Check out Hasbro's Haslab Ghostbusters 2, the Ghost Trap and P.K.E. Meter, but is it worth $300? The Haslab follows the success of the Haslab Proton Pack and Haslab 2 features two new Ghostbusters prop replicas for collectors.

I sold my unmodded, brand new Spirit Trap for more than $200 two Halloweens ago. Smoke kits for it go for about $150. Higher end trap replicas go for much more. $300 for both a trap and PKE, are officially licensed, and apparently scanned from the real props, and not to mention they are completely interactive - yes, the price is more than justified.

Ghost traps on ebay are $300 alone and they don't have all the capabilities that the haslab trap does.

I wasn't collecting during the Matty collector Era. So I jumped on the haslab pack and the 2 in the box. $300 won't even get me a single Matty item on the 3rd market. So I think this price is well worth it. Can't wait for them to arrive.

A things value is like beauty.. It's in the eye of the beholder👙💵🤖 I paid $300 for a graflex light sabre. The original flash gun handle was a found part pulled from a box of junk😮

I think it’s gonna be worth it to be honest because when the proton pack came out it blew me out of the water so this should do the same

I ordered two, and might do another before midnight tonight, as it ends today. I enjoy the Haslab campaigns. The Skystriker was a bust but the Proton Pack more than made up for it!

The features of these are worth the cost. Trap: accurate lights and sounds, removable cartridge, a rumble motor for a trapped ghost, gb1, 2 and afterlife ghost options, functional doors, a functional pedal with cable and if we get to the unlocks a proper metal holster with v-hook. PKE: accurate lights and sounds, a working EMF detector, taser mode, the option of GB1/afterlife light sequence or GB2 light sequence, a mute option, and the holster if it’s unlocked. For £300 you could get a trap kit and all the electronics and a smoke kit and build it yourself. I spent £105 on my trap and pedal kit I’ve made them but I cannot find a compatible electrical kit for the doors. So what I’m gonna do is make that a smoking trap and use it for display. I own a Mattel pke and while yes it’s real close to screen accurate has the lights and you can control the speed of them and extend the arms. It’s over a decade old and it shows. The loud motor for the arms, the annoying beeping it makes, the delay when I press a button and I’ve taken great care of this thing but the arms are loose. They just have a little wiggle room and droop down a small bit when the arms are up. Then again I’m not passing up the opportunity to own a pke that has a working EMF meter in it. You can’t deny how freaking cool it would be to turn it on and actually pick up a signal of something. And better yet when they filmed afterlife they had to have 2 props of the pke. One that moved and one solely for the taser mode because they couldn’t fit it all in one and hasbro have done just that. There are a few things about these haslabs I’d change like the pke meters arms be a bit longer and the taser switch be more metal and less grey cylinder. And the trap have slightly smaller wheels and a more stable connector to the cable because that just looks like an accident waiting to happen.

I built a pack from a kit and did not buy the haslab version (i did buy the wand at retail as a display piece)...building a functioning trap is a lot of work, just based on cost to build, the time OR even the cost to cosmetically upgrade a spirit Halloween trap that has no pedal I will say: yes it's worth it. I backed early, hoping to at least get that trap holster stretch goal unlocked.

I agree 100 percent. Building any working "hero" prop from scratch is fun, but also to get it to do what it does in the movies is beyond most average cosplayer's budgets and / or knowledge. We're getting 2 replicas that act like they do in the movies for $300. That is totally worth it just to have, knowing that these are a one-time only and great to add to a collection. All 3 tiers have been unlocked (with 3 days to go) and we'll have them in-hand by Fall 2024, hopefully before next Halloween. 🚫👻

Metal finishes, LED lights, sound effects … it’s great for the price point

Short answer: yes. The trap and PKE by themselves would cost around $500 to build

Agreed and even then it’d struggle to have all of the functionality

This HasLab project met it's 10,000 backers in 3 days. And it's about to pass 14,000 backers this week. I'm certain it will reach all 3 stretch goals and break the 18,000 backers.

I sure hope it reaches all 3 stretch goals. If there’s a beef I have with this Haslab, it’s timing. It’d be nice if it was earlier in the year instead of hitting credit cards a couple of weeks before Christmas.

It just reached 19,340 tonight! It looks like we'll be getting that bonus "Ghostbusters engineering department" patch unlocked at 20,000 backers. It was teased by the folks from HasLab on Adam Savage's @tested video 2 days ago, when he inspected the prototype trap and PKE meter.

I backed day one but now I'm trying to decide if I need 2 traps. Kinda wish you could just back extra traps.

I love it! I backed it the first day and am considering getting 1-2 more. Maybe I can trade for a spengler pack.

Of course I would like it cheaper but I believe it's a decent deal. I backed it maybe I'll visit the Firehouse and do a video when it arrives.😂

It’s costing me $700 in Australia… we don’t have access to haslab here only through retailers It sucks arse The current exchange rate is $300USD equals $452.73 AU We get absolutely ripped off down here. Also I absolutely ordered one! What choice do we have down under? I am not paying scalpers for it

There's Australian retailers that have these as a normal preorder? Which stores?

Try to get a trap that is screen accurate with the features that this one has for anything less than $300. You MIGHT find one, but I doubt it. Much less getting a screen accurate pke with it. $300 for this campaign is a great price.

I remember with Matty collector that the trap was 200 and the ple was 80. But as you said the trap was cheap and the ple meter, which I actually have, is on but that annoying beeping is not the sound of a ple meter. The one from haslab, if correct does sound like slthe original pke meter and the price is amazing for both. Well worth it especially if everything gets unlocked.

Matty's PKE 1st run was $60+s/h/tax, 2nd run was $70. From my invoice the Trap was $152 and change. A lot of people have started selling their Matty pieces, but not me. Those were the gold standard, right up until this set. Sell? No. Retire? Yes.

Is no one surprised that they would make a working pke meter? It is going to have an emf detector built in that the wings and unit will respond to if you were “ghost hunting”. If you watch people who do “real” ghost hunting that is the device that they use to detect ghosts.

im actually surprised they didnt attempt to charger more, almost as much for the pack considering once the campaign is over they'll never make them again

comparatively to other offerings definitely worth it, but I will pass. One thing we learned from the proton pack is they are awesome, but to make the price point there are a whole bunch that buyers will want to upgrade in the end, and unlike the proton pack there are viable print projects, and inexpensive costume offerings that can be modded almost as well for less. The Proton Pack is the GB fan's grail piece, these are just accessories in the end.

as for accuracy the arms are not motor controlled and have to be manually retracted adn do not have the led's on the underside of the arms like the actual afterlife prop.
@tord6725
@tord6725 8 месяцев назад
I don’t ever remember seeing lights on the underside of the arms. The arms were hollow and U shaped so I think it was just the led’s just shining through.
@Starch-Wreck

PKE NEVER had lights on the underside. The current display items are not retail props and still being reworked.

You all crap on Marty Collector, but watch, you are gonna get this Hasbro version, and you are gonna crap on that too because it has “issues”. Easy to be critical after hindsight.
