That camera really fools the eye when it comes to the height of the machines like you said, wouldn't of believed it had i not seen the demonstration. show the truck height every now and then if you would. Nice job your doing by the way. I always look forward to this pond on your videos and thanks for taking your time for us !!!
When the haul truck was on the storage site quite a few weeks ago, someone commented that it was the wiring harness and that was well before the Volvo mechanic came out . Well, that guy should give himself a pat on the back.. 👏 🇬🇧
Worked for a guy several years ago that had 4- 320’s, a 322 and a 330. He ended up trading a 320 an the 322 in on 2 new 325’s and its a world of difference going from a 20 ton machine to a 25! First time I had a hydraulic thumb also and it spoiled me too!
Enjoyed seeing the different camera angles, thanks for that! And you are right, it’s hard to understand the size of everything until you stood next to the bucket!
A bad cable harness is not something you can see when you buy a machine. I guess you know you can lower the pressure in the front tires on an haul truck so it runs smoother. It does not affect the load capacity By the way, the pond is more like a lake nowadays.
If y'all get the rain up there we got in Pell City Alabama y'all will have mud! It has rained non stop for over two days and most of the time it has been hard rain
Glad mechanic got your truck fixed. She was sounding bad for a good while. Under body shot of the truck bogging through mud was cool, you seem to have a lot of faith in the camera mount you use to get them. 👏 for another good episode!
I'm glad they were able to figure out the problem with the A30, she wasn't sounding good on that earlier vid. Heard you did a good deed for Dirt Perfect(the EC140). Nice.
I know this might be different then a portable pressure washer, but I got mudding alot with my truck and I take a small gas powered sump pump. I use a bigger hose that what it was called for and a hight flow nozzle. It works great to clean off the mud truck when you got water close by. Then do the detail work later. So I know the what your saying is different but it might work out great.
Digging sand has to be the best. Dry would help a lot for having to load it, though. lol I don't think most people know a Volvo 250 is the smallest of the biggest and not the biggest of the small. There's a difference.
Rather than replace the bucket teeth, would it be more cost effective to rebuild them with a stick welder and hardfacing rod? There's probably a reason I'm unaware of. Cheers and be safe, Chris!
Some really nice clean sand coming out of the pond. Is that beach sand from thousands of years ago? Where I live in SC use to be beaches forever ago and have a lot of that same type of sand.
I love those trucks we have a25c they are so fun to run. So quick and glide over rough terrain. Wish they were easily diagnosed though. The C models had Volvo specific diag software. I think the d models and later had standard big truck software. Aka more betterer
Awesome video😁👍 I really love your videos, I've seen all of them. When you stand next to the bucket you understand the weight and power of the machines. Been fascinated by excavators all my life. Very good video👍👍
I bet you'd like to have a few haul-truck loads of that sand for your pastures to help grow all that grass! A couple scoops of that sand would grow carrots real good in a raised bed!
@@augustreil All of the nutrients and the fact it drains quickly. Also, he could mix the sand with his cow manure for better drainage, in the feeding area and fertilizer for his garden.
We get floods down here fairly often on the Pascagoula river, we always cut our grass as short as possible before the floods cuz the nutrients in the sand and mud that comes in makes it shoot up, that’s sand especially, I just hate having to wash it off with a 2 inch pump, would love to have a mini to scrape it right off the top, and to play with a machine of course
Five Grand for that little pile of wires? Oh Man. One wiring harness $125 bucks. Drive out to a remote location and work on said vehicle in the elements $4.875 bucks. Working In the company of Chris, Priceless.
Your wiring problem, sounds a lot like the problems that pop up on the International 7.3 used in Ford trucks. When the connection under the rocker cover messes up, it can take out the ICM real easy. BTDT on my E350. My truck now has a Dorman harness, with no plug to disconnect under the valve cover.
Killer Man !! Great as Always Chris.... Glad to hear the Dump Growlin' again !!! Lololol..... Heard ya say, you was glad to be back on your Big Rig !! and back to getting a Real Scoop !! and NOT getting those Teaspoons full...lololol .....Have a Great Evening !!!
Great video shots Chris. Funny thing is , I was watching you dig in the sand. Girlfriend puppy starts barking, I pause video and take her out. She runs over in the flower bed and starts digging like crazy and looking at me for praising and cheers. 🤔🤔🤔😎😎😎
I can’t believe Volvo charged you $5,000 for that new engine harness. I make harnesses for the Komatsu trucks in Peoria and that’s like a 1000-2000% mark up. Unless that $5,000 included all the labor too
Did the mechanic mention where the oil in the harness was originating from? I'd think an oil pressure switch....hopefully whatever the source, it was replaced. I've seen that happen with pressure switches, various sensors reading off cams/crank, and coolant level sensors. EDIT: I think I got my answer from another's comment. Part of the harness is inside/under the valve cover?
What would be the main reason for not using the dozer to grade the slopes between the creek and the pond? The excavator sure can move a lot of dirt but for this type of job surely the dozer must be more efficient?
NOW THATS WHAT YOU CALL A SAND PIT THERES MONEY TO BE MADE IF THE CUSTOMER WANTED TO SELL OFF A BIT OF IT TO THE LANDSCAPERS AND SOD GROWERS IN THE AREA SOD GROWS GOOD ON TOP OF THAT STUFF. DIESEL POWERED STEAM MACHINE ON BACK OF THE SERVICE TRUCK WOULD DO A NICE JOB WITH VERY LITTLE MOVING PARTS.
Hey buddy. Giving you a heads up. Dirt perfect is interested in biying a mew volvo smaller excavator to replace his john deere. Just relaying the message bud. God bless. Be safe
Well their not going to upgrade just for a tiny bit of trash on the ground and taking their time?? You rather they rush through it and still not fix it?? That costs even more duh
You should’ve got Andrew Camarata and his trucks to help you to haul out the spoil too, he could have a break from steel work on his container house...
I've often wondered how many people actually maintain their pond edges after all the effort you put into making the slope maintainable?? Most it seems don't from any return videos we've seen. That's a shame to not take care of such a beautiful addition to their property !!
Man I have for almost 30 years on my 2 acre pond and let me tell you it's getting to be a job now that I'm getting older. You still have to run a weed eater right next to the water.
TONY GENESEO i have a half acre, and yes, its a lot of work! All has to be done by hand cuz machines cant get in there right now. But it does need dredging, badly. Its 30 years old!
You gotta be the boss, you ask why well you seem to be the one that works all the time between machine and truck as the saying is a bosses job is never done but looking great 👍.
Dirt Boss Tri-County Masonry & Excavating your just saying that because it’s what -2 degrees at your shop. Lol. Got up to 70 degrees here today 😁. Stay safe and warm Dwayne
