WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use RU-vids lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and RU-vid deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Just received my red/brown explorer and am impressed so far. I had the Cronos L6016 and flipped it pretty quick as it felt cheap and rattly. This one feels much better and am happy to report that my dial is perfect. The polishing on my bracelet is much better too. For those interested, some advertise as red and some brown but they are the same colour, reddy brown! I paid £160 for mine.

Thanks for that. I was confused as website said 'wine red' but I could only find reviews for 'brown' dials, so good to know they are the same.

I've recently got received my first Baltany (quartz 1926 Oyster homage, which is amazing) and I'm definitely getting the Explorer homage with the brown dial although I'm going for the Sellita SW200 model. I actually like the polished centre links; makes a change from all the other Explorer homages and you can always brush it if you don't like it.

There is even a second dial imperfection betwee 8 and 9 o'clock, visible at 4:31. I'm not a fan of PCLs anyway and in the case of this Explorer watch since they're even not well executed like on this on I guess I have to thank Baltany for not making another watch I'm tempted by! 😁

I don't get the hate for faux patina. It looks a damn sight better than white on many peices. And why are so many obsessed with lume? Seriously, how often does it come in useful? I'd much rather the costs be spread over important details of a peices rather than be wasted on useless lume.

I agree. The best lume doesn't last more than half an hour, so if you fall asleep at 11PM then wake up at 2AM because somebody's dog is barking, the lume is dead, and that's when it might have been useful. Probably works for dive watches, I guess, where you're only down for half an hour. But as a non-diver, I just don't care at all about lume.

Am I the only one who is keeping their fingers crossed that they produce a quartz version of this ??? I agree with you about the polished centre section of the bracelet. I would be very unhappy if I had spent this much for a watch and it had that faulty dial.

Hey Gary! If at all possible, can you try to have Octopus Kraken send you their titanium Pelagos 39 homage? I know a ton of people are waiting for a review! As far as the Baltany goes, I think that is the first one I've seen from them with any imperfections. I swore I saw a dent between the 8 an 9 o'clock as well! Beautiful watches overall though.

I like the explorer homage but make mine with the NH35, an everyday watch needs a date complication (at 6 o'clock please) IMHO.

Two nice watches, prefer the brown one,, shame about the dimple on the dial, hopefully it's not a repeating flaw from the stamping equipment. Excellent review Gary. Baltany are certainly a company to watch.

The dial imperfection appears between the 8 and 9 positions too (180 degrees from the other)?… Likely they are caused by the dial feet position for placement on the movement? Pity they allowed that pass QC 😒

On the all stainless version I noted another dent / in ding near the 9 O'clock. If this is a prototype then that can be explained. If this is a production model maybe not.

Nice explorer homage,does not have the black dial so not exactly a copy but a bit pricy, the sw200 would make a much better watch but taking you to a price where you can have originality as well. Alpha have a sale on with their 36mm version with an 8215 inside and sapphire for €108 offering a nice blue version, bought the case and bracelet from them a few years ago to put a 2824 inside with completely different dial and hands but it wears well

I don't mind too late but 280 USD for a small and simple watch with standard NH? For me 150 would be max. And Rolex caseback again? That is why I stay with Steeldives and Paganis, they don't reuse parts from fakes.

The reviewer picks fault with the clasp being stiff to close I never force it shut like he was doing , I push the little tabs in first then let them go when it is shut. and my clasps never wear out.

Spending decent money only to get a QC issue on the dial. Sadly they just can't seem to match Japan and Swiss watches for quality control. It's really random. Sad.

These homage makers always go wrong with the fake patina color. This one isn't bad, but should be a little lighter. Definitely better than the almost orange I've seen on some San Martins, that just looks terrible. Just a very light tan would be perfect.

On the first one, $219 would be a good price for it with the sw200. However, $219 is too much for it with the NH movement. When I buy from Aliexpress, I like to spend under $200. It's like gambling when buying from China, and I'm not a big gambler. I guess that's why I like Pagani Design. I only spend $100 Max for the P.D.'s.

Can we please have some minimum standards please? Stop buying cheap garbage, and have some pride. Sapphire crystal, AR coating, bracelet with micro adjustments and/or optional rubber/leather strap with deployment clasp, and a movement with less than or equal to a total deviation +/- of 30 seconds/Day. And if there’s a rotational bezel, the insert must not be an aluminum foil sticker. It’s time to demand better, rather than cheaper.

And you want to know what’s worse? Timex did better in the same price point. Watches like this, and all of their ilk are the equivalent of buying jewelry at Party City instead of Spirit Halloween.
