I think people don't get the concept of what these robotic pets are for. They are not meant to replace real pets. They are created for dementia patients and seniors who love to have a pet but aren't able to care for one. Just having something lifelike to hold and love makes a big difference to a lonely person. Just like a stuffed animal brings a sense of security to a frighten child. I think it's a great idea.
I have a real cat staying at my house at a new property I'll be moving in the future. The cat was really young and stayed with me for 5 months in my little camper trailer I spent the night in away from my parents house. From my experiences, all the fur got everywhere and had to keep spending money on litter. Small litter after she uses the litter box got everywhere on my floor everyday. My furniture was also scratched from the cat trying open up cabinet drawers just trying to get behind the areas where all the wires and cables that powers up the refrigerator and heater. My cat loves to hide in dark corners a lot. One time I found her chewing cables that connects a sound speaker to the TV for movie theater sound effects. I was worried she might end up chewing cables in the camper that is not suppose to be damaged. I had to duct tape the drawers up so she could not get behind there again. I could not keep her in the camper 24/7 where she couldn't go outside to walk or run around. My parents do not like cat fur in their house either. So, I had to move her to a totally different area where she can go indoors and outdoors at the same time. Her new home would be a sun porch that has a door with a small pet door at the bottom. I would still love to take her back with me to my camper but it can get ruined even more if I do. This is one reason why I would like to get a robotic cat then.
My residents with dementia LOVE these cats. Many of them think they’re real. They pet it, talk to it, and it brings so much joy. One of the cats today had syrup all over it because a resident was feeding it her pancakes and was saying to it, “that’s what happens when you make a mess.”
I'm.disabled, and when my late ginger kitty got old and sick I REALLY struggled to care for him, (as he needed medicine and special meals several times a day) My life has felt pretty hollow since he left, and my dad (my carer who I live with) won't allow me to adopt a new kitty, so I've been saving up to buy one of these! They're not cheap (especially when you're surviving on ESA) but I bet it'll ALL be worth it when I FINALLY get to pet and cuddle a fluffy, puŕry kitty again
It moves. It responds to touch. It is easy to cuddle. I can see how it is like a teddy to a kid. It something to hold on to. The lonely. The bitter. The dejected. The adoration of artistry. The smiles. The companion Pet is a miracle in due season.
When I am bitter and dejected I will go over to my budgee barrel and shake Romo and Shuckers till they fall off thier stand. I only do it after Lisa and Darren leave and somehow they always know when that barrel get shook. The budgees don talk so it can't be them. Lisa and them keep putting this cat thing on the RU-vid and saying they will take away Shukers an the whole barrel and I'll have one of these pets as my animal and not the budgees anymore. That's why I'm saying that. Because without the budgees I am dejected and maligned. Tarpped alone. Me and Romo an Shukers.
I got myself one of the HASBRO ROBOT CAT because I can not have a real cat in the villa I lived in. When I got it the landlord thought that I got a real cat same with my friends, the landlord said I have give it away until he had good look at it and he said I can keep it. My mum and dad, friends and family loves him GINGERBOY. Yes he send out love to us all. When I am not myself GINGER does make me feel better in myself.
These animals are amazing gifts for patients in nursing homes. It brings such comfort to these people because they spend so much time alone. Humans were created to have interaction with people and animals. Its what makes a beautiful human. These interactive cats are a true gift for patients in nursing homes.
i found one of these at a thrift store! i found the orange tabby, i bought them because i wanted to see how my cats would react and they didn't care really
I had one. And I found her again. I think i got her in France and named her Lola. Mine is white, but she doesn't work. I have given her new batteries, but doesn't work. I want to make her work again since I really want a cat. But my dad doesn't want me to have a cat..
Would this be good for someone who lost a pet cat 4 years ago to old age and is severely allergic to cats and can't own a real one? 😭 I desperately want a cat again... I miss my kitty, lost her in 2017. I love you Belle. I'm 23
of course it is. I'm allergic too and have one. my joy for all cat goes with me through the day. and even my nieces love it and when they visit me they love to pat it.
Tbh I’ll probably treat my realistic weighted cat like it’s real 😅 minus the feeding and other unnecessary things. It’s not robotic but I prefer that. I really need the emotional support. The one I got is realistic, weighs around 6 lbs and is the size of a small real cat. That’s perfect for me 🥰 robots scare me a little 😅 Had to delay getting a dog due to how badly my psychiatric conditions are effecting me…
My girl was almost 17 when she died. I had her since I was 5 years old. Still such a huge part of me is missing. I’m so sorry for your loss. I want to get the grey one. I miss her so much. She was my best friend.
this robot cats are ageless. so from five year old to hundretfive years above you can have joy with this companion pets. I found out that hasbro allso has made a golden pup companion pet doggy. that reminds me of my defunct labradorretriwer dusty that passed away on january the 12th 2012. and because of allergies I can't take care of a pet anymore. maybe that hasbro joy for all is on my christmas wish list this year.
I work in hospice and have seen 1st hand the amazing, powerful wonderful benefits these LIFE LIKE cats bring to seniors!!! Best intervention next to real pet therapy! Suggestion: have extra batteries on hand otherwise senior can SADLY think their beloved pet is sick or worst yet has died & requires a trip to the Vet to resurrect: Funny but not ;-)
I want one of these, I am blind, and already have to live in cats. This would be great, I want something to give more love to, but not necessarily feed. I can have one of these forever. I would love to have one.
I haave a metacat. He''s not too bad. Only thing is it doesn't make a sound when the battery is low so I cann't tell unless I turn him on and he doesn't meow
I've seen one of these suckers in the adult residence my grandmother lives in. However, I'm not sure if it was powered on, but it had a ribbon around its neck.
I bought one of these for a friend who has Alzheimer’s and it was stolen from the nursing home. Any ideas on how to permanently mark it so it won’t happen again? She loved her little cat it really filled a void in her life since she was a cat lady.
:( How terribly sad is that??? I can't believe someone would do that! I hope the person you bought it for can get another one that looks just like the one you bought and that the person that stole it gets a good karmic A kicking!
do you have a house of lloyd bear there that has a light up heart and plays music? would like to see it because I had one when I was little and it played songs like happy birthday to you or yellow rose of texas.
I got one for my mom, but we couldn’t housebreak it so I had to put it in a shelter, and the only place that would take it was a RadioShack. I’m just kidding lighten up. If it helps people that’s wonderful really I’m just joking around.
I wish I could get one of these I lost my sister just over 2 and a half years ago and I miss her so much I live in New Zealand where can I get the creamy white from please.
Part of the joy of having a pet is feeding and developing that one on one bond with a real creature. These are pretty cool but unconditional love cannot be programmed. These are awesome though. If I were unable to have my Bubby boy, then I would consider one of these but...still. There is a difference
This is a great idea for seniors, but um, Hasbro, this is literally what you had in the early 2000s. It's even more annoying when you realize that this is literally like Lulu Cuddling Kitty, which are discontinued by Hasbro, and now these are not even available in the toy aisle. I've been meaning to get one but can't shop online. Grrr. It can be used for children, I mean come on, now Furreal Friends are super creepy cartoon looking and have these programmings if not more now, and they're around the same price. So, why Hasbro?
They TOTALLY sound mechanical and the movements are choppy and completely unnatural. They also make a clicking noise whenever they move. So disappointing.
I'm a real cat owner and u believe that the real animal is far better than a fake object people are getting ridiculous about things no fake cat replaces the real animals
