Just Drinking Rum reviews are for the every day backyard rum drinker. We are just two guys who love trying new rums and want to share our tastes with the world. As we take a look at the looks smells and tastes of each rum, we do so as if we are drinking it in our own backyard. The mixed drink portion of the review is for the backyard rum drinker and done with only a single soda mixer (Pepsi- by Robert & Coke- by Roger) to ensure the value of our review is equal for all reviews. (Some exceptions will apply for certain rums)

You can buy Havana Club in Mexico and in most of the Caribbean Islands. Matusalem Cuban Rum is right up there with Havana Club. Most cruise ships also serve Cuban Rum. Enjoy……

In Canada it's a $35 bottle. The intriguing Smoky black version of the Havana club 7 is $41.

Ouch, i paid 107 here in the states for one for my dad for christmas. I love cuban cigars so i had to get it.

In Chile you can buy it for $18, a really delicious and affordable rum.

I had a reason to cross the boarder recently so I had to pick a bottle up. I found it to be one of the perfect rums for a rum old fashioned. I would say it's less optimum for traditional tropical rum drinks.

Havana club has a few really nice ones we can get up here. Special selection is amazing and the white is beautiful in mojitos. They make a smoky flavored one that isn’t as impressive unfortunately. Do you guys have a P.O. Box to send thins to?

I DO get this one in my neck of the woods… been holding out buying a bottle till you fine gentlemen reviewed it (cause its like $15 bucks over here)… now that I know its worth it, I’ll make a sound investment and buy a bottle

How does it compare with the Bacardi version? Did they get it in Florida, or did they have to get it in Mexico? It looks a little different than the Bacardi version, but it would be hard to tell the difference if you didn't know what to look for. Online it does say it is available worldwide, except in the US.

at 8:17 minutes, I feel for you. I don't want to bring politics into this cool video but as cuban I just can't help my self lol. Thanks to former president Trump now we can't bring rum or cigars from cuba, even I a cuban citizen can't bring anything with me. Thanks to him also Americans are not allowed to travel to Cuba anymore. Those years were awesome for cuban people and americans that like you always wanted to go there on vacation, walking down the street in Havana and just seen so many americans hanging out, going in and out of restaurants, going places, it was weird at first but the more I saw thaat the more i thought that really , that was the time when finally things would change forever, for the best. But I was wrong I guess, it is really sad. Anyways back to the rum lol, truth be told you should not really mix the 7 years rum, but even in cuba people do it, usually women, no offence lol. But seriously, at any party any cuban rum thats dark you don't mix it, but if that;s all there is then if any women wants to drink it they'll mix it with coke. Because of the cost, about $12 now it is true must cuban never drink this, usually is the 3 year that you can find at must cuban parties, and because is not as good everyone mixes it or make mojitos, other drinks, etc...Now a big NO-NO is ice, that I really have to say you will not find anyone in Cuba adding ice to rum, at first is not bad, but unless you drink it very quick and then get drunk, even if a bit of ice melts it really messes up with the flavor. Adding a bit of cold coke is probably better than adding ice. Wish you guys could get your hands onto some Rum Santiago, is my favourite out of Cuba

Wait, we could fly to cuban before trump? I always thought we had to go to canada or somewhere like that because the embargo has been in play since the 60s.
