@@swissbliss1898 They don't 'rehearse' interviews, they only go through what the interview is going to be about in terms of topics prior to the actual interview. Fallon's a nice guy but he's no comedic genius. The guy was literally retorting to Hasan shit like "Andrew Yang is Asian" and "I like bananas." Jimmy not understanding shit is clearly not a joke since the audience isn't laughing (i.e. no laugh signal).

@@swissbliss1898 some people are smart and funny and some people are just instinctually funny, its a different type of humour, it's the jimmy Fallon's and Adam Sanders of this world. the basic middle of the road comedy for everybody. but him having been on SNL doesn't make him a smarter comedian than Hasan or Colbert for example. I'd actually suggest that former Daily Show correspondents tend to be the smarter comedians, because they have a much of specific playing field

But he is fundamentally unfunny as a person and as a conversationalist. I still watch for his guests and some of his segments. And for the Roots. But neither Fallon, Letterman, or Leno have ever made me laugh.

Not Applicable Andrew yang has so many more good policies besides the ubi. Which in of itself is a great idea. Since you’re on RU-vid just look up ubi, tons of videos will pop up talking about how good an beneficial it can be. On top of that yangs website literally has hundreds of good ideas. From decriminalising drugs like opioids, psilocybin mushrooms, to creating injection centers where addicts can get the help they need without going to jail. He wants to have incentives to drive the power that is the everyday consumer to buy products that are more eco friendly. He wants to keep nuclear energy which can produce the cleanest energy of them all for even cheaper prices and upgrade nuclear plants to therbite instead of uranium which is more heavily unstable. I really agree with Yangs policies, but the biggest one, the freedom dividend, doesn’t mathematically work. The taxes that he would use to pay for the dividend only cover half of the actual cost.

He also plans a carbon tax, and to cut bureaucratic bloat, equal in the reduction of current safety net programs, savings on incarceration and other benefits of a ubi and an estimate 12% growth in the economy within a few years. Significant growth in small businesses and entrepreneurship. Then when all of that is weighed against the benefits to health and happiness which increases productivity, it balances. We spend a lot more in reactive programs with worse results. The freedom dividend is preemptive. It will cost much more down the road if we wait.

@Scott Covert what if I am astmatic due to the crappy air, I breath. Look yes, our culture breeds unhealthy living, and we need to change that (start by promoting being vegitarian instead of shitting on them). But still it's no excuse for penalizing lower sections of society for falling sick, plus Yang's website stated that m4a will bring about increased economic mobility and enterprenurship as people won't be inclined to just stick to a single job, bcoz of employer insurance.

When you have survival out of the way, you're liberated to actually have a shot at doing something for yourself that isn't about ensuring there is food on the table or enough money to pay bills. It's quite sad that it needs to be said, but a "job" should not have control over your life in the way that it can right now for people living paycheck to paycheck.

I wish he gave Yang some chance to talk about the universal basic income with those skeptical voters, or with Hasan, since he seems skeptical too. I was also skeptical, but when you hear Yang talk about it, it's clear the policy is not a bribe and actually well-thought out. People might still disagree with the policy, but I just wish media gave more time to discussing it. He can elaborate and respond extremely well.

Nope it's actually not. I've watched two hours podcast where he explained it because all you #YangGangs keep saying and my impression still remain the same. The truth is Yang Fan themselves don't know the policies which is why they keep asking people to watch his podcast or read the book, because they can't answer themselves. Anybody who studies finance can point out UBI would bring economy recession to the country

1000 economists endorsed a plan like UBI in the 70s, practically all the 11+ Nobel awarded economists alive are in favor of a UBI, and literally the dude who wrote everyone’s Econ 101 textbook, George mankiw, specifically endorsed Yang’s plan. Do your own research and be skeptical of course, but don’t make the leap that people who’ve studied this think it’s a bad idea.

Hasan is actually so hilarious. I am tired however of the premise Yang is just the free money man. He has an unbelievably deep understanding of the future of technology and how it will impact our economy, as well as the incentive structures throughout our businesses and government. I beg anyone that hasn’t listened to him speak yet to check out a good interview. If you’re still having doubts, read his damn book.
