Please do more talks and shows. Watched kids grow up and always enjoyed. I went to Hatfield McCoy for the first time because of your show and have loved ever since.
Life is an adventure. Wether it's getting caught on a train track or watching kids grow up or working your ass off for a living. It's just fun being able to sit back and reminisce down the road. It's up to you how you live it to enjoy it. I AGREE about taking things for granted. Pennsylvania now has the pilot trails and you have the few that abuse it. Frustrates me to no end. Keep on riding and enjoying life's adventures. Thank you for" keeping it real ".
We are doing Live Talk in our Off-Road Family, we’re getting ready to launch our own community & app for the Off-Road Family in a week or two. . Stay tuned for the announcement my friend. 👍🏼
Looks like a great time at the Braveheart trail system. Lots of things to see when going to the Mann Gilbert area. Really like the talk around the campfire, telling stories type of video👍🏼 We have been fortunate enough to visit most of the Hatfield McCoy Trail systems, but one of my favorites days was when we were riding with you guys to the newly opened Warrior Trail System. Not sure if you remember but we got the Police escort to the Warrior trail, and I think he even had his lights on. That day was the Maiden Voyage of the “No Turn Talon”! Hope you are all doing well, and spoil that Grand Baby! Jesse-Laura
Yes sir, I remember that ride. Good to hear from you buddy! Just an FYI, we have our own Off-Road Family social community & App launching soon, should be up and running early February. We’re back to doing Live Talk in the family on Facebook & RU-vid. We also have another Reunion scheduled and we’ll be scheduling more rides. Hope y’all are doing great, take care my friend!
This was a great video, brings back memories. Wife and I were at HM the exact same weekend, I remember finding out Braveheart closed and our plans changed. We were going to stay 3 days at Ashland Resort and then head north and stay 3 more at Twin Hollow. I had planned it for months, knew where the horses were and was going to find the elusive mountain goat on Devil Anse , even had all my restaurants planned out. Rained the first 3 days and tons of mud on the southern systems. Like you we got a call from our daughter but she was babysitting our sick dog. She took a turn for the worst and we made a decision late at night to leave the next morning because we knew the dog was not going to make it. We drove 500 miles back to PA and got to spend some time with the dog before having to put her down. So it was not a great trip, but we did get to ride a few good trails between the raindrops. We have another trip planned for mid May. The highlight for us was riding Cabwalingo on our way down and her telling me she could drive these trails by herself and I could ride my dirt bike at the same time on our next trip. I guess the best thing I learned is that I am lucky to have a trooper for a wife like yours, not too many of them would want to stick with us on the misadventures that always seem to find us.
So sorry to hear about your dog Matthew, we had the same thing happen a few years back with our dog Max. We were at the airport getting ready to get on a plane flying back from SEMA. Our son Brady called and said Max was dying, unfortunately, we did not make it home in time. Guys like us need a good woman to put up with us. LOL. Hope y’all enjoy your next trip back to H&M! Thank you for watching and sharing your story.
Thank you, we made it back just in time which good for all of us. Watching you and Melissa reminds me how my wife and I are, we are almost like mirror images. I'm hoping for a good trip this spring.@@FishersOffRoad
Keep 'en it real with a fireside chat was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it immensely, especially since I didn't have smoke in my eyes. I noticed your visitor/observer and that was a very skinny bear or most probably a mountain lion. Might have been a bobcat but it appeared much larger than my Missouri bobcats. As an aside : Because of your influence I bought a '22 RMax4 Limited Edition from Yeagers in Sedalia. It is a great rig and I appreciate your on going comments.
The holes lined up in a row are auger holes in a coal vane. I talked with an older gentleman in Gilbert that worked on one of the machines. He said it was similar to drilling a well, but horizontal. They just augered the coal out.
