No matter what we think about the "just stop oil" group, I find it nice to see two elderly people who actually care about the future that they won't be around to see. Here in the U.S., the government predominantly seems to have a kick the can down the road approach to the climate. It's usually elderly white men in our Congress, who are more concerned about increasing their bank accounts than saving the planet.
I love how angry they make the virtue signalling hypocrites who pretend they're deeply concerned about climate change while refusing to lift a single finger to address their personal complicity in it. Humanity deserves climate change, we did it to ourselves and we're too selfish and stupid to stop it.
And, in a decade or so it will be formerly young men and Butch Bodies, Turned OLD, who are then kicking it down the road, is my wager! Just like there is always 30 years of oil left, and just as sure China and India aren't changing anything in their economy except as they can export it for money.

Yeah right. These old ladies enjoyed the benefits of oil their whole life, and now all of a sudden they want to forbid it for the rest of us. If they wanted to do something for the world they should have never had kids. Cause having kids is the worst possible thing for the planet.

She's a mining magnate who inherited a lot of money and mineral rights from her father, but unlike Trump (whose net worth would be higher than it is today if he'd just put his inheritance in an index fund instead of bankrupting a series of businesses including casinos) she managed to turn it into substantially more money and power. She's a very private person, she rarely makes any public statements of any kind, even now with this situation she hasn't said anything publicly at all. Like all billionaires she's a callous, self-interested, hateful manipulator, but she couldn't be more different than Trump.

Yes, it's a different kind of cheese compared to ordinary cheese. After being immersed in the coffee it is "squeaky" when you chew it. Not uncommon in the most Northern parts of Sweden too.
For the first official portrait I think it should have been more traditional. It looks like the artist sees him burning in hell. That might be a common sentiment, but I think the official portrait should project something traditional, not something bloody and fiery, like the empire.

Honestly, the farmer should have answered „oh please, do so“ and then come back to central London with 1000 friends with tractors. These people have totally forgotten who is paying their salaries.
That's Kaleb Cooper, off Clarkson's Farm, and "Cheerful Charlie". Given what Kaleb mentions on that show, he probably had to be forced to leave his fields and go to London at all, as he isn't exactly keen on going farther than 10 miles from where he grew up. And then he's greeted by that. I don't imagine that made him more inclined to travel to London and meet its people

I'm a catering chef of decades, the real reason for the M&M's is that if the caterer misses something on the rider they can claim you in violation of the contract and then don't have to pay. A lot of bands or their managers do stuff like that to try and get out of paying. Aerosmith did M&M's as well, but blue.
No court on the planet would let you void an entire contract on that basis, much less allow you to not pay what you owe, and every contract on the planet includes a clause that says if one part of the contract is found to be in breach, the rest of the contract remains in force. The actual reason for the M&Ms is that the band had complex staging requirements, and there were serious safety concerns if any of their instructions weren't followed to the letter. If they arrived backstage to find brown M&Ms in their bowl then they knew the contract either hadn't been read properly or hadn't been followed correctly, and therefore they needed to do a thorough inspection of absolutely everything else.
As far south as the Isle of Wight? The auroras were seen as far south as the Canaries, the Yucatan, Hawaii, and India. The ring of aurora passed right over Northern England, and it was over 100 miles high, likely a lot more. The Isle of Wight surely had a great show! The light pollution in the UK is terrible though, and it would have been difficult to see with your eyes, even in the countryside, though a lot of Brits have posted a lot of amazing photos! (A good camera can cut through a lot of light pollution.) It passed right over my home here in Minnesota too, and I've never seen anything like it, though I had to drive 40 miles away from the Cities to watch the display. It was so worth it!
@@AndrewTBP Maybe. But it seems along the lines of saying the aurora was visible as far south as Albert Lea in Minnesota. That's not a very meaningful statement. Both Minnesota and the UK were directly under the auroral ring. Of course it was visible in all parts of the UK, except in areas of the most severe light pollution. What's more meaningful and quite surprising (IMO the real story) is how far south they were visible, not just how far south in the country that was directly below their origin. Gran Canaria is at a latitude of 28 degrees north. The Isle of Wight is over 50 degrees north. Where's the real story?
Have I got a bit more news for you is a longer cut of the show, it airs the next day: some people prefer to wait for the longer version and just watch that, others watch both the short version and the long version (even though most of it is being seen twice). Basically, an extra 15 minutes of things they cut for time.

I think it's also more off-topic banter (still funny). Sometimes it's funny mistakes that everyone riffs on. Occasionally it's jokes or bits that didn't really work, and we all have a laugh at it.
