Let the money men and women ruin the sport and turn it into a sterile plastic borefest, real football fans will just migrate to the lower levels, to get an authetic affordable experience, i did 25 years ago and lower league attendance levls are up significantly compared to even 10 years ago. Social media has helped a lot i think.
When I went to the London Stadium with my old man it was so bad, it didnt even feel like you was at a football game it felt more like you was at some baseball game in the states. It was so weird. We haven't been back since, like you said about the Arsenal, will always love them because its in my DNA but I'd never go back. Get a much more authentic experience in non league for sure. Premier League has almost become like some weird reality TV show for me 🤷♂️
Mate it's annoying really.... I went to Bernabeu in February.... the upgrade was almost complete. Was annoyed that i didn't get to see the original structure..... like San Siro, the Bernabeu was a cathedral of football, but stadiums are starting to look like a Space ship has landed in the city...... and yeah the prawn sandwich brigades are at the games more often....... Give me a St.Andrews 😉🫡
still got my match tickets and programmes from the 80s early 90s ,love em ,never forget the first time i went to old trafford in 85 great atmoshere back then 👍
I’m a Man City fan since 2015 and I agree, that matchday feeling and the atmosphere truly has just began to die down, I remember starting in 2015 before pep and all that arrived, the etihad back then was amazing with true English fans getting behind their club, a nice atmosphere, no half and half scarves, just true blues out to see their team win, but fast forward a couple years after a couple league titles and some domestic success, you realise more tourists, the atmosphere at a lot of games is just not existent anymore, I even saw half and half scarves dedicated to the UCL Final when we played inter Milan, which annoyed me since that was last season… I went to Sparta Prague and what I saw was just incredible, so many more empty seats, a lot of my block was just foreign fans and nobody would make any noise unless they stood up to celebrate a goal or if they was talking to family or friends, that’s it. Premier League Football has been been dying for years now and im disappointed it affected my team as it’s the one my whole family and myself grew up with.
As an ex pat, who goes home to see Tottenham once a year, the cost are horrific. I use a scandinavian site to get tickets and i`m having to pay over £160 for a ticket.(it`s the only safe site to use). I miss the old times so much. At my last match som twat next to me looked at his phone all match! Half and half scarfs everywhere(does me in). Impossible to get the crowd going. They don`t get behind the team unless they they are winning. And f**ck all those stats! I`m trying to get tickets for the Tottenham- Ipswich game. I begrudge paying over £150 for a ticket. I might just watch a basketball match instead.(London Lions). Great videos by the way!
Nailed it again my friend. Only time I’ve been to the new Spurs stadium is for a Teddy Sheringham, Paul Gascoigne evening. The entrance was more like the entrance to a 5 star hotel than a football ground totally surreal. Fortunately I’ve been around a long time and nobody can take my memories away of the late 70s and 80s visiting proper old school grounds. Places like Mansfield, Oldham, Bristol Rovers when they played at the dog track. Burnden Park Bolton, Roker Park, Ayresome Park, The baseball ground Derby, Maine Road, manor ground Oxford, Boothferry park Hull. Fantastic old school venues from great days that are gone forever!
I had a tour of Spur’s ground (Watford fan, but got arranged on my behalf, so thought why not). I was impressed with the structure and technology. BUT. Seeing the corporate facilities, with one section being £30,000 for a season ticket emphasised “without VAT” (and there were more expensive ones). Then hearing the prices of the cheapest seats (can’t recall, but not ‘working class’ prices). Then hearing the OAPs will no longer get discounts 😮… It just screamed corporate and over-priced with no respect to the loyal fans. Ive seen a game at the old White Hart Lane and i preferred that stadium. I like the stadiums that have naturally evolved over time.
Fantastic fellow youtuber talking about something I'm passionate about, yes I genuinely think modern football stinks n so do alot of people, Atmosphere at some places shocking n the price's a disgrace, all they want corporate space ships to make god knows how much money, n have contempt for certainly the old school fan or even the younger but old style working lads or lasses, in Europe they would not tolerate this germany france Italy Holland east Europe to name a few, here we allow this circus to unfold, only have to look a the disgracefull ticket prices at Villa for there Europe campaign won't call that, name coz it isn't for champions, kick off times , shocking, I'm sure they will want to play on the moon soon n pay like wise, shocking that Spain are considering or allowing a game to be played in the bloody US, great channel 😊
@@football-phoenix thank you my friend, nice to hear someone with the same views,I think football is such a huge part of some of our lives .somsaf how it's all headed
Yeah there too expensive premier league tickets it’s so annoying also I agree with you comment on the membership I had one for Man Utd cost ridiculous amounts of money and I still could barely get a ticket so I cancelled it and watched lower league football instead
After 50 years, i feel like quitting. Boring, corporate KPI business orientated shite, why not turn the whole ground into Exec boxes and be done with it. The Championship is still enjoyable.
@@FootballTheDadstalk Well, we played that way there last season, it is creeping in on park football also. I will go back to watching the world tiddly winks championships instead
worse in fact if there was a prem game in my back garden id pull the curtains.. more and more are watching non league now i understand its not a trickle of fans either
I know Millwall aren’t in the Premier League but I went to their game against Plymouth as a neutral and I think they are one of the best clubs in terms of match day experiences
At Carlisle we have so much standing!!!! You do get to know people who stand around you. I see people at games and get into conversation with people who I have no idea of their name or their jobs but we love talking football! I supported Everton in my past it was great not for me now and not just because Everton are poor! Rugby league still keeps it real! I have been to Anfield with a Palace supporting friend, palace fans sang! Not so much Liverpool. It’s obscene what people get charged for food. Wembley for me is bollocks, football league trophy finals are ridiculous what gets charged is terrible.
@@jimmycburfield5997 majority of people that goes to grounds like Anfield, Old Trafford and The Emirates aren’t even from the UK sums the Premier League up
