We use it everytime the leaves are used for patrode..the dish is called kesa kalu huli..prepared differently..sasive (as you prepared) is a great idea too.

Does it cook well? Thought it was removed because of it being fibrous. And yes, the purple stemmed patrode leaves are preferred for cooking. They are less likely to cause itching or an allergic reaction
