Hi John, another cracking trip out. The thing that bothers me is if someone is prepared to haul your pots, then they will have taken undersized crabs and Lobsters. Thank you again for a great day out.
On top of being illegal (I would imagine) to harvest someone else's catch, it is so extremely disrespectful. I can't even imagine being that way. I'm glad you don't let it get to you much and keep your attitude so positive. You and the whole Fish Locker family bring an incredible amount of happiness, knowledge, and general positivity in the world and I truly look forward to your uploads. I appreciate you
I highly suggest you do what I used to do. Instead of a pot I would put a cement block and paint 'Caught you POACHER" on the cement block. Wish I could of seen their face when they pulled it up and read it. Cheers my friend. It's been windy here in Florida too. Had to cancel a few fishing charters on the account of the wind.
Glad you managed to get out as my fishing trip got cancelled due to the weather. People who steel from other people's hard work should be ashamed of themselves. Well done with your catches.
I love to watch your video's. From Holland. I liked your second cameraposition better. I hope that the person that emptied your pods ...... Hope to watch more on the Fishlocker in 5he future
Some you win and.... Hey Ho! Bad luck about the thieving 'whatname' John but pleased for the family that you got two lobsters. (Yum!!) Your question ref the camera angle..?? I think I still prefer the 'old way' 😉😊. Tight Lines my friend!
Hey John, I never comment on anyones videos but I'll make an exception this time. I live pretty close to you would like to thank you for helping me learn a little extra about fishing, pots and even cooking... Would love to pop by and grab some merch but I'll save it for the shop. Look after yourself!
Nice sailing rig that passed. It's harder for the sailing vessel to turn quickly. I know from experience. I've had both. We used to own a boat that won the Mackinac race back in, I think, in 1918. An antique wooden boat.
John i likes the second camera veiw best. Great video as ever. I grew up fishing the coast all the way from Saltburn through to Whitby. Settled in Scotland after a few years serving Queen and country. I would love to get out fishing in the southwest some time.
Good meal coming soon.Poachers exist mate, nothing we can do.Keep enjoying your craft, and thanks for the content John.We look forward.👍👍 Also John, thank you for returning the close ones. Most fisherman don't not realizing the consequences over time you are a credit to what we love!
In life, there are many corner-cutting fast-buck people.... Gps with depth indicator... I would go to Colombo mode. Love how you just get on with it... Down in South Wales soon... Naughty BBQ Lobsters think 500g females love to hear your thoughts on taste preference weight etc Keep up the good work great channel
Good afternoon John. Both camera positions work well. I doubt the thieves will be too concerned about the minimum landing sizes, with any luck they might drop themselves in it when the get back to shore. Good pair of lobsters none the less. 👍👍
Another interesting unloading of pots. Your first string camera angle seemed slightly higher and slightly further away compared with the second and third. To my mind it created slightly better viewing but there wasn't that much in it. No doubt you'll decide once you've had a look. Keep up the good work.
John. Would like to see the process of re-baiting and rope sorting prior to shooting the pots. also , are they weighted or anchored in any way to keep them stable on the bottom.
I am astounded on how upbeat and positive you are when your hard work is stolen right from underneath you. Thank you for putting a bright spot on a dreary day over here.
I preferred the 1st camera, the bit rate seemed larger hence a better picture, also, it seemed a wider and taller angle which I liked. No:1 for me! Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
Fantastic video. It really grinds my gears to see one of yr fleets has been raised and contents stolen. Man oh man shocking. Thanks for taking out and getting some sea time with you.
My friend had to fit metal cable ties to the first pot because the faithful were taking it all 1c loosely fitted metal cable ties it's stopped the problem just leave enough room to get pliers in to cut them off hope it helps mate
Nice one John 👍 2nd angle for me. I'm amazed your pots get left alone as much as they do, definitely a weak opportunist because could only lift the first one 🤣👍
Hello John, I was wondering if you'd seen the pots with the plastic plate attached onto the bottom with the tyre straps, it stops the crabs and lobbies getting claws through the bottom and getting stuck and potentially losing claws, I used to make pots (window, two eyes and parlour), dying art now though
We all love a bit of pot hauling. It's like a lottery, and we don't know what you will get. I am as excited as you when you get a sized catch. Is that a new tape measure? Do you know that you are on someone else's channel? The configuration of your boat was very different, so maybe an older video, but published recently ( on the hook fishing). Thanks for the great video
JOHN ,I WATCHED YOU CATCHING MONK FISH WITH A WINCH, and I wondered if you. Could devise a way of fitting a winch to your boat, I've seen how hard you work pulling the pots up, ?
