So I saw an 8 year old girl jumping around Chinatown in London at the weekend, she had a tail and a mask and was pretending to be a fox. However she was being videoed by an adult hoping it was a family member, and she was being watched by grown up men who were taking photos. A little girl with her backside in the air and a tail being watched by adults, made me feel sick to my stomach.

I love how everyone is a wolf therian, or a cat, or a dog, or some other cool animal, but none of them are naked mole rats lmao. Edit: Yall I was overexaggerating. Obviously I didn't mean all of you flakes were dogs cats and wolves. Calm down.

As someone who has been a therian for much longer than tiktok and youtube and social media; I am a therian based on very vivid repeating dreams I've had since I was a kid. I am a Christian as well, and my connection with my animal and God are close in a way, same with how I express my art.

As a child, (mainly because of the The Kane Chronicles, Spirit Animals series, and the Warior cats books that I was using to learn English), I always liked cats and even tried to mimic some of the behaviors. However, that does not mean that I am a cat or wild feline. I just like the idea of hanging out with them to study their behaviors. Apparently this is how I managed to accidentally lead several stray cats into the house when I was twelve.

Also, i am biologically a boy and i also identify as one but a few months ago i had really long hair and everyone was calling me trans and it was so irritating. 1: therianthropy is a belief and a non-physical connection to an animal, it can be spiritual or mental/psychological. There are also some therians who belief that their connection come from past lives, you can either be born therian or develop a connection to animals via different ways! 2. The most common theriotype is wolf 3. A therian is someone who believes they are an animal while also being very well aware that their human. While furries do cosplay, it's a hobby and anyone can become a furry by buying or making a fursuit. Talking about fursuits, the price is insane and we should respect furries because they have talent to make those incredible fursuits. (Edit: this is from an old Google classroom assignment I did :3)

My daughters friend is 8 and says she is a carrot. She will draw pictures for my daughter and sign them with a little carrot symbol. She answers to Carrot. It’s so nice and normal to see these quirks expressed in childhood. Maybe the folks who are truly consumed by these identities didn’t get to.

I had a friend like this in elementary school. She would wear cat ears and hiss and scratch people. We all read the warrior cat books and each had our own “cat persona”. It was fun to me! I always had an active mind and childish role play seemed harmless. Once we got to middle school, her and my other friends joined the art classes and created their own fursonas. I chose band, and we grew apart. 8 years later, and I believe she is now transitioning to being a male, but still identifies with the furry community. I pray for her occasionally. Hope she’s ok, and I thank God that band saved me.

Honestly, I’m so glad I grew up before any of this really took off. I was a weird kid. I was into a bunch of different things, and I was just exploring what I liked. But at the end of the day I was still a girl, I just had weird funny things that I liked to do. What happened to kids having an imagination and they wanna play and pretend there are some thing and that’s OK it’s just pretend. It’s like you pretend to be something and now that’s your whole identity. This is why our art and our entertainment has gone to shit because we can’t tell the difference now between fantasy and reality. These people on TikTok they could be amazing, artists and they are Spending their time on TikTok thinking that what they’re saying in their head is reality when they could just create great art.

Its the fact that this video keeps popping up as a therian myself.

When I was 13 (now 21), I believed that I was a wolf therian and lived life based on that belief, and I ended up getting a therian symbol tattooed on my chest. Now I am planning on getting that tattoo covered up. My experience with it, and looking back on how I felt at the time, I can say it was more so of an escape from reality and that I was living in a fantasy world. You can believe what you want, but it doesn't make it real.

Man I love this timeline. These videos never cease to amaze me. The deeper you dive into it the better it gets. The concept of not having something to overcome possibly causing fracturing in the human psyche fascinates me.

