I used to do that. But I no longer go. I now pick and choose events. Choose work over events. It's better for my mental health. Mainly go to close families even though they make me feel the saddest. Sadly, people don't come help me because all they said was my late mother in law never attended. Make me question why they still said that when she's long gone already. She didn't come but I did. People should come help me because I went. I did two events and ran it myself with my spouse. Trained my spouse and our siblings both sides to help us. Guess I'm not the lucky nyab. I like watching your videos to gain more experience and knowledge. The only thing I'm still struggling with is how to prep and cook a cow.
Hi Paula, yes, we learn from our life experience and we learn to choose who we will help. I'm sorry that people keep on having attitude toward you and want you to play for the price of your MIL. I am married so far from my family and always go help my in laws. my mil always calls and makes sure I am there for every event because I am very active and fast when comes to cooking. Sometimes I have something come up and can’t make it she will cry to my husband and tell him to make sure I come help and she will use all these guilt trips on us like I help you guys watch babies and I help pay for your wife. But my mil never says that to the other Nyab when I go help early the other Nyab and Sil never come early to help or do anything but hold a beer and talk. When I do an event all my in-laws will always come late, come eat, pack then go home. My house is always a mess when they leave and I have to clean up by myself. I learn to take care of my health mental and only help when I can only instead of taking off work to help. Not worth it. I learned to prep a week before and watch all your RU-vid for tips for preparing an event thank you mee. People are always surprised when they see I cook everything myself. Anyway maybe I am not a good Nyab and maybe I don’t drink beer like my in-law. Idk but I learn to not wait for people and learn to do it myself instead. And yes Mee you’re right it is sad because you have to do everything yourself.
