Thank you so much Christine. After watching you color with eye shadow, I have kept my eye out for good deals. The clearance racks always have bright colors and good variety. The shimmery ones are my favorite. They are even more beautiful in person. I adore how your approach to card making. You keep it real and fun!
The more I watch and listen to you the more I like you! I have quickly become addicted to your videos and feel I have a friend “across the pond” as you say. I know these RU-vid relationships are quite one sided since you never see or hear us, but I really feel as if we would be friends if we were in the same place. I too am quite a squirrel…if I ever had something it’s very possible that I still have it! I hope you always keep your personality in your videos, it’s one of the things that makes them especially enjoyable 💕
Well maybe not so one sided, as I feel that I get to know people by the comments and information they share with me. I'm delighted that you feel the way you do! Thank you❤️
Yippee! I am over the moon HAPPY that you made such a gorgeous card & more embellishments to make at least another one, using my suggestion! Fabulous fun & now you can make some flowers with the eyeshadows & some 3D folder images etc etc! Thank you so much! 🙏💐☕🥰
@@Chrissieannie Yes, because your way of teaching people how to create your style of cards gives me & many others, a LOT of pleasure dear lady.🥰🙏🦘🦘🦘Thank you once again.🌹🌹🌹
I frequently see eye shadows at the end of the aisle marked down. I usually think, who would use such colors. I will look at them differently from now on! Lol
Christine, order some FlitterGlu from Indigo Blue the next time you order Luscious Powders. It is made for using with gilding flakes and powders. It ‘dries’ sticky. Keep your hands wiped off or you’ll end up with more on your fingers than the paper, but it is perfect for the purpose. I dab it on lightly with a makeup sponge.
These are very pretty. I think you and I are "drawn" to the same Color palettes😊 also thanks for my whole other vocabulary. I'm beginning to gain a whole other linguistic style. "Cheaper than chips" ahaha!😂
Hi. Thank you for sharing this, it's amazing what can be used in card crafting that can be found around the house. Ive used packaging in various ways, odd, unpaired earrings, kitchen foil and paper towel, string, buttons, bits of ribbon and magazines, well all sorts really and I love card crafting for that kind of experimenting. Thanks again and have a lovely relaxing evening.😊
What a fun and fabulous video. I admire the way you graciously take up the challenge to use products suggested by other creatives and also the way you toss aside a not so successful attempt with great aplomb! Thanks for the warning about PVC glue for this technique. Your delight in discovery is the mark of a splendid teacher and your card is superb. Thank you. 🍃
Whoa! Eye shadow and hairspray! Now you're digging into the 70's and 80's, kiddo. Woohoo! This is marvelous, Chris! I'm going to have a play right away! Thanks for doing the experimentation for us! From Cheryl in AZ
Lovely effect. I’ve tried eyeshadow for this technique in the past but it wasn’t very successful. I didn’t think to try with a different adhesive so maybe that’s why it was a bit dull. Also, your eyeshadows seem very shimmery so that must help, along with the gilding flakes. I suspect we will all be rummaging through our drawers to find old eyeshadows this afternoon, haha😂❤❤
Great idea especially if your on a tight budget and can’t afford the luscious powders , as we’ve all probably got old eyeshadows. Lovely finished card .
Well I did the gilding flakes but couldn’t get my hands on my eyeshadows….so I had my microfine glitter in front of me and gave that a go😉 worked great with some sparkle to boot😂😂😂 decided I would do a half sheet at a time since it was a bit trying to get it on my previous small die cut…quite pretty…thanks for the great ideas❤️
Hello christine . Effectivement c est une excellente alternative et aussi une maniere d utiliser ce que des fois on veut jeter. Thanks et very good afternoon . 👋👋👋👋
You are so so creative, it just never ends. That is good news for the rest of us on your channel. I love your ideas. This is another one I can do without specific dies. I think I need a trip to Europe to buy some clever dies LOL
Wow, now I have to drag out my old tub of Bare Escentuals ! As always, beautiful technique ! ! You are so inspirational and the best thing on RU-vid. Peggy in Maryland
Isn’t it funny what we surmise.I would have thought you would be ‘a couple of old faithful yardley colours ‘ instead of an adventurous eye shadow girly. 😊 I was just thinking that the eyeshadow would come off on the recipients fingers when you brought the hairspray out. It all worked a treat. The card’s lovely.
Great technique and a lady after my own heart. I too use eyeshadow to add colour to die cuts and love the results. I sometimes use a brush and use the eyeshadows as a watercolour to paint a smooth background. I love your card. It’s so pretty. - Dawn 🌅
Brilliant! I never was a big make-up wearer but every year I'd throw out whatever i had (and never used) and guy more saying, "Im gonna try it again!" Now i wint throw out the last bit ive never used and use it on my details!!😊😉
Brilliant result, yes we’ve all got these eye shadows in the cupboard. Had heard of technique but had totally forgotten. Defiantly have to have a play. Thank you for sharing.