Healthy fishery John. A lot of 88 or 89mm lobster so next year legal size. Happy days and thanks for the video. Can you do a cooking n prep of a lobster 🦞 for us all please. Cheers fella
New subscriber here! Love your videos, what a joke about the pot thief, you handled it like a true gentleman! All the best in your future endeavours and I’ll be happy to watch in future.
I think both camera angles are good. Go with what makes a better video according to you. You have a great eye! Glad you got your two lobsters, but sorry someone took that first pot already. Takes all kinds. My best to you and your family!!
In Mumbles, on the Gower coast , I had three mates with strings of pots, and it was customary, almost traditional to lift the other's pots and keep the catch. The 'keep pots' however were out of bounds as these were sold commercially. (I was sworn to secrecy).
The same old problems John year in year out with pots being tampered or robbed from,I guess it’s part and parcel of potting in general. I assume others in your area have the same problems too. I’m interested to know why that lobsters claw hadn’t grown back after losing it, is that common? , still, a couple nice snacks 🦞 for the graft mate , appreciate your efforts bud 👍🏼👍🏼
Superb stuff John, i think id have more of a chip on my shoulder if i knew people were helping themselves to my pots, but what you gonna do? cant baby sit the pots all week, is a shame though, if they emptied it probably means it had something decent in it, id love you to catch them in the act one day, would love to see that footage lol, thanks for sharing your trip with us mate
Hey up John both camera angles was spot on mate I’m just happy we get to see the effort you put into your fishing and potting it’s a shame people do this but would love to see the camera footage when you catch someone in your pots obviously privately 🤛🏼 😁but to be fair you do take it better than I would keep up the good work pal your a legend and learn us all loads of stuff top man all the best scott
Was it last year where people were robbing from your traps?? Awful. On another note good to see you on your boat again. You looked a lot happier . Even though the weather was terrible. Question, how does seaweed get into your traps.. to me, those holes are to small to let in that thick greenery?? Brilliant video. Thanks for sharing. May your pots never be empty. R❤
@@TheFishLocker I think I would too, but I hope it doesn't get that far, there's not much respect for people or property nowadays, caught two little scumbags messing around with my boat the other day
Theres always some prats out there isn't there. I could imagine there's some fisherman would use the thieves as bait for sharks if they found out who was nicking from their pots John. Catching the undersized lobsters bodes well for the future though. Hopefully they'll mate and there'll be even more to catch in future years too. I know one thing it wouldnt be me nicking the lobsters because you'd be able to follow the sea sickness trail right to my front door.😂
You are spoiling us John with the number of videos you’re posting for which many thanks. With regard to camera angle. Don’t think there is much in it. Personally, favoured the original second and third string. Hope you get through the tourist season without too many issues. 👍
I you have suffered theft from your pots on a number of occasions. I know that there’s not much you can do but you remain calm.I would be lived. Well done mate.
It's good that you don't get crabby about getting robbed, knowing that you can claw it back. It might be enough to tide you over for now, and I'm shore that you'll have your day in the hauls of justice.
ah yes the curse of the 88 mil haha! Beautiful haul nonetheless. That one female was so blue! I wonder if you could install a gopro or something to get eyes on these damn crab pot pilfers...anyway, thanks for sharing as always, John. Tight lines and full pots for you!
Sorry John, but it could be a local watching where you put your pots, cause the last ones that were taken were not in tourist season?? Kindest regards lovely.
Yo John love what you do love you channel been subbed for years. When's the next spargo cook up feels like it's been months hope all family are ok buddy wishing you all the very best 👊❤️
