Looks like a nice spot. I'm sure that Territory can do harder than you are doing, 4H (AWD) in my Pajero and I've done a lot more than I thought it would. Get yourself a snorkel and you will be cheering. I want to take the wife's Escape out and see what it is capable of. Make sure you check for any fire bans too mate, Forestry had Total Solid Fuel Fires for quite a while in all state forests especially Pine Forests, even over Easter for many.

yeah the Territory can go surprisingly hard - just always cautious just being on our own not to go crazy. I'm sure the Escape is more than capable too, it's must ground clearance I find that's the biggest tricky bit sometimes. Snorkel definitely on the list next, already had water in my intake (thankfully not past air filter), and yeah there were no fire bans as this was shot well into late May :)

@@alwaysAWD Yeah I think the Escape will do pretty well but the wife wants to keep it as a road car not one to take camping. Clearance can be an issue with any rig but picking the right lines really helps. You seem to be doing well. I have watched a couple of your videos now. When you dot he Snorkel make sure it is sealed up right, I had my mechanic do some work on the car and it was not sealed up, fortunately I had not done anything deep before I noticed. Yeah cool mate, so many people didn't even know about the fire bans let alone listen to them.

Time to look at a battery chainsaw. Tyre deflators are pretty easy. I will say some are better then others. Another idea is the auto one's. Set, clip on and forget. They deflate to what you set and stop.

yeah i think ive had enough of manual saw work haha, time to put the inverter to good use. I like the auto ones too, just set and forget - i think aussie arvo's mentioned a set they use.

@@alwaysAWD yeah think a few of them use the one's from outback equipment. On my list of thing's to buy after seeing them in action.

Ever tried using an air regulator to set a pressure and use it to deflate the tyres

nah but something worth trying for sure - great to hear all the feedback on this!

It should be impossible to pull out your valve using a deflator. You just need to make sure it's done up tight b4 undoing the ball shaped part. I now use the maxtrax indeflator as it makes it easier for deflating and inflating.

cheers for the tips, yeah i know it surprised me too. glad i found it in the grass last time - might check out the max trax kit 🤙

@@alwaysAWD a tip for you is to carry a few spare valves in your tyre plug kit
@alwaysAWD
@alwaysAWD 3 месяца назад
yep absolutely! bought a few in Lithgow before the trip

I've got a XTM one from BCF, Screw the thing on over the valve, remove the valve stem to deflate to desired pressure and then it screws the valve stem back in. Unless you don't screw it back in there is no chance of losing it. Also always a good idea to carry some spares. Cheap and small insurance.

@@OnCountryWithMick yep that seems to be the plan looking at the comments, i carry spare valves now so definitely prepared next time anything like that happens
