Normally I assume David and Lee go to the producers with "Hey, I've got a new true thing you can use." In this case he knew so little about it that I wonder if they saw the article and decided to surprise him with it.

Or he could have just been pretending to remember so little about it. With how little he seems into music (I can relate), if he’d immediately known the album title or any of the songs and someone could confirm he was right, they would have known for sure it was true, because why else would he know that?

@@maxdecphoenix It means they have no idea what they decided to put on the card, not they have no idea what true things could potentially be there. It’s not like the writers stalk them and the other panelists with private investigators for every fact. That would be extremely creepy

The whole point of the game is to convince your opponents that the opposite of what you're saying is true. Hence David's exaggerated look at the card and general demeanor of someone, who's making shit up. I don't think Richard was necessarily believing him but rather saw an opportunity to play along for comedic effect - which is the ultimate goal of the show anyway.

If he wasn't just doing it for a joke he would have been doing it to throw of the other team because "helping him" so obviously implies that it's a lie.

Christ, what does he spend his money on? I'm a pensioner with more than 3,000 albums on vinyl and CD ... and I can reel off most of them and tell you the track order.
