Years ago I was learning how to barefoot ski on that lake and took a wild fall. What happened under water was creepy and I won’t forget it. Everything was surreal and unnaturally beautiful. I didn’t want to come back to the surface for air. Just instinctually I forced myself to. I had no idea the lake was haunted or what was below it at the time.
People died on the bridge. Over 50 people have sadly died, even the ghost of lake Lanier, her name was Delia May Parker Young, and her friend tragically died there. Her body was found a year later by a fisherman. That was one of the most tragic deaths there. Probably the 4th most tragic death. She was wearing a blue dress.
Thats why the water spirits stay pissed off. I don't blame them it pisses me off too. Respect the water ways regardless the size water spirits are real and so was the people buried down there.
My mom actually went there a lot when she was younger and one time when she went, she went with her siblings and my aunt was fishing but something grabbed onto the rod and it was so strong that she couldn't reel it in so she got my grandpa to come help her and he couldn't even reel it in and all the sudden the things pulled the fishing rod into the water and everything disappeared, no fish, no bubbles, no splashes, nothing.
They say the cat fish are huge out there..esp near a dam that’s not far from there. They say some are as big as a bus. Divers went down to fix the dam and came back up and were soo shook and said you couldn’t pay them enough to go back down.
The same thing has happened almost everywhere that large dams have been built, such as the Tennessee valley authority. a lot of homes and cemeteries went under that water. I saw a movie about it once and it was heartbreaking. Progress, true, but at a price.
@edemontfort9482 They slaughtered our Ancestors here at Oscarville. It was common for white men to kill innocent brown people back then and would fabricate a story that brown people hurt or harmed a European woman. This is exactly what happened at Oscarville, Ga. European people tortured them and tried to cover up their crimes. Oscarville was thriving because of my ancestors and the European's hated them and hated that. It's not progress it was racist, hateful, murders that took lives and still today cost people their lives by trying to cover up their wrong doings.
@@Click9953 lmao right, people literally live on that lake. Saw a bunch of high schoolers rope swinging into it last summer catching beers midair having the time of their lives.
Doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time. It’s a spiritual thing. Believe there is some truth to the stories. And the way that like came to be. Very sketchy.
@@ThePoolej32 thank you for your concern and for bringing this to my attention. There are several great RU-vid channels that discuss the in depth history of the places I cover, however, I’m just here to tell ghost stories.
@@GodGunsGills oh you know that to be true bc I have family from that very town that drowned and die so I take it personally to basically say that I’m lying 🤥
Well that could be because that lake is highly polluted, they didn’t remove any of the structures in the towns before they flooded it and there was high amounts off lead
@@helix9268FACCCCCCTSSSSS BUT ITS HOW YOU DIE AND THE DISRESPECT FROM IT....DONT MAKE SOMETHING INSANE YOU DO EXCEPTIBLE FOR MOST THAT CLEARY RESPECT AND UNDERSTAND... YOU ARE CARELESS IN LIFE AND SPIRIT OF COURSE YOU DON'T CARE!!!
They're not explaining to you that this was a town of black people that owned their property, that they made leave and they murdered a lot. They didn't had to make a lake of the town there..they took it "EMINENT DOMAIN,"
@@darrinfry2251 they moved the all the bodies. Don’t go around saying we need to do stuff that wouldn’t work just because you’re too ignorant to research a single thing about Atlanta and Georgia as a wholes reliance on lake Lanier for many things
I visited the lake a few years ago. I had no idea about the town. I found out about it by doing some searches on Lake Lanier. The town and the hauntings are probably why I got an eerie feeling from the lake.
I REMEMBER years ago SEEING a VERY old CEMETERY that was in this ACREAGE being CUT for its TIMBER. I was driving that day and my daughter was with me. We SEEN it from the road! We investigated to SEE what was going on. We FOUND very OLD GRAVES where the HEADSTONES were KNOCKED down and MANY broken. We PICKED the HEAVY broken HEADSTONES up and MANY smaller ones. Me and my daughter were FILLED with great GRIEF and SADNESS at the time for the PRECIOUS SOULS buried there! I SPOKE WORDS of COMFORT and PEACE over them. SUPERNATURAL things HAPPENED that I'm NOT at LIBERTY to SPEAK of! Nothing HURTFUL or SCARY ever! Those PRECIOUS spirit's KNEW we were in GRIEF and SADDENED by the disrespect of people CLEARING timber.
OK IM IN ALL CAPS SO PEOPLE SEE BUT THIS ISNT TRUE MY OLDER BROTHER HAD SOMEONE VISIT HIS CLASS AND TALKED ABOUT HOW THERE IS TWO LAYERS OF WATER IN LAKE LAINER AND THE REST IS SLUDGE AND IT YOU GET IN THE SLUDGE YOU WILL DROWN ALSO JUST SO YOU KNOW TAKE IT FROM ME I LIVE FIVE MINUTES FROM LAKE LAINER AND USED TO SWIM THERE ALOT AND I STOPPED BECAUSE I WAS SWIMMING DOWN DEEP AND MY FOOT TOUCHED THE GOD DAMN FUCKING SLUDGE WHICH IS PROBLEY WHERE ALL THE DEAD BODIES ARE
You know, folks would rather blame ghosts, then take responsibility for their own screw ups. But thank you for trying to enlighten people. Be safe out there.
I can only imagine this being true. Getting stuck in sludge yeah. I believe it. But for it to be a man made lake over a city and uts history the sludge is definitely part of the curse for burying that city. That amount of deaths…. Yeah it’s very much Haunted. Or Cursed. Or both. But not neither. 😢
Those dead bodies were people that the dam was meant to murder so they can cover up crimes. I dont think they even care about dissing the dead at this point.
Did you know if you die and get sent to hell there is a lay over in Atlanta. Now we know why. Repent of,your sin while you can and forgive your tormentors and abusers, you will have an incredibly great future if you do.
A lot of people have said the same thing. Depends on where you go there. An old friend of mine married into the Lanier family. His wife had a few stories.
