I was about 12 years old when a catholic priest stopped the mass and called out a woman tried to comfort a crying baby. "Take that baby out of here." I won't recount his history after he died reported in the "Catholic Review". Four years ago a Catholic priest, before he began mass, in front of the congregation, told a woman to change her sweatshirt or leave. My wife looked at me and said, maybe that's the best shirt she has. And yet, a Presbyterian minister a year later stopped his service so a distressed woman could voice her anxiety to the congregation. I doubt that Jesus was ever the loudest voice in the room at the last supper.
Well, you got me back into community, Rev, so I'd say you're qualified. 😊 I don't think you even know you worked a minor miracle that day, when you stopped and answered my odd, out of the blue questions. Yet here I am, at church twice a week, with people I'm now counting as friends in heart and spirit, finding my path back to being comforted in my faith again.

A couple of things that have been around for more than 50 years dealing with the priesthood of all believers are, a little volume entitled (remember this comes from the '60's) "Every Man A Minister" published by Concordia Publishing House. I'm sure that just from the number of copies I purchased for congregations, there are copies floating around on the "used" market. Then a mentor of mine wrote a congregational development course in the '70's entitled: "Training and Equipping the Saints for the Ministry of God" self published through an organization he built and probably not easily available but his name was Don Abdon. Good reads for those wanting to live their faith out where everyone can see their lives in the light of God's guiding.
I saw this yesterday and came this close to sending it to you. I am thinking that there is too much emphasis on individual redemption rather than fellowship and community in today's church. Redemption is guaranteed, we don't have to waste the energy that could go to serving our brothers and sisters. This preacher is the result of redemption over stewardship, self-interest over compassion and "Jesus is my buddy" over asking, what do you require of me, Lord.
I want to thank you Reverand Trevors for your uplifting messages every day. I am so blessed to have found you on RU-vid. I am a Christian, raised and saved as a Southern Baptist, but over the past number of years I have felt that my understanding, and my Christian values and life have been abandoned by what is being preached and taught in evangelical churches now. It is like the Christian life that I try to lead has been stolen by some other form of teaching. Consequently, in order to preserve my human, sinner attempts to live as Jesus taught, I have stopped going to church. It is not that I have abandoned the church, but I feel that the church has abandoned me. I have sought out multiple churches, but I detect the message's corrupting influences of politics in them all. I do not want to go to church and be told what my politics should be. I want to go to church to be inspired and uplifted and encouraged to understand and live as much as I can as Christ taught. Until I found your youtube page, I was afraid that my Christian life was becoming extinct. You give me HOPE. Thank You!
I consider myself more of a Christian-flavored Universalist at this point, but I can really sympathize with this view. Reverend Trevors is spreading a good message, and I pray that it catches on.
If this "ruler's" audience watched this happen, then listened to his challenge, as a body they should have TOGETHER gotten up and walked out, leaving him with the parish he deserved. If they sat in compliance with him, they are guilty of raising him above God.

It is sad that there are ministers there are priests who will not allow others to preach or to speak extemporaneously in their churches. Unfortunately it has happened to me that when I have asked if I could say a few words not even from the pulpit but from the lectern were the Epistles were red that I was not allowed to do it. I did not disobey what the priest told me that I could not even say a few extemporaneous words. I did not create a Ruckus or anything like that but having been an ordained minister for quite a long time at that point it did bother me that this priest did not have enough charity to let me even say a few words. Back when I was a United Methodist Minister a Roman Catholic priests allowed me to stand up in front of his Parish and give it talk during Lent.
I’ve been watching Owen for a few years now. He’s had a big chunk of his focus on Christian Nationalism in the US. Very informative, enlightening and well researched.

