This is some raw shit that I’ve been thinking about lately I always had a suspicion. Thank you for the cryptography reality check. I always did think the algorithm seemed ‘handy wavy’.

If I remember correctly, it was revealed a few years back that the CIA (NSA?) had compromised a widely used Swiss encryption machine. I don't remember what it was called but it's used by diplomats worldwide to send messages. Apparently they infiltrated the manufacturer decades ago, since the 80s or 90s. The Swiss government launched an "investigation" probably to save face or something.

They would need to be able to factorize very large numbers to solve it, there isn't an algorithm that can do this to date, if there was they wouldn't be using it to decrypt RSA lol.