I used to be a hoarder and I decluttered all my stuff 5yrs ago but for the first time I wish I hadn’t decluttered something. I had this neon palette that would have been awesome to use a pigment powders 😭
Have been meaning to try this as I have many old eye shadows and face powders. Also would like to try nail polishes and possibly lipsticks or lip pencils.
I was just thinking about this yesterday so this video gave me a big Cheshire Cat grin. Since Brexit I have a hard time ordering from some English sites so this is an alternative at least and a very pretty one too. Now I just have to get some glue pens! 😁💖🙏🙌
Christine, This was so helpful!! I like that you show us so many different ways to use different products to get the same results!! Your channel is the best!!
Great idea! I have so many eyeshadows and I was just thinking today that I should toss them out. Now I have a better use for them . Thank you for this cool tip! Cheers from 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦
Oh, my, I had totally forgotten about the eye shadow trick (but I haven’t thrown any away!) Now I have to go play. (Or should I finish the making cards from the new thing I just had to try!) I never know when something will inspire me, but a lot of times, it’s a technique that propels me into the craft room to play. Thanks for this one, I hadn’t considered adding a pinch of gilding flakes. It’s hard to tell on the video, but I am pretty sure that it makes a big difference. Ok. Phone down. I’m going!!!
That is absolutely incredible Chrissie, I had wondered about Perfect Pearls but was not sure if it would work and how to set it. But this is beautiful and I have been through my eye shadow box already to give it a go. Thank you very much. Mary.
Do you think our large Nuvo glue pens are out at a party together? Mine's been MIA for ages and I cannot for the life of me figure out where I put it. It's hardly been used. What a great idea to use your eyeshadows as a substitute and they work out so fantastically. Any I had are long gone as I've really never worn makeup on the regular. For special occasions at one time but now not at all. I'm afraid once I start this technique, I'll never stop. The results are so fabulous.
Oh that is amazing using eyeshadows. Can’t believe it. When you sprayed it with hair spray Christine is it left sticky and how long does it take to dry. Thanks as always for sharing
I've been using eye shadow for a while yet love how you pull together the dies, gilding flakes and eye shadow. I need to buy some blue; it's not been easy to find here. lol. Yes, Nuvo glue sticks are awesome!
Very fun idea. As it happens, I purged virtually my eyeshadows some years ago in connection with various movings of house. Fortunately, I do have a variety of pigment and mica powders. Definitely need to try them with gilding flakes.
Beautiful card, Christine 😊. I only use grey eyeshadows on my eyelids now, but I've got lots of colors that I no longer use and never threw away. Another crafter I follow has suggested powdered eye shadow for mixed media pieces, journal pages, etc. so I was familiar with the idea. As to the light - I found it much better. There were a couple of flickers, but no where near as many as the former light produced. Thanks for another great tutorial!
This time, at least, I didn’t notice any flickering, but, to my eye it did seem to be a truer white light - but not that hideous b l u e - w h i t e!! Don’t know about the UK, but L.E.D.s have a rating in the U.S. of … ? … color? … “temperature”? …. whatever … but I found, with my “old eyes”, the lighting rated as 3700 is MY optimal choice. 4000 starts to be TOO BLUE!! Anything less is too yellow; more closely akin to the yellow of incandescent. Just my take on the subject.
@@kkrolf2782 in the UK light bulbs are usually rated warm white or cool white, like you I prefer the warmer tones. My old craft light has a 'daylight' bulb which is neither yellow nor blue, but altogether more natural. The new one has choices of colour and the setting I had it on was the truest to daylight.

Your light look good on video to me! What a fabulous idea of using eye shadows!!! I have none anymore, threw them all away since I don't wear them anymore. But one could easily get some at our Dollar Tree for cheap. I do have mica powders, but I do love the idea of using eye shadows if you don't have mica powders. Gorgeous card, brilliant idea from Linda! Hugs, Brenda
Happy Sunday Morning!!!! LOVED this tutorial and your cute comments!!!! I laughed several times recalling my mom saying “go wash your face!” when I was a teenager with big blobs of gorgeous shimmery turquoise eye shadow with my red lipstick😂. Not sure if you have Dollar Tree stores in UK but ours here are full of eye shadow in “cake AND loose powder form!!!!!! Love it!
Hi Christine, Love your new lighting easy on the eyes. When I was into clay I bought a bunch of mica powders. Since eye shadow has mica powders will give that a go to see if it works. Will need to get gilding flakes as I really love the effects. Thanks for sharing new U.S. Subbie here! Carol-Lynn
Hi Chrissie. What a revelation!! Who would have thought that you could use shimmery eyeshadows to get this fabulous result. I have these dies too and the TH cut out dies and will definitely be giving this a try with some eyeshadows that don't suit the eyes any longer..lol. The wet glue that you used does seem to work well with the gilding flakes too. I recently bought a new tub of those so will be adding them into the mix. x
