Jeff Andia Not sure what's unclear...this is exactly what they aired. Jimmy says 'Let me do that again' (ie we'll cut what I just said from the show) at 1:06 b/c he choked/spit went the wrong way/had acid reflux as he says...and immediately after he says that he starts joking about it, goes into a bit w/ Higgins. B/c the whole thing turned out to be smth. different/interesting/funny they ended up leaving it in the show.

Someone will come along that's better. We didn't think anyone could replace Leno, we didn't think anyone could replace Carson. Leno has better stand up jokes, but Jimmy has a nicer atmosphere and a more fun show.

I quit my first job by not showing up the next day, and when they called I told them I was on a three week long fishing trip at Lake Erie. "I thought I told you guys about that. My bad." The funny thing was, they didn't verbally fire me. They just said "Oh, okay." And that was the end of it.

I know someone at my work where she told me when she was younger and worked at a pancake house as a waitress, she and all the other waitresses all quit together one morning because they were tired of their managers. They quit and then left and sat in their car and watched their managers struggle as the breakfast crowd came in.

+ElectroMonkey Yeah it would be much better if he just read the cards and did nothing else. Preferably in a monotone voice and with a blank expression. Perhaps they can write "end of joke" on the cards, and implement a timer allotting a fixed period of silence between jokes. They should ditch the other guy and the audience as well, so that we aren't influenced by their laughter, therefore being free to interpret each joke on our own accord.

Alright, to all those talk show noobs here who complained about Jimmy's reading of the Wendy's joke twice: Talk show hosts often repeats a joke if it failed to generate satisfactory amount of laughter from the studio audience. They would often do what Jimmy did, which was to do an impromptu side act, in an attempt to rave up the crowd. Usually the crowd understands why the host would interrupt a segment, so that the second time through, they would make more noise. The studio crew would also make gestures to hint at the audiences to remember to laugh and applaud. Talk shows on TV require sufficient audience reactions, or else they would have to add pre-recorded laughter and applause in post-production, which really kills the mood for the TV audiences.
