Hatfield Cemetery Outside Sarah, Ann, WV 

Interesting thank you for sharing. I am a Hatfield/McCoy, my maiden name is McCoy. I always knew I was related, recently while working on my family tree I discovered how closely related I was. My great grandmother was a Hatfield, and My great grandfather was a McCoy, when they had my Grandfather they gave him Hatfield as a middle name, he did not use Hatfield but simply used an H. as his middle identifier. We are part of the clans that broke away during the feud and moved west to Dryad, Washington. There were many Hatfield McCoy's who married each other and chose not to participate in the fued. My great great grandmother Louisa Cantrell Hatfield delivered both of her grandchildren in her cabin in the woods of Wharncliffe W.V. She was the matriarch who along with her husband and children chose to move west. They eventually settled in the small community of Ada, Oregon, where she would live out the rest of her days. She lived to her late 90's and passed peacefully in 1954, she is buried next to her son William Riley Hatfield who succumbed to pneumonia in 1929. I hope you found this interesting.

@@garrinhatfield40 Where are you from? I knew so many Hatfields descendants when I lived there. It was almost unreal. Some of them were really good to me and I have great memories of the area.

@@garrinhatfield40 I went to Stirrat grade school for a year. Same went for Omar Junior high. I might have met you before. Which of Devil Anses' boys are you descended from? BTW I was bowlegged as a kid....you may have seen me or my uncle before.
