Yes, toe steps are perfect for this sort of routine. In my first year at the European and world championships, I performed an Irish dance routine that was choreographed by myself and my partner at the time. Toe steps were an integral part of the routine.

Thanks for watching the full video ❤️ Start slow and don't rush. You would be surprised how quickly you can pick up these toe steps. When working with students in person or online on zoom, every has the same horrified expression when I say we will work on toe stops. But they quickly realise its an achievable goal 👍

I don't think I have ever had Japanese shortcake. I'll have to keep my eye open for some. A bruised tailbone is never fun, I have had it a few times in my career. You can buy special padded shorts that a lot of skaters wear on ice to help avoid such injuries in the future. The best off ice exercises to do to help your toe pick skills on the ice are ankle strengthening exercises. I regularly make my in person and online zoom students practice ankle strengthening exercises with bands to help avoid injuries like rolling your ankles when going up on your toes. If your ankles are weak, you can easily injure them when going up on the toes. My ankles are quite strong, but as you see in the video, I came very close to rolling my ankle when I wasn't too focus on hopping on my left toe while I was trying to explain. I drew attention to it when I edited the video as it was a good word of warning 🙂 I'm happy to hear you enjoy watching my videos too ❤️

I actually teach jumps quite regularly in person and over zoom, I just don't have a lot of content on my social media teaching them. There are many things that could be happening with the jump based on what you describe. Have you watched our video covering the salchow both on the ice and off the ice? There is even a two foot salchow video on the website that isn't available on youtube. My guess without seeing it is that your positioning is off on the entrance and then you potentially tense up during the take off. Improving your stability and positions on your three turns (both forward outside and backward inside) and your landing position stability will make things easier too. Getting used to the mechanics of the jump off the ice will also help your confidence with the jump on the ice. Additional fun fact: I had a piece of cake before making it. That's why I went on a cake rant at the end 😂. Pointing your toes is recommended, but when it comes to bending your knees, it depends on what you're trying to do on your toes. Different toe moves will require different amounts of knee bend. But point your toes 👍 As you mention the risk of rolling the ankle (as I almost did in the video too), it's recommended to do ankle strengthening exercises off the ice to help avoid such injuries (as well as making sure your are tieing your laces correctly before skating).
