I think natural disasters are just as common as before. The difference is we can track then much more accurately now because of technology. But we might wipe ourselves out with nukes tho.
Not really, Fiji had less flooding and hurricanes when I was a kid. My relatives were living great. I never experienced natural disaste. Now fiji gets them every once a year and our same relatives tells us about the flooding and hurricanes ( we are American citizens now)

Were it that something so catastrophic occurred that we had to learn to hunt and gather , again , medicines would still be around , just not easily found in a pharmacy or obtained on prescription , unles your group had a person whose knowledge included the medicinal propertys of plants , tress , grasses , ferns , and flowers , if such still existed . Were a nuclear winter to occurr , the bunker needed , would need to be of suficient depth , to accomadate 3+ years worth of water + food + seeds for planting , in the new earth - grain, ferns , trees , shrubs , and more , would be needed , anfd the bunker , would be huge . This sort of scenario , maybe why the cities in some parts were built underground , like Darinkuia , or the Long-nan caves in China . Perfect places of Refuge .

I remember watching a RU-vid video about human population growth years ago where the person brought up if a mass extinction event happened, there needs to be at least 1,400 people who survive (depending on their ages/fertility rates & genetic diversity) to repopulate the human race.

I was curious if where I live, was was on top of that Central Magmatic Provence area so I asked BING if Carbon could be compressed into Granite. No but humans have figured out how to compress Carbon into Rock. Granite is a result of cooling of Magma which is a reason I moved to this area. I also am confident if something was in the Air like Carbon Dioxide or Methane, we as humans could navigate that threat because building size air filters are already a thing.

One of the worst possible locations for a meteor of ANY size to strike would be the eastern tip of Africa. I've heard estimates and seen demonstrations that say 95% of the entire world population would be wiped out if that area was struck by a large enough object.😮

I'm unfamiliar with the vocanoe you mentioned , but , when the Tongan eruption occurred , that affected summers in the southern hemisphere for two years , with both winter and summer , being wetter and colder . The volcanoes you mentioned is in Indonesia , most of that Archeplego, is in the Northern Hemisphere , just , so may not affect the more northerly places to much more than normal .
