I have to chuckle when the Pattaya based vloggers walk or cycle around and show a bar with a handful of expats sitting in it and say ‘see, it’s totally rammed’ 😂
Comment from the peanut gallery.... High season for bars and clubs seems unlikely as there are just way too many bars these days. Farangs from England to Australia come here and open bars, great for liquor companies and the Thai economy creating jobs from construction to hostesses and servers, but just not sustainable here. The infrastructure is crap and the city is filled with Russian families, Indians, and Chinese who do not frequent the bars for the most part
Thanks for your comment and please save me some nuts!! Some people just make bad life choices and aren’t suited to running or owning a bar. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have done ok.
@@LePubPattaya True Phil, but you are established here for over 5 years and had experience before opening Le Pub. Admit to being a bit cynical and never a bar owner so as I said, just a comment from the peanut gallery....still plenty of people who drink and party and spend money on entertainment every day
After watching various bloggers walking and cycling the sois at night lots of times, it cannot be denied that it has been quiet. There are a few bars (always the same ones) that stand out amongst them which do ok.
two weeks ago I sat @ TIME BAR lk METRO the bar across the road to the left had 15 bar girls sitting outside...no customers inside ,Billabong empty as well,..most of the girls sat on chairs on the road ( LK METRO GAUNTLET ) ..
Expensive flights , expensive accomodation, visa fees has cost this city for less business.Way back 10years was excellent but now it's declining rapidly .
I was in Pattaya throughout December. Some bars were very busy others were constantly empty. There are simply far too many bars with not enough really attractive and entertaining ladies. You mentioned the problem with the girls, no less than FIVE of my "former" young and good-looking bar girls now work in Gogos.
sorry phil but flight prices are still high ive payed 800 for my trip in 3 weeks thats was booked in aug2023 cheapest i could get.just check for ramdom date in june and thats still 650 plus.when i vist before i was paying round 450/500 round now even mid year even gotflight one time for 362 on qatar.and soem airlines now charge u for selecting seats general seats round 25 to 40 mark if u want the extra legroom ur paying 75 for each leg of the flight so thats a extra 300 quid on top of whatu already paided
Glad that business is good. Side comment. I took some friends to walking street in November and I saw two Chinese tourist groups of about twenty people each following the flag and just taking pictures and videos all over the place, including rudely taking pictures of the working girls. What a turn off. I don't know how often this happens but really kills the vibe and transform the place into something that looks more like a tourist trap than an entertainment area. Also I agree that Clubs or Discos are the way to go to attract a younger (and maybe even wealthier) audience. I find that clubs in Bangkok are even better than the ones in Pattaya.
I can not comment without sounding all doom and gloom. All I'll say is if anyone can remember Pattaya from pre-2000, that place is dead and gone in respect of female hospitality. Most of the girls here now (in my opinion) are not fit for purpose. The girls I've reacted with so far want big money for doing little to no work. Not good. I wish I could rewind back to 1996.🥳
Hi Alan. I remember when you came in the bar and you told me you were having a few problems with some female company during your last holiday but one. I’m going to have to disagree with you, I was here in 96 as well and the first two girls that I ever took did runners on me. So it’s not a new phenomenon, not for me anyway!
Just about spilled my coffee when you said they’re are far more interested in personality, what a load of crap,I’m here myself over 20 years mate and you know yourself what dictates their decision, stop beating about the bush!( excuse the pun.)
If you’ve got no money you ain’t getting no fun, but they do like personality and won’t just go with anyone. Hope your coffee was as good as the coffee I serve in the bar.
High season used to be consistently ‘busy’ November to February, so it’s nowhere near the same as pre COVID, ladies are leaving in droves, as high season becomes shorter every season, so it’s understandable, for them. The next issue these areas have to contend with is the exodus of Expats, with ‘new’ procedures being introduced every month by the authorities!! Good luck too you and your project mate, but it’s the same issues continuing, too many bars, with too little custom, and too much reliance on hope! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
My sales are far higher than before Covid and I’ve been hearing the too many bars, too few customers for 25 years. As far as the expat situation, I feel it’s quite clear, Thailand does not want expats retiring or living in a low budget. The country has moved on. Some people need to accept that. Thank you for your comment. Appreciated.