. Respect: Sometime in my teens or twenties I came to the realization that "RESPECT" is a commodity ! It can be earned with honest hard work or showing character , Or bestowed upon acquiring a honorable position . It can also be squandered by illicit behavior . I have yet to meet anyone demanding "THE RESPECT DUE THEIR POSITION" , Who did half as much to earn respect , as they did to the diminish the position's . We now have two groups opposing each other across a chasm of respect ! One group has struggled valiantly to rise from their difficult origins , to overcome hardships physical and legal to labor honorably in jobs that were going unfilled for lack of any local willing workers .And And another group who look down form their high positions , and call the first group illegal "VERMIN" , And make up false stories , to increase the difficulties the lower group are already subject to ! Which of these groups is earning respect ? And which is demonstrating that they deserve none ? !
As a pastor, if someone came forward in the middle of the service and asked to pray, I would stop and allow it and invite anyone who felt so moved. I have no right to stop the Holy Spirit.
Amen. I feel kind of bad because I snap on guys like that and remind them that the glory is God's and His alone. I don't understand people who sit there and clap as if that behavior is ok, to take glory for themselves. I keep praying that God gives me more patience because some days, I just don't have it. 🙏🙏🙏
I used to have a lot of patience, but the 4 years of Trump's administration wore it down. I'm still working to rebuild it. I know that as one of the fruitages ofn God's spirit, patience is a vital quality to display. So I too make it a regular request on my prayers.
My Dad would beat us up. 3 of us he put through the wall, at different times. 2 of my broken noses he gave me. He developed parkinson's in his later years, where he was bedbound. He had to be fed amd changed. He ask me one day,, why I was so nice, I told him it was my duty as a follower of Christ....😢😢😢
Watched about half the video. Couldn’t take any more. I’ve screened for domestic abuse. Usually the abuser has been abused. Not excusing anyone, but explaining. It’s such a vicious circle. The last place this guy should be is preaching in the name of Jesus. Sick.
Matthew 23:4-7: "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi."
One Sunday, I was so upset with my parents' church, I stood across the street and shouted that whole chapter at them several times through, in "prophetic protest" against how they were treating me as an autistic trans person. It's a very strongly-worded passage, to say the least.

Nothing makes me angrier than people who puff themselves up with pious self-righteousness while ignoring the plain text and meaning of the Scriptures they claim to represent. Verily, they are "blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel."
I don't understand why the entire congregation don't just walk out on hate preachers. Other churches are available if you feel the need for a public service, or you can just pray quietly as Jesus suggested. Prayer doesn't need an audience.
I'm not going to go look for the clip, but I'd like to know how his congregation reacted to that incident. Chances are, they cheered. If so, they are as much at fault as he is. We see that in so many hate-preacher videos, especially those who want to denounce and put down "outsiders".
There is also the "Priesthood of Melchizedek" from Hebrews 6:20. Melchizedek was the man who ministered to Abram/Abraham in Genesis 14:18. We don't know where he came from or who his parents were. He certainly wasn't a member of the tribe of Levi, but he was a priest all the same.
Remember our discussion of the Jezebel spirit? This guy Steven Anderson who said, "I am the man of God here!" just might have it. Jezebels need to be in absolute, uncontested control. (I'm not saying that he has this spirit for sure, nor am I saying that every control freak is a Jezebel.)
People like that man are the reason I do not participate in organized religion in a church. I saw too much crazy in my granny’s church when growing up and I want nothing to do with that ever again. I’ll talk to God on my own. I’ve learned a lot on this channel, and if Trump wins I’ve thought about moving to Canada if they’ll let me in. Then I could go to Rev. Ed’s church.
can you just imagine a conversation between jesus and steve would be like you know that person who wanted to pray i sent him along with joe,scott,tom and you did not accept the blessings,the angle,the humble person and you rejected all of them..... growing up in a church then other churches i seen a common theme the click of a church calling out the "trouble makers" i find the parallels of jesus he too was a "trouble maker" anytime that these people have been tested their often fail i have tested many over the years i have tested people i dont mean to but that is part of my purpose god is watching though the eyes of those trouble makers a lot of people desire to be me but its no easy task to minister to someone in a car ride never enough time in the human world for their busy life who might be in the ground a month later to go to a church and be hated for existing what will they say when the things they missed was revealed to be right under their nose the whole time and missed it but because they didnt stop to love or smell the roses they will miss out on the eternal blessings
I'm not sure about the "priesthood of all believers" idea. It would be a disaster to have me run a church service. I don't know how to perform the rituals, my voice is horrible (good luck hearing me sing the service). I get that we're all called to serve God, but that doesn't really make me a priest. I'm just some random guy. It would also be damaging to the church to listen to me. Also, I see a risk to the concept: schism. I think allowing every random person to interpret the Bible however he/she sees fit led to this situation where Christianity is divided in thousands of denominations, including some which I'm not even sure are Christian.
The vast majority of churches are apostate at best. Few teach what Yeshua and His Disciples taught and preached the Gospel of the Kingdom , They taught return to Torah return to Yehovah, He never taught about His Death and resurrection. If any man teaches others to break the least of the COMMANDMENTS he will be nothing in the Kingdom. The Sabbath remains the 7th day not the pagan Sun worshipping day the 1st day. You teach and keep a pagan god's birthday for the Messiah's, You preach and teach Easter as Yehovah's Holy Days. Don't feel bad I was once ignorant of the truth, but unlike you I chose nor to remain ignorant.