To clear some stuff up, therians don't necessarily believe that they are only an animal, in can be believing you had a past life as an animal, sometimes "shift" to a non-human creature, there are other beliefs you may have as a therian or otherkin, but you do not need to have all or even more than one. As you see in many of the videos, they are doing an exercise known as quadrobics, this exercise is normally associated with therianthropy, but yet again is not required in order to be a therian, but most therians do do this in order to feel more connected to their animalistic side. Quadrobics is also a valid sport and not everyone that does quadrobics is necessarily a therian. being a therian/therianthropy is not a choice nor a mental illness, it is just a personal belief (yet again not a choice) that you are connected to a animal/have a more animalistic side. if I missed something (this is just the basics) or got something wrong please let me know

Not to hate on furrys, but I have a friend who is a furry, and he has a LOT of trauma. His dad is abusive and stuff, and I've been praying for him. But what im getting at is that I feel really bad for him and I feel really bad for anyone who has been hurt to the point where they dont feel they belong anywhere and have to resort to being a fury and changing their identity. As a therian i do not completly idetify as an animal in my own experience its more you feel connected to that animal and to feel closer to it you dress up in gear and do quads, you dont have to do quads and all that to be a therian

I may be a Nobody, but I've thought a lot about this. When you think about it, these Identity Complexes are just copes for preferring a fantasy world over reality. When I was a kid, I was obsessed with epic fantasy genre things. My Cope was to novelize my imagination and aspire to be an author. My teachers loved my work because it was detailed and got me engaged with English class for that easy A+ But no, I didn't "identify" as a wizard lol - that's just not healthy.

I love drawing animals and been called a furry many times, i did like furrys when i was in middle school but not anymore. Ive been in art since 5th grade and i feel even more distant with my fellow artists. Everyone is either gay or trans or saying they identify as something different than what they appear to be, i feel like i dont belong. I love what i do and what i create but i feel very different than my peers.

As a therian myself i would like to say A therian is not something u can choose to be its about past lves or a non-physical conection to an animal. Therian's know their human, we can't just stop being a therian and let us do what we love, many therian's do this sport called "quadrobics" where u run and jump around on all fours that does not mean all therians do it, therian are mostly known for this sport. I’m a furry and I really like your content. To be honest I’m glad you did this video and learned that furries DONT think we’re animals. We are just regular people that like to draw and dress up as anthropomorphic animals! It’s basically just cosplaying. Most of us are very normal and not crazy perverts or anything. It’s just a bad stereotype:( (there are some exceptions, but the furry community as a whole really is made up of normal, if not somewhat nerdy, people).

When I was Little, I wanted to run around with tails, but that was because I was just being a child, my parents never tried to make me anything I wasn't, I was just a little girl who liked animals just playing around like a kid does. And here I am, a perfectly normal teenage girl.

There are not enough videos on the internet about how messed up this is. I have a best friend who recently came out to me as therian and I didn't know what to do. She has struggled with gender identity, self harm, mental illness (she has been placed in a mental hospital twice). Being any kind of "therian" is not okay. It is a messed up idea on it's own that comes from a community supporting mental illness. All I could find on Google about what to do about my friend was to ask questions. This advice came from a pro-therian website however that was the only piece of advice I could find. Her idea of therianism or whatever is much different than anything in this video or on the internet that I could find with as little effort I put into this. She considers being therian as almost a religion. After asking several questions, some she couldn't even answer, and such an amount that she got annoyed, I discovered her idea of what this (mental illness) really is, is a person who receives visions of their past life. Some people remember multiple past lives so that's how some people identify with multiple animals. Throughout my questions she asked me not to try and make her human. She referred to it, without context as "the haunting." Theoretically, if she got visions of, "running through the hills with a small rodent in [her] mouth," I don't understand why she'd do this now, such as, putting on a tail as a human. run around on all fours, and even catch and kill "small animals" with her teeth. She believes god assigned her this body to help other people even though she doesn't like it and she acts like this because it was fun when she was a fox. I definitley backed her into a corner. Being therian is not okay. You're an effing human. But when I asked if she thought of being therian as a religion she said no, and that she was Catholic like her mom. However she has not the wildest clue of what being Catholic means. I know this because the moment a Catholic caught sight of her jumping off a ledge with a dead rat in her mouth and a fox mask with tail, she'd be burned at the stake no matter what century it is. I am not going to be friends with this person anymore because I have no idea what else to do. Please make more videos on this because there are so few. I love your videos and perspective on issues and appreciate you speaking out about this issue with our generation. Thanks