@@LePubPattaya Thailand wants Asian tourists Chinese, Koreans, Japanese etc they do not really want Westerners anymore but you be careful what you wish for as Indians Chinese etc do not frequent bars or restaurants they tend to eat in their hotels and travel round in organised groups.
Subscribed fantastic channel for advice I did the full moon party twice many moons ago but never did Pattaya I’m 43 now just divorced so I’m coming to party for a couple of months from November I’ll be checking your bars out 🎉🎉🎉
Great video Phil you definitely covered a lot of relevant topics. I will say this that your new career change to King of The Discotheque is a smart move & look forward to the new Studio 54 to set the world on fire.
I run a business in Jomtien for over 15 years, surely from a business point of view, you have to gage your business over 12 month period? not just the "High Season" as this does not make business sense!
I think the future for Pattaya is looking very positive. From my own perspective living in Perth Western Australia Flights direct to Bangkok are beginning, Thai daily flights from march and Jetstar will be flying directly from October I have already booked 2 return flights at less than $400 aud for each flight. As a FIFO worker on a 2 and 2 roster, with the more frequent flights Pattaya is an even more attractive option.
People online have been claiming Pattaya is dying/dead for most of the 25 years that I've been visiting the Kingdom. Yes, I have vague recollections of these doom and gloom stories starting back in 2002. 🤣
Pleased you had a good few months , but it’s true , many have quite struggled .. the issue is many 8/9/10’s go to go go’s , shame really .. but they go where the 💴 is ..
Girls have zero loyalty to a bar these days. If they are born beautiful they should exploit it as much as they can. They’re not beautiful for long. Beer bars can always offer a different, more relaxed service to the gogos.
Well done cleaner , just watched lotteries with phil and cleaner , she jagged daily double last 2 numbers 4 times 8000 b luck luck luck , soi diamond on fire , luck comes in threes phil , three watched the lotteries so u and me got luck coming on the horizon son , 2024 son its our year game on ....
Air fares will substantially increase in 2-3 years time - the aviation industry has committed to reducing their carbon footprint as 2% of global emmissions is from the commercial aviation industry - the 1st step is to use Substainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) which is 5 times more expensive than current aviation fuel Changi airport is looking to force all departing aircraft to use SAF from next year and Bp has a project in place to build 5 new SAF Facilities (Daedalus Project) globally - 1 in Western Australia, 1 in Texas, 1 in Spain, and 2 in Holland + Germany - the costs will be passed onto passengers via increased ticket costs
It was good having our little chat last week Phil. Your Italian mate (no names mentioned) is a class act. Enjoyed his banter. As for GC's I can say they have been doing fine but not quite as busy as I thought it would be. I have the regulars and with the festive holidays just gone they will be filtering back and hopefully get through the 'low season' unscathed. P.S. Try and improve your Scottish Accent mate. Look forward to seeing you again in March.
I’m looking for a flight now,I work at Heathrow and can fly with most airlines, and there are not many seats available The day I wanted to fly Eva was 3 over. And both Thai flights had 5 or less seats,lm hopefully getting there some how
Can't wait to get back to Thailand to have five or six coffees😅😅😅 thats a great tourist attraction....green shops coffee shops are all passing fads in my book. There is a great adage in business ...its sometimes not a good idea to diversify from your core business
There was not a high season. I was there December to January. If there was a high season then soi diamond must had it. No where else was busy. Some bars have to sell out. Look at tree town its dead same as soi Buakhao. What planet you on
I wish bar owners the best of luck. From my eyes and I do 2 trips a year for 3 months a time for the last 22 years and I can see massive changes in structure but lacks of customers. Bars needs drinkers and you wont get that with all the Indians and Russians. Its a pity but the prices of living and flights have turned a lot of people off. Take care and good luck 👍
@@michaeldowney2611 Indians and Russians spend on other entities like property, jewellery, electronics, manufacturing etc. You cant judge a city by bar business, that is a typical farang obsession.
