Have the X2D 100c. Tried the M11, later the SL2 and even recently a q3...none compare to the x2d. The Leica owners I know that are photographers...all agree. The files are better. The data are better. The color is better. Leica is great, but it is past its peak...Hasselblad was past its peak but has been reborn. Both cost too much. Both are very high quality. Both are suboptimal for fast action....get a Z9 for fast action....the Hasselblad is the best camera made today. Leica is the best branding/veblan of camera today. There is a difference. Ironically, the Hasselblad support is better. The build is better. The lenses are better (it may be the correction is better in camera too). The Hasselblad is handmade. It shows. Once they get their focus to be faster...the x2d will be perfect...and note, it is pretty fast and I use the zoom with a lot of heavy glass in it....and it is fast. Focus on the M11 is a disaster....hand shake blur is a problem on the M11 too....the ibis on the Hasselblad....1/2s exposures are quite realistic....game changing. The q3 is better than the M11 in my opinion ...something to note and in these circles it is sort of a good deal.
all true. But if you want a high image quality range finder its the only one. For some some people its good and they take more intentional photos even if the fokus is not on point. Also for a 35mm system its 800g vs 1200g and bigger dimensions. These camera are all niche and I think you are right when it comes to pure image quality. But there are other factors fir different people. But the price of leica is out of this universe.
I gotta say, I completely disagree with the claim that the files produced by that camera are better. My x2d photos (in auto, JPG) were so dark and unusable without some serious post-processing. I sold that camera after just two weeks, took a huge loss, and switched to theos at the store agreed that the M11 was the better option for most people, unless you're a studio-only professional with a lot of time for post-processing. Plus, the autofocus was subpar, so manual focus was the way to go with the M11. Honestly, I don't think that camera is a good choice for most people, and those reviews and comments that say otherwise are just not telling the truth. M11.
I have both. One is not better than the other. They are different cameras. Leica is light, small, none intrusive and (when you master the zone focus technique) blazing fast. The x2d indeed best 'portable' image quality I have ever seen 😃
I have an m11 but I’ve been considering changing to the X2D or maybe the 907c 100. I really like the uniqueness of the 907 but I’ve been a Leica shooter for so long and kinda nervous to sell it all for hasselblad. I also agree with you on the m11 handshaking problem. When I shoot at 60mp I really have to weary of my shutter speed cause I get shake with even double the focal length in exposure.
I have to say after using my x2d for more than half year. I'm extremely satisfy by the images quality and result. I used to use leica, but when you compare with the images quality hasselblad is winning by miles.
There is no 'better' they do different things for different people - Pro for 35yrs no-one questioned why my studio has 10x8, 5X4, 6X9, 6x8,, 6x7, and 6x6 - with each camera being from a different manufacturer - now I use digi - Hass, H6D 100c, (T+S), Hass 100,CFv,, (mostly for copy work), Hass X2D, (for field work), FujiGFX (110 T+S, extension tubes, GF250 and 400mpx). If I needed a Leica for work or pleasure to full-fill a particular role I would get one - and as much I respect all brands, cameras don't take pictures - people do!! That said I do have a Fuji X100VI with me at all times -and with the little Tele and wide adaptors - it replaced the X100T - have fun all
You should not compare the cost, but the quality of the photos. H2D will be better in landscapes F8+, Leica M11 will be better when photographing in the open (due to optics). The color is very close, because. the matrix is the same from Sony. And not always the color from H2D is better, it is often just more beautiful. And yes, I have them.
Studio Photography, Product photography, Landscape & Real estate photography, by the color science, iq and high resolution this camera is far superior than any leica canon nikon or sony products
Ill also disagree on that, the leica M series is literally the saying of "if nothing is wrong dont change it". Its a very unique experience and especially when travelling and in the streets. As for the X2D its more in line of an upgrade compared to the X1D and is more useful in the sense that the JPEG and raw files are more color accurate. This makes it so that when doing shoots when your emphasizing more on the materials and colors like in fashion photoshoots, the hasselblad is considerably better. I know of situations where brands look for the type of camera you use and not your skillbase. For instance, someone carrying a hasselblad X2D vs a Nikon Z9 entered the room, high chance the X2D would be chosen as they want the color rendition. Not only that but the flash for the X2D is really good, being able to stop down to 1/2000 or 1/800 while using flash makes using flash outdoors in the sun so much more viable and cheaper when travelling globally and more versatile. I think what you are looking at is from a modern photography standpoint where we overedit everything and use photoshop to elevate images to a high level. In that case then any camera would be better then the X2D or Leica as you can use the cameras autofocus to burst fire shots and bring it to post and use software to increase the megapixels and photoshop to play around. Honestly in my opinion most modern cameras that people use over rely on the autofocus and face detect, but for the leica and hasselblad it becomes paramount to focus the shot and makes it where you take lesser shots but the quality is increased by a good chunk.
Yea right. That is why they are both represented over decades as the source of images across the complete range of genre's. As a photographer of 40 years and having owned them all... the M11P I currently use is the pinnacle. If I had got out of bed on the other side the day bought the Leica maybe it would have been the Blad. Both are stellar!!!
