This guy needs his own subject runnung alongside theory and philosphy. Im sure even if nothing taken way this guy presents an amazing view of life which lacks in todays society. This does not deserve a couple thousand hits on the fringes of society? this guy needs to be taken seriously and be given his rightful spot he diserves. This is a gift.
I think this is the big question that I am going to throw my entire upcoming physics career into answering. I have a feeling a deep intuition into the metastructure of what order and chaos is is going to be absolutely vital in finding a proper mathematical physics formulation to this inquiry.
I'm really glad that you have posted this clip, I've been sharing it for decades. It's a great version of his basic rap and I believe that if a billion or so people really understood what he's saying it could shift mass consciousness. Having known Terence and been a fan since the 80's it's good to see his work going viral. Most people think of him as a druggy but he was truly brilliant and he was admired by some of the smartest folks on the planet. He often said that his Novelty Theory was his only original thought, it was always a throw away line but to me it seemed to indicate how important it was to him, he certainly put a tremendous amount of work in it.

the idea that the should universe exists for a reason or not is simply redundant. To me it almost feels like some people talk about the universe as an object rather than infinity.
For the McKenna naysayers, this is ideal McKenna with succinct thoughts ideas and logic. No where does he claim 2012 IS the end. He merely eludes to the idea that current velocity we approach the singularity very very soon. And novelty. That fractal nature is observed he was ahead of his time
I listened to him countless hours but never quite got his novelty theory. I just don't see why anything with development potential that branches off shouldn't become more and more complex faster and faster. What is the problem from his perspective? Anyone know?
To understand it we should need to study his mathematical formulation of the theory, because liked it or not, it is a theory formulated in the language of mathematics just like any other scientific theory, there are pdfs out on the internet that describe his mathematical description of the timewave, then all the central considerations like the resonances among times in history follow after
Singularity is near ! I would be very curious to know if Ray Kurzweil was actually inspired by that talk. Because this is exactly the same thesis. (this was released in 1998 and has been a life long work of mcKenna. The book of Kurzweil is from 2005). even the theme: "we are central after all" is present in that talk.
I think that dark energy and space-time as being the same thing as a divine field makes this happen. I call this The "pan-cosmo-Quantum supra-conscious holographic in-formational memory field of co-entangled states i.e basically morphic resonance" and call this God. This is pantheism/pandeism of the panpsycho-panentheistic type or nondual process theology or Pantheology. Entanglement is the key to all our major problems in science such as the increase of complexity that defines the arrow of time. He's absolutely right, only recently have they seriously started to analyze, theorize, and ask questions of these two inherent and dominant phenomena of nature.
If we somehow manage to create an artificial intelligence (anytime soon?) recreating and overworking itself constantly, McKenna's theory of exponentially explosion of complexity and novelty might be right :3 Let's look what the future has to offer :D
Hi, it's actually spelled "Eschaton", essentially it refers to the last phase of the universe, the end of the world, or the world after the "end of times", an interesting topic, but I can't explain it very well in general terms, because the definition would be different for different religions and philosophies.
He mixes lots of words to pass his message. The way I see it we are as meaningless as anything else but that's irrelevant. "This" (all of this) is *not nothing* and that's good enough for me. Sometimes it's a downer that we don't live in a universe exclusively made for ourselves, but the relevancy of that is that we have to struggle to survive and to thrive and the result of that is where positivism lies. We are *it* and there wouldn't be a whole without the parts.
We should really only have one care in the world. That is to ensure the generations to come have the same OPPORTUNITY to ENJOY life, because, if you want to talk nutshell, it all IS POINTLESS. Save the BEAUTY of the EARTH🌎.
The issue here is no evidence. No one understands space, time, matter or nothing. The big bang has plenty of evidence with expanding universe, energy and matter. If you can't conceive gravity effecting space, mass or time, what makes anyone think they understand nothing or a singularity? I don't see much in the complexity claim. If you are looking at life, we have a good explanation. Life tries all the possibilities and sorts out the best and repeats the process with endless samples over and over. There isn't evidence of no limits. It may be it will all be destroyed and start over. "Shit happens" IF you can't figure it all out, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Isn't it ironic to call your channel "....counter CULTURE", when T. McKenna said "Culture is not your friend". For what purpose would donations will be used?
He asks questions of the assumptions of science that shows how limited those assumptions are. He questions it, you do not..so you call yourself a scientist, yet he is a far better one than you. Distressing as that may be to you.
sometimes I listen to him and I think this guy is bat shit nuts. The universe is accelerating? nothing seems to be happening any more than a few months ago. sure things are changing, but not accelerating. I do not observe this change.
