Hatikvah (The Hope) - A New Interpretation 

Today, I'm starting my first Hebrew lesson and I'm so excited! Hatikvah is one of my favourite National Anthems!

I have been going through a very tough time in my life. When I get down I need some uplifting. I turn to my heritage and the Jewish songs of my youth. Your voice brings me literally to tears in happy emotions. You are truly a gift to humanity. Your voice and emotion while you sing is incredible. Thank you

This is beautiful! My amazing Mom passed away. This was her favorite song. So this song is very special to me.

The music of the anthem is highly inspired from music found in Romanian folklore in Moldova. Romania and Moldova (and Eastern Europe) has been home for many Jews, because they were much more tolerant than their Western neighbors where Jews have been persecuted.

Its a amazing song..But just for remember all pains that Jewish people passed..i stay sad too..I see Haktiva like a "Shout of Help". May G'd make a justice with your people.

composer of the anthem is Shmuel Cohen (Samuel Kogan, 1870-1940), a young peasant Jew, originally from Ungheni, Bessarabia and settled in Palestine,The song chosen was of Romanian origin and movement in several regions of Romania, on different texts. The first is Song Mai, collected in Transylvania and published compozitorul- musicologist Timothy Popovici fit and optimistic spirit of the hymn: "The meadows were smart, green leaf peony Expensive clothes are dressed green leaf peony, Ca arrived on of our realm, green leaf peony, Craiul days in May, peony green sheet ....
