Nestled away on the island of Borneo is a country known to a few and visited by even less: Brunei. But in a quest to visit as many countries as I can, I found myself well off the beaten path, deep in the throes of exploration, truly discovering the wonders of this country. Majestic Mosques, floating villages, and Smokey night markets were some of the treats that awaited me, and here’s how it went…

Don't be so quick to judge. The houses in Kg Ayer might not look much on the outside, but once you go inside them, they're mostly fully equipped with all the necessary modern appliances. And the residents also own cars and sometimes boats too. The ones that has gone down or abandoned has been around for decades, so the owners decided to built a new home land side. Yes, we're no Dubai, but we live modestly and enjoy what we earn more as there's no income tax, cheap petrol, free education and medicare. And lastly, it's pronounced as Jar-Me-Husk-Sar-Null. I hope you enjoyed your stay 😄

Hello Zach, another aesthetically amazing and informative vlog. Even I was in this impression that Brunai must be very expensive. Love those floating houses to all the yummy street food. Surely this country is going in my wish list to travel. Thank you so much. Looking forward to watch Malaysian vlog❤

Hi Zach, do you travel alone or with a partner? Do you get a permit for your drone or just fly it whenever/wherever?
@thetravelingzam
@thetravelingzam 6 месяцев назад
Hey! Mostly traveling alone these days. Allows me better storytelling. I am relying on DJIs geofencing for most of my flying. If I am working commercially I will get the necessary permits.

How many days you think is ideal to spend there?
@thetravelingzam
@thetravelingzam 6 месяцев назад
I did about 3. Saw most of what I wanted and it can be a bit slow besides that. So 2-3. I know some people squeeze it all in on one day

You can cover the capital city Bandar Seri Begawan in a day. I would recommend staying a night in Temburong and stay at places like Sumbiling Eco Resort or Freme Rainforest Lodge to experience our jungle with night trekking, river tubing and going up the Canopy Walk. This can only be arranged with the accommodation as you are not allowed to go on your own without licensed guides.
