Hatsushima is an island that belongs to Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It floats in Sagami Nada, off the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, and is also the easternmost point of Shizuoka Prefecture. In old literature, there are also notations such as Namishima, Hashima, and Hatsu Ikushima. It is located about 10 km southeast of the mainland of Atami City and has a population of 193 and 114 households. Most of the inhabitants live in the Miyamae district, which is located in the northern part of the island.
