It's Hate Eternal's style, they generally bury the guitars to give a wall of sound. Always have, and still do it on Fury and Flames. I think it suits them.
@@alex_scrw_ruzzia yes rung a bell re-checked him out. I was a fan of vital remains for sure. He is more classical virtuoso style. Rutan solos are short but very surreal always. The work on the Morbid Angel domination album is for me unsurpassed aesthetically. The lead work on the first Hate eternal album is also out of this world. It's just this vibe man.
***** I was talking about the literal audio and video quality of this music video since it was uploaded back in 2007. Not that the state of death metal was really good in 2007, even though it was. Thanks for not being one of those insane extreme metal fans.
Not only that, but considering Erik Rutan has been playing death metal for over twenty years, I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Who cares when this album came out? It's a fucking testament to the fact that metal is still alive and killing.
triggers are what essentially elctric drum, when you hit it triggers a smaple of a bass drum, and its mono tonus so you can hi it as light our as heavy as you want with it making the same sound. so people use them to barley tap the bass drum and make it sound like there going uber fast.
Playing in Des Moines tonight. Can't fucking wait! Saw them about 7 or 8 years ago and they tore it up. Erik Rutan is also a very cool fellow. Stood around and talked for a half hour or so and he is super cool and very humble for a god of Death Metal...
I've listened to slipknot since I was 14. I'm 18 now, and listen to everything from Megadeth and Slayer to Cannibal Corpse and Devildriver, etc. Slipknot got me into metal, and I still like them. Well, up until the last 2 albums when they sold out... Might be a phase to some people, but alot of people dont stop liking a band because they get into a different type of music.
I respect your mature response. Better then some of the people who post comments. Whenever I saw them, he sucked live. Anytime I seem to watch his live videos on here he sucks. I don't know. I don't think I'm being overbiased but to each his own. And yes, Hate Eternal most definitely rules.
yeah alex webster does play bass for hate eternal but, i saw them 4 days ago and they only had the other guitarist on bass, another on drums and the vocalist on guitar only 3 ppl
just so you all know derek roddy is the drummer....wears a shirt that says got drums cuz its the drum store where he goes shirt...ressurection drums in fort lauderdale fl....he used to work their and still visits frequently...i go there all the time and hes there all the time..
Ok which of these Death metal bands do you think the most brutal is because ive been debating this for a while and wanna hear from the fans. 1.Deicide 2.Nile 3.Behemoth 4.Hate Eternal 5.Suffocation 6.Cannibal Corpse And im pretty sure that there are probably other more brutal ones out there but these are the main headliners for me.
so... unbelievable... freakin AWSOME! :D this is the first song ive heard from HE and im shocked how good it is! :O i could listen to this song all day ^^ thumbs up for this song! and for HATE ETERNAL!
@dusted04 core is core, metal is metal. why would someone put 2 completely different things in the same category? it's like throwing house and classical in the same categor, it simly doesnt work!
It´s a matter of tastes dude. You can´t understand whats so fascinating in this music since you don´t like it. This is wether a good nor a bad thing. For example I listened yesterday to 4 Death metal albums in a row of which two were of Hate Eternal while driving for multiple hours. I had goosebumps on many songs and I see clear and obvious differences between bands, albums and single songs since I´m used to this sounds. It´s just about tastes, end of the story
I respect all types of metal, regardless of its age, origin etc etc. Each to their own for people who have been around to witness old school metal back in the 80's and 90's as i am sure it would have been epic. Myself, prefer modern metal because its apart of this day and age now.
That is true, but normally bands tend to tour when they release a record. So for that to happen Hate Eternal would have to drop a new record around the same time Cannibal Corpse drops "Evisceration Plague".
kissingtheshadows41 you're completely right! it's no deahtcore it's "just" death metal. it's cool to know that other people know as much about metal as me =)
@givemeajackson you missed the point completely mate ! what i meant was me and a shit load of other heavy music fans are getting sick of all the sub genre's people put on heavy music ! at the end of the day its all just heavy metal.
Ummm. Alex was on bass for Hate Eternal in '97 Jared was after, he died in '06 Alex came back for Fury and Flames in '08 I even just read an interview with Rutan talking about Jared, his former friend and "great bassist"
Agreed to a degree :P I've only seen a few rap artists live on dvd's but they have been off the HOOK! It could just be psychopathic that actually hold it down live i dont know but they're beast. I saw entombed a few days ago and they were spot on.
agree 100% that was their best album so far. 1. conquering the throne 2. I monarch 3. king of all kings i really dont like king of all kings, they just didnt have it, it seemed too forced with not enough feeling,to me the best DM albums have feeling/soul/ blood sweat poured into the music, some people think DM is just screaming, blasting beating and tritones, but its more then that, you gotta have a certain feel for it or it just seems generic and tasteless or you're trying too hard
If you don't like the band, you can: 1) say you don't like it, and say why (constructive critic). 2)just close the window. ...is it necessary to insult each other?
Well, Encyclopedia Mettalum is apparently as about as reliable as Wikipedia. Because Webster said himself to me personally that he was only filling in for one album, because he happened to be working with Eric Rutan on Kill at the time, and he needed someone to fill in after Jared Anderson died.
@Hitchhikeroftheyear You can try Conquering The Throne, King Of All Kings and I Monarch, they're pretty good, believe me. I don't have Fury and Flames but I heard that it was a good album. Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is just perfect. Hate Eternal rules.
@ibanezjackson Are you serious? Thats awesome man. I've seen Nile before and I'm seeing Hate Eternal for the first time this August, but both of them in the same show would be intense as HELL.
It's a part of the genre. I happen to like most guttural and death metal vocals, screaming is good too when it's done right, with bands like Dying Fetus who have the trade off gutturals with higher pitch screams and Hate Eternal in this vid, not how it's done in metalcore and screamo though. Anyways, that's how I feel about the vocals.
I don't really like Death Metal at all but people who say it's only noise should know you have to be an amazing musician to play it right, especially drummers hehe. It's not noise, it's amazing speed and kick ass techique hehe.
Don't crucify me for asking but other than the brilliant Derek Roddy, what is it about this band that makes them unique in the genre? I get what they are all about. Amazing musicians. But, I just think they could do better. I just find myself mesmerized by the drumming and all the rest just gets lost. Just sayin'!
Uh, that's Erik Rutan, not Alex Webster. As in Erik Rutan of Ripping Corpse and Morbid Angel, who's ever so slightly the brains of the band. Webster only got involved for the recording of Fury and Flames (album after this) after Jared Anderson died. No touring.
