20. Not only is it boring in terms of gameplay, but it ruins immersion completely. The AI don’t feel alive. They sit in their settlements doing nothing until you come and kill them. They don’t become cool giant empires like in Warhammer 2, they recruit shit armies, and now they barely even go to war with the player. Auto resolve has been super broken forever lol
lol nope. maybe after 3 years of constant updates... but yeah nah one right after a saga of wrong dont mean shit. especially when their necks are on the line
