IcebearTV They don't do it in one night. The haunted mansion is closed for about 2 weeks. But they do decorate the entire park in one night. But they have so many people that help that one night of hard work is plenty of time!

It's normally about 4 weeks or so, but they cut it down to almost half that time this year. They were even boasting about it in articles recently.

I see what you’re saying but Halloween time starts in Sept ending in November I believe. It would just be a waste to take it down then put it back up. I mean for the rest of the year we have the og mansion

@@jakkibarman7925 exactly, it wouldnt be as chaotic if they didnt have an abundance of sounds. it harmonized so well. the minor versions of the christmas songs blend in with all the voices that it is very spooky

@@stn1812 They made room for star wars because it would be unusual to save that space for one roller coaster. They already had star wars in planning for a while now and would never replace it for something like that. Now there isnt any room over there at Disneyland

@@stn1812 One thing that I don't understand, is that, Star Wars has it's OWN land, and yet Tommorow Land has Star Tours, and Hyperspace Mountain (with references of Star Wars). I don't get why they would waste the land, when they could've build something better. Star Wars is very popular among people, but using all that space is really unnecessary when you are just going to have one ride.

They almost did at one point but Florida residents did not want the overlay, according to a survey done a few years ago. Tokyo Disneyland does a NBC version and they have virtually the same house design as WDW so the decorations went there.

I think they don't do the same thing in Disney World because it is more a World travel destination. But also Disneyland gets many to miss the opportunity to experience the original ride. For example, when my parents visit me and I bring them to Disneyland, they never get to ride the Original Haunted Mansion because the only times they can visit me is during Hollyday vacations, so they always refer to the Haunted Mansion as the "Jack Skellington ride".

The MJ Channel I went yesterday and had been eyeing wait times on the app. It was super not busy days before then yesterday: busy!! Waits on app not accurate? How was it when you went? At one point it said space Mtn 10 minutes. So I went over to Space and the sign out front said 50 mins! I looked at the app which then before my eyes jumped to 50 mins.

It's a major problem with this overlay...it causes the ride to stall multiple times for full minutes, which destroys the pacing and takes you right out of the vibe. I wouldn't mind if they wanted to do it for Christmas, but it really annoys me that they make a perfect Halloween ride all Christmas-y in September/October/November. If they changed it on November 1st, I'd never say a word against it...even if it does make the ride stall.
