One of my favorites episodes ever of the show (which, I realise, is a very odd thing to say considering the news...). Richard and Steph? Yes, please! I had not heard of Jamie McDonald but I'm glad I know of him now. Thanks Viva for the upload and thanks HIGNFY for helping me patch my fraying sanity.
Jamie McDonald is often on the bbc radio 4 (original) show The News Quiz. Or was it on the radio scotland version Breaking the News which is very irreverent. 😅
Jamie McDonald has been on many episodes - good value. A lot of great presenters this season - Richard always good for the dry wit. Loved the episode with Bill Bailey…I’m waiting for Victoria Coren -Mitchell to pop up
@@michaelmcginley4887 - for anyone who did not get that, see this: "On March 24, 1975, Alex Mitchell, from King's Lynn, England, died laughing while watching the "Kung Fu Kapers" episode of The Goodies, featuring a kilt-clad Scotsman with his bagpipes battling a master of the Lancastrian martial art "Eckythump", who was armed with a black pudding."
A good host and a couple of good guests and the show demonstrates why it's been going 33 years. Wish they could get guests like this every week. Note: There won't be a HIGNFY next week because of Children in Need (it's a lifestyle choice). It will be back the week after.
I find it bizarre that people are saying Biden is too old for office when Trump is only two years younger than him... If he gets reelected, Trump will be older than Biden was when he was elected.
I don't know if that's a joke that's gone straight over my head, but there are bits from the standard show that don't make the cut in the longer version?
They should have made some of the questions a bit more accessible, relying on the screen meant Jamie MacDonald couldn't participate. Why get a disabled person and then not accomodate them?
With all of the tedious and unintelligent tripe available on the multiple tv services, this one is a constant. Such credible, intelligent people doing great Friday nights. If only half the world were this intelligent!! Love it. 33 years means something!
Suella and Rishi slouching next to each other like that look like a brother and sister who are in trouble and know what they’ve done wrong but don’t want to admit it.
I'm just catching this now after the "Monday Massacre". Why are all the news outlets all Pikachu-faced at Braverman getting sacked? But oh man, the return of Cameron has me DROOLING for next week's episode.
Winston Churchill popularized the bo-de-SEE-ya pronunciation. In the days when her name was spelled with two C's, he mistook one of them for an e and kept saying it that way because he could
A lifestyle choice.... She makes Amber Rudd Green look like a saint... I have never hated a politician as much as her... Maybe Ron De santis but it's close.... Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Liz Truss, MTG, Boebert, John Kennedy and Boris... You know what...? I think I just need to list 98% of conservatives.... I think she tops the list though.... Ron de Santis isn't sending undocumented immigrants to Rwanda... That's how low we are...
For such a visual show, this isn't the first time they've had a partially sighted guest on - why don't they have some sort of audio description for them? A small earpiece would be easy enough surely?
My guess is that the producers want the confusion. The people with sight challenges get to tell jokes about not seeing the video, the other panelists play catch up and are embarrassed for not being better eyes for their team, and the audience feels bad for all and laughs. Easy!
Homelessness always goes up during a Tory government so I think it's really weird that it went down during Theresa May, and yet her team never really mentioned it
Feel a bit sorry for that Scottish comedian, since you realise that a lot more of the comedy than you thought comes out of visual clues 😢 I'm sure Ian Hislop is doing his best to explain, when he can, but it's maybe a good idea to try and make more of the show less 'visual' when a visually impaired person is on 🤔 Always an excellent show, though 😀❤️
I wasn’t aware that cruella would need to be sacked by the prime minister to make a run at the top job, seems like an odd rule to have, but I live in Australia so it’s not that strange or unfamiliar
Belated thanks for this epidode! I watch each episode several times, unless there is a good reason not to (e.g. Nigel Farage, Christine Hamilton, Judy Murray)
