Hej guys! Welcome in I struggled a bit with the controls in the beginning. The camera + movement feels a bit different in this one, and the button bindings are not like I set them in RE1 and my brain needed some adjustment time sorry for that! Hope you can enjoy my first playthrough of CODE VERONICA nonetheless!
@LIZZgame. Hello I am back checking out your playthrough of resident evil code Veronica I love this game and haven't been able to play it for years I am hoping Capcom brings out a resident evil code Veronica this is a good story and Claire love her 😊👍🏻p .s I am still a new subscriber and I watched all your playthrough s of the original resident evil I enjoyed your commentary
No worries! It's a learning process. I played RE2 and 3 in the late 90's before I played this one, so I had some experience, but I sucked bad at this the first time I played this, lol.
This game absolutely blew my mind when I played the original on Dreamcast. It was a Resident Evil revelation, no pun intended. Ok, pun kind of intended.
Of all the Resident Evil games, _this_ is the one that most deserves a good remake. As much as I adore RE4, it was already a masterpiece and, as much as I loved the remake, it wasn't necessary. I can't wait until this one is re-imagined.
The Resident 4 remake was necessary because it is cannon with the resident evil 2 remake and expands that story. Also resident evil 4 remake sold over 7 million so alot of people think it was necessary.
@@MrDaveJustice I see your point, but I disagree because RE4 is still a masterpiece, to this day. The remake is most certainly incredible, it's just that I would have preferred a Code Veronica remake, because that game is incredibly flawed. Don't forget, they rushed the RE3 remake, which wasn't necessarily bad, but really lackluster.
@@angraween which was one of the various issues with that game, but the original is how it was intended to be. The visuals by that point were good enough to get across what things were supposed to be like.
Two things i highly recommend as you progress through the game..save as many herbs as you can and ammo, and when gunning down a zombie switch quickly to the knife and finish them off when they fall, and lastly try to avoid killing them at all only if you need to, the reason i say this you'll soon encounter a very strong boss and strong enemies, if you use all your herbs early you'll never defeat the boss and will have to restart the whole game, i know this because ive made the same errors lol ive completed the game twice, loving the game play btw awesome...Ad believe me when i say you'll need as many herbs and aid sprays as you can get lol, one of the most formidable bosses in the resident evil franchise.
I always try to save resources as much as possible. Have you seen my RE1 playthrough? I only used my Bazooka for the end fight... shot everything with handgun and the Hunters with Shotgun.. kept the Magnum for T.. my inventory was SO full in the end lol. I could've had a way easier time lol
with as much ammo as she wasted in the first 40 mins of this video i'm actually amazed she somehow managed to make it through the game. ammo is generous early on but you quickly start eating through it and getting kinda low even when you're not wasting it.
Remember looking forward to this game coming out back in 2000 and actually having to call an Electronics Boutique to see if they had a confirmed release date and then go there and buy a physical copy. 24 years later and there’s no need to call anyone for a release date, no need to travel anywhere to buy and no physical version needed to even play
Great video as always, also this game originally was a Dreamcast exclusive didn't come out on other consoles till later on but Dreamcast had the best graphics during its time
I remember very little about RE: Code Veronica besides really liking it back in the day. As an aside, the PS2 didn't have internal memory storage and instead had a slot to plug in an external memory card (with a whole 8MB of data). They must have created a virtual one for the game to save to for this to run on the new consoles.
The stairs walking sequences you have seen in that port of the original game were skippable and sped up a lot (not like in the original game). That is why they seem slow to you now in CV. But they were originally slow. It's actually a hidden loading screen for the next room.
You got new sub from Estonia RE1 play through was great now enjoying this play through it’s great to see younger gen get to the series over all but seeing playing the og versions don’t think I have at all specially by a girl/women lol I grew up seeing my father playing the og ones and scared me shitless that I only found my balls at age 18 to finally play them original trilogy and code Veronica x
I’ve never played or seen this one. I hope the mysterious sister is a Norman Bates situation and she’s just Sir Alfred wearing her clothes. That would be fun.
@Lizzgame on the last video when you were making jokes about the dialogue it reminded me of an old mp3 I heard on a website in the 90s. Someone arranged the dialogue to make it sound like the characters were having sex. My teenage self thought it was hilarious. It really does sound like some bad 70s porno. It’s not surprisingly on RU-vid lol.
