The Rabbit was especially brave here. He was absolutely terrified, but still decided to throw the cup at him just to keep the illusion of him being truly out of his mind. Terrific
I think he is completely off his rocker- but in such a way that allows him for a semblance of sanity. he simply acts completely 100% crazy instead so folks underestimate him
@caitlyncarvalho7637 haha, I mean some fake kind of legs that he has to walk on, I'm not too good at describing it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bdraJ1PPVzA.htmlsi=No3LALyMFOL9lg2w There are some mixed scenes but in the first half you can see
Here’s the funny part if you stick around with them long enough you get used to them throwing tea cups and other stuff at you then with a little practice you can avoid getting shattered pieces in you’re eye :)
I love the eyes in this scene...at least in the beginning. The March Hare’s eyes are all out of whack when he notices the Knave approaching, Cheshire’s eyes turn to slits before vanishing, Hatter’s eyes lighten a shade (or somehow get paler) when he’s choked, and you can see the switch in the Hound’s when he realizes the Hatter sides with him....and then there’s the Knave, who only has one eye. But still, I think they’re all great cinematic touches and I love them.
The hatters eyes change to a yellow or orange color when he gets angry. Maybe the hatters eyes lightened cause he was about to fight or get confrontational, but kept it together to protect Alice. Thats what I'd like to think.
the fact that they were more sane when Alice was with them that got to the point they needed to pretend to be more mad than what they were so the knave wouldn't be suspicious
A lot of people criticize the CGI in this, but this is one of the examples of how Tim Burtons weird imagination and insane artistic detail really shines. CGI is great for this because of how unnatural and unsettling it can look.
I hear from a lot of people how much they dislike this rendition of Alice in Wonderland, and I can understand their disappointment. Personally though, I will always love this movie. Its just so much fun!
I like how in this version of Alice in Wonderland, the Hatter, along with the rest of the characters are defending Alice when the Queen is onto her, unlike the original
@@samkresil6011 Sure, but some efforts were made to make Hatter more likable and multifaceted, with all that dramatic backstory, violent outbursts, etc.
Mygod if you say that I'm glad they didn't stick to the book lol. 'Cause hatter like this is definitely much better. My childhood would've been ruined if he was a villain😂
1:26 "Already lost them" His voice is the very same here as in a Jack Sparrow blooper video where he drinks something and then makes a funny face and asks "What's in there". In the very same voice! He's brilliant.
This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Mostly because it shows how madness is subjective and how they are living their reality their own way without a care in the world about anyone else’s reality.
YOUR ALL LATE FOR TEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this movie. It's a whole other thing than the sequel. Gloomy, but fun. Fantastic story that makes sense in its being totally non-sense (it is still a wonderland xD). The sequel shows that Tim Burton's touch is missing. Too much light, the tension you feel in scenes like this one from the first film is missing. All in order to be able to give a damn happy ending to the Queen of Hearts who didn't need it, to be able to empathize with her for her past and to make sense of her enormous head. She is a villain! It is the wonderland! I didn't care at all to empathize with her.
Actually that was the essence of Caroll's work who said for children there is sense in the nonsense most stuff, the nonsensical and free imagination unbound by reasons.
Mad hare got the best aim, knave has the best dodge due to dodging that empty cup and to top it all off the red card guard didn’t seem fazed by the cup throw(nice touch tho)
btw for anyone who is just as confused as I was “The Underland Underground Resistance is first mentioned by the Dormouse during the Mad Tea Party when she, The March Hare and the Mad Hatter say the sentence "Downal wyth Bluddy Behg Hid!" ("Down with the Bloody Big Head" in english) which Alice does not understand.”
I can tell that march hare and the door mouse has a great relationship since you can see how much they laugh more then the mad hatter has less hysteria in him.
We live in an age when all of these books from the "literary nonsense" and "fiction" genres of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries can be brought to life with stunning cgi. Imagine if Lewis Carroll could see this.
@@woozihae No, they don't. Beyond the designs, the characters themselves aren't very good. Alice is basically a brick wall throughout the movie with absolutely no emotion and kind of a bad motivation. Though I love Johnny's performance
Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder have so much in common cause Johnny Depp has played in charlie and the choclate factory and in alice in wonderland and Gene Wilder has played in willy wonka and the choclate factory and the classic alice in wonderland
@Brother Tengis He said "down with the bloody big head" which is his way of saying he hates teh Red Queen. The dog is apparently against the Red Queen as well, so he backed down when he heard that. (The reason the hatter is so hard to understand in that part is because he said it in a Scottish accent). Does that help?
**chokes** if your hiding her.. you'll loose your heads tarrant: already lost them **frees** tarrant: *voicecrack* all together now! this never gets old XDD
The most underrated actor of our time and the starch shirts in the academy that see it, this guy as an actor is so versatile and takes you on a journey with each character that is so unpredictable that you end up amazed and blown away as a spectator, don't know what he's like as a person but as an actor he blows all others out of the water, but too shy for my liking, ✌️ Neat.
