Yeah, its really a special place to visit. Regarding ghosts, the rumors are world wide spread but we also haven't had any such experience while there. Just swarms of mosquitoes :)
I beg to differ, You need to visit Poveglia island at night and by yourself if you dare. The thousands of souls there, many will make themselves known. If you search you will find them or I should say, they will find you.
A group of people is trying to make Poveglia useable again by venetians. Last year during the nice season they went there few times and cleaned up as much as they could.
Really good video! I’ve been planning a piece on the islands history for about 9 years now and hoping to get there at some point in 2021. I’ve done a lot of research and found a few interesting leads in fact checking things. I can confirm that a doctor did die by jumping from the top of the tower - I had been skeptical that it was just “internet talk”, but I have gone as far as finding out his name and where he lived. Many of the workers in the hospital lived in houses on Lido, and worked shifts that allowed them to live on Poveglia for a few days while they worked, and then return back to Lido. Certainly the house in Lido that the doctor lived in belonged to the asylum, which was funded by the government. However, his death came 3 days after it was announced that they were going to close this asylum and he would certainly have had to also move out of the house. I don’t know for certain, but one possible explanation is that he took his life because of the unemployment and hardship he faced. But I can 100% confirm that his death is real. Also, 160,000 did die of the plague, but not all of them on Poveglia. Some never made it here, and died in their homes. There was a few plague pits in Venice - one close to the Rialto bridge for example...but of the 160,000 quite a high percentage would have been on Poveglia...the exact number was probably never recorded. I love this video, it makes me want to visit even more!

It wasn't that hard tbh. The price was a bit steep but there were 4 of us so it wasn't much per person. It would be for only one person. I can give you more details if you contact us via email, or any of the listed social media accounts privately.
Yes. All the video footage was filmed by us, only stock photos and the google maos 3d was done in post. We shot it with 2 Canon 6D cameras and Mavic 2 Pro drone
I've explored all the island because everyone believe that this place is haunted, but obviously it's not, it's an interesting place , you can find a lot of ancient documents and machines but 0 ghosts...
I'd love to hear a bit more intonation in the narrators voice as it gets dull over time. But all in all great video, nicely done! The quote at the end is very thought provoking. Looking forward to more vids!

Hi how did you manage to take yourself to the poveglia island ? And do you still have any contact with the person that took you there cause we're goong to Venice tomorrow and try to find someone that can take us there
Well, It was a problem finding someone local to take us to the island and pick us up. Once we found the guy it was a financial matter. All turned out okay in the end :)
nahh i dont need to go there ive seen plenty of them in the various shots how ever these are just the memories of the past showing up strongly. they are not real ghosts.
