Even weightless bulgarian split squats are brutal. Marcus, are you doing isometric sandbag holds (also heavy) regulary and what are your experiences with it? I love the Feeling of Holding a heavy sandbag for a few minutes a couple of sets, especially before get into my deadlift session. I guess it helped me a lot, because my entire Hamstrings and lower back muscles are so on fire 🔥

How are they hard? I'm not the best squatter but I could do like 30 Bulgarians in a row

@@ictogon Hey. Bulgarian split squats are very good. Avoid too much of "junk volume", that means dont do for example 5 sets of 40-50 reps per leg. Yes, of course you will get sort muscles and you will feel glutes and quads extremly well. Instead do typical strength sets and use kettlebells, Dumbbells or a barbell - weighted bulgarian split squats. Focus on Tempo and stabilisation, dont rush your sets. Have a nice day.

To be honest both the Bulgarian split squat and the traditional squat were my least favorite movements for legs, and they slowly became my favorites. Especially the Bulgarian split squat. absolute torture but it truly gives the best leg pumps 😅

I actually enjoy bulgarian split sqauts they don’t hurt me at all, i only feel the strain in my muscles none in my joints great movement for me

I would do anything just to be able to squat without fear anymore. I had a meniscus surgery and while recovering, tweaked BOTH of my hamstrings. I’m scared to do anything anymore. I’m wearing knee compression sleeves and using icy hot every day. I just want this to end.

i love heavy barbell squats. anything legs i like more than chest or arms. Love plyos cardio squats steps ups sprints etc. Hate benching tho😭