@@kal77uk u would be fucked without bar drinkers. Having them every where in the city turns people off going. Especially dickheads like you. Pattaya is busy its not busy. If you got off your ars and tried doing a proper Pattaya video instead of 50 or do meters from your quiet pub maybe you can show us how busy it is.
Too many bars and clubs and streets, it's a huge area with only so many people, as more open, the crowds will thin out which is great for customers but bad for the girls. The girls will leave, the bars will close and what's left will get busier, the customers won't like it so more bars will open and more demand for more girls. It's the circle of life, supply and demand.
@@LePubPattaya Sure, but there has to be a critical mass right, it can only sustain growth for so long, there's only so many Men wanting to come to pattaya, eventually we will hit the limit, just maybe it hasn't happened yet.
I'm not sure what those RU-vidrs were talking about when they said there was no high season. I was there in Dec-Jan and the bars were rammed every night. Travelling from Either Hua Hin or Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya required booking ahead/ waiting for several hours to get an available seat, which this does not happen in the low season.
It’s a very subjective thing but in my opinion the girls are as good or bad as they’ve ever been. I have been here a few years, unfortunately. People have this romantic notion that all the girls were stunners 20 years ago. They weren’t.
To be honest i have to agree with alot of the other comments. You must have been lucky. Alot of bars deathly a few busy place's but alot hyped up especially area's like soi 7 . Yes most of the bars now open but to be Frank probably best if a few closed so to get more customers
Like I have said previously, I based my comments on talking to my peers. But, I do work very hard, don’t drink and I’m at my bar every day. Maybe that’s why I’m so “lucky” 😃
I just checked and my eyes are open, other than when they are closed. But thanks for the tip. I usually have my eyes open when I check my accounts and see my other friends bars busy as well. But I will check. This opening eyes routine may be my problem. Thanks for your help.
You'll never find a higher concentration of know it all experts than in Pattaya. Good venues have been busy and always will be. The place isn't dying. I do feel the girls aren't what they were 5-10 years back but maybe that's just me, or the sign of a digital world. Lets be honest anyway, at 2am after a big night drinking anything looks alright.
I was there in November and Pattaya was buzzing. The one thing I have read and spoken about with some ppl who live there, and the most of the younger women and real stunners no longer just go with anyone and prefer men under 45-50 years old. Elder men are having to pay more than guys in the 20s and 30s. Women are more selective now.
I agree with a lot of comments too many bars complexes throughout pattaya. Why get ripped off for drinks on ws. Only looks part with money. For better experience in tree town made in thailand and pothole. In my opinion. Plus all you see in ws is massive groups of chinese and who ain't going in the bars.
Never feel safe in these places. I’m sure you will say that you’ve been going for (xxxx) years and never had a problem, but I never feel safe in what is, their space.
@@LePubPattaya I don't know, maybe there are different kinds. I have always felt welcome. A good starter place in Pattaya is Kon La Fun up near 3rd road. It is not a proper Tawandaeng but close enough. You have to like Thai/Isaan music though, otherwise it is a waste of time.
Some of us who aren’t boomers are still more interested in a chill laid back environment that smaller less noisy bars provide. Anytime that I have the urge to shout “WHAT?” all evening, I just head to Insomnia.
@@streetracingmiscreant8589 Most my age aren't interested in drinking, we're more health conscious and just want a fun night out. Sitting in a bar is like watching paint dry lol
I guess your presence in social media helps your business. Right now the top girls has moved to internet specially "Only fools". 😋 They can earn so much more money for less work. But soon internet will be filled with even more beautiful AI generated girls. And then i hope they come back to the bars.