You’re right about trash Brian! Pack it out! My family and I went to Hatfield McCoy (Warrior, Pinnacle Creek, Pocahontas and Indian Ridge) last June. Absolutely gorgeous. We stayed right down from where you got hung up on those tracks. My brother and I noticed all the scrapes in the pavement from trailers. Side note: I own a Can Am Commander Max and love it! Thank you for your review and while back, it made my decision!
Loved the flash backs. Nice to just sit around a camp fire and chill. Snacks are the best part of off roading. Got to have jerky and most importantly it needs to be wild bills beef jerky. 🤘
Awesome video guys. Time flies I remembered watching the episode when toy hauler got stuck on TV. There is no ATV park that compares to Hartsfield & McCoy's. We done 8 of the parks. Our favorite is Ivy Branch, and Pocahontas.
When you mentioned Rockhouse, I remembered a motel a couple miles from the trailhead in Gilbert. At the end of the day, they would have a fire and everyone would just gather and hang out. I think the owners name was Ken? Only stayed there a couple times but really enjoyed that experience. I think you guys filmed there with some country artists several years ago. Hope all is well.
we rode it the day they decided to close. It had rained for days prior and it was a muddy mess. It is a nice system, but it does have some issues that need to be addressed.
Congratulations Brian and Melissa, Bree and her husband on there New addition. It was funny about the snacks. My wife and I took our step daughter up to H and M. I wanted to take them to Pineville to eat Mexican. We pulled into ashland , unloaded. I did not remember how far it was to Pineville from Ashland. Just FYI ,it is 30 miles by trail. We got out on the trail and after a while we stopped for a snack. Wife asked me where the snacks were. Told her I got the water, snacks were her job. Long story short, we had fun, but she was not to happy. We love H and M. We live in Statesville, NC. We ride up Bramwell and come home the same day. Go to Gilbert when we have longer weekends. Look fwd to more videos. Hope y'all have a great 2024.

@FishersOffRoad we are hoping so ! Looks like some great views ! Do you have any place on the Northern trails selling your merch ? We rode the southern trails last April but never made it over to Gold and Blue Cabins to get anything unfortunately.
We’ve had a fifth wheel since 1999 and the campfire was best thing about camping. Our son is 27 and married and still remembers all the trips we made !!!!
The holes that I seen just a few minutes into your vlog is auger holes ,like huge drill bits that cuts into the coal and it augers the coal back out to the outside ,as the auger goes deeper another flight of auger is put bebind the first one and it augers till another flight is added....
Great video! Wife & I are moving from AZ to TN in the next few months, & gonna need some riding buddies!! Hey... question about the tiki torch lights that I see in the video. Are they for ambulance... or for at night to keep predators away? Need to learn the TN ways!! Thanks so much. Randy
We’ve been watching & rewatching since it went up. Not sure, we think it was a bobcat, but that would be a huge bobcat because it was 70 yards away from where the camera was set up. We do have Mountain lion in our area, but we do not see a tail on that cat.
Punch mines. They call them punch mines. Believe it or not, miners would tie a pick to their leg and crawl up to a mile on their belly to mine coal and would push it down past their belly and then kick it back with their feet to a guy behind them who would load the coal into a bag he had tied to his leg and then he would crawl back to the access up to a mile and there’d be a donkey with a cart that they’d dump the coal in and then crawl back in the hole and crawl up to a mile on their belly back to the first guy and do that all day
Evidently this fellow hasn't spent much time around the mining industry!!! The holes you see were done with machinery. The holes were drilled 2 to 3 hundred feet deep all around the side of the hill or mountain. It's called auger mining!!!
We were asked to ride it before it opened and yes it is very tame but a great trail for novice riders. They have some issues that will require a little time to correct.
We had several X2 850’s in our rental fleet, they served us well. The new X2 1000 is light years ahead of the 850s. It has everything you need power comfort nimble handling on the trails. Etc. How do you like yours?
Yeah smooth, until all the crack heads get on them with their 38,40 and 42s with the pedal to the floor always spinning the tires and rutting all the roads up in just a couple of years and ruining for others that just like to get out for a scenic trail ride.