@@LIZZgame There has been rumours for a RE1 Remake again in the RE2 Remake style, RE Code Veronica Remake and RE5 Remake and I hope they do it in that order cus that would be a good Chris Redfield trilogy
@@LIZZgameYou’re not a noob - you make a good job. As i was played the games (RE 1-3 at PS1 and Veronica at Dreamcast) controls and aim system was tricky… but i loved the atmosphere and story. And of course I liked your humor… Die Die Die … Thank you 😂 I enjoyed a lot 😂 have a good time with the games and thanks for the nostalgic moments for me
The knife is very useful in Code Veronica. With enough practice and patience, a properly timed knife attack to a zombie's legs could result in it to collapsing to the ground, buying you time to either use a firearm, continue to stab or allow you to flee. A well placed swipe of the knife could result in multiple strikes on an enemy in a single attack, allowing for the possibility of a kill before they can get back to their feet. Best of luck! I absolutely love Code Veronica!
yeah, I gotta learn to master that thing. The perspectives sometimes mess with my depth perception and I think the enemies are further away or closer haha
You can almost always knock down a zombie on hit if you knife them right after baiting an attack. Ideally run a circle around the zombie so it misses its grab/lunge and attack it. It takes some practice but can save you a lot of ammo early game if you can figure out the timing.
yeah claire is so badass like lizz even with shneks! wait till you played RE revelations, omg im excited for you to stream all re games, shneks!!,, also you always say the word that sounds like "malaka", what does it mean? haha
Yes the knife is incredibly powerful in this game. I think the knife is doing damage every frame it is inside the enemy model like in REmake 2. You can hear it as you slash at the right angle.
The problem of C:VX is, it came out at a time where the market of survival horror was saturated. Critics and fans blamed VX that it did nothing new except graphics. Same Virus again, same gameplay again and many weren't happy with the story choices like returning of Wesker as a genetic enhanced super soldier. It did just so little to the franchise that it underperformed. In retrospective it was the last original resident evil though. The RE community is a bit divided if RE4 did resident evil better or not. Gameplay wise it abolutely did. The presentation was the best that could happen to RE. But the story progress didn't really weant anywhere. Sure RE was never a masterpiece of story building but RE5 and 6 did gradually worse than 4. It seems like what RE really does need isn't a new story. It's new gameplay and presentation every now and then. Because RE7 and 8 did great again! And RE 2 and 3 Remake where massive hits! Yeah I don't know where I'm going with this commentary, so that's my thoughts about RE C:VX
This was my first time playing a resident evil game back 2003 or 2004 when I was in high school someone borrow me his code Veronica for game cube. I had a crush on Steve 😂
Just so you know various people over the years, due to IGN constantly saying so, think that Code Veronica is what was originally going to be Resident Evil 3 before the game that got the name Resident Evil 3 got that name. That isn't the case though. Code Veronica is a game that was done by NexTech who did the Saturn port of the first game. Since Capcom and them figured they couldn't properly port 2 to the Saturn they ended up making a Sega-Exclusive game instead for the Sega fans which ended up being Code Veronica for the Dreamcast. Mikami has said though that he feels Code Veronica should have had a number in the title and feels it's the "real" 3 (or the real 2 if you're going by what he thinks of as a story sequel to the first game). The family forming the antagonist side of things in the game (The Ashfords) originally had connections to The Nazis in Satoshi Nakai's concepts, though that got somewhat phased out with the remnants of that connection in-game being the type of military stuff that Alfred has. Also Rodrigo is actually a native to Rockfort Island (the last one there is if I remember correctly), as Umbrella used his people decades before to construct their facilities on the island. Jill was also going to be the main female character of the game in the earliest concepts, but she got dropped for Claire and ended up being used in Resident Evil 1.9&2.1 instead (which ended up being relabeled as 3 in 1999 causing what was being worked on as 3 to be relabeled as 4 (Kamiya (the director of 2)'s version of 3/4 (which ended up becoming Devil May Cry)). And if you can, save either B.O.W. Gas Rounds or Flame-Arrows if you can. There's a fight that's not "impossible" later on if you don't have them, but most people aren't skilled enough to beat the fight without them.
Hi LIZZ 🎉. 🖖. Du spielst WUNDERBAR. EIN TIPP WICHTIG den FEUERLÖSCHER nachdem benutzen IN DIE SAFEBOX AUCH WENN ER LEER ist ablegen. 😎😁🧟♂️☀️💪. Es ist das längste schwerste RESIDENT EVIL 🧟♂️ mit SUPER GEILEN nicht 🔥 leichten RÄTSELN. 😎😁💪🍻🎉

Hejj Liz ! Just want to ask, are you playing using a console or emulator ? Cause I want to play this game again. So nostalgic *sob* used to play this with my late dad everyday till the end. I was once played the game on Dreamcast
That would be awesome! 🥰 Re1 Remake/Remaster is amazing. You've played so many of my faves recently: TR, Life is Strange, Heavy Rain, RE.. Just basically the Final Fantasy series missing 😂 Herzliche Grüße aus Finnland❤
Yeah the og sega dreamcast game. I buy this at Release ❤ Anyway auaaaaa auaaa Ich kann es nicht fassen.
Have viewers already told you that you can access in-game options where you can switch controls? In the PS4 version, it is the left side of the touchpad.
I tried the other controls, but they didn't change the setting I struggle with - triangle (in all other RE games I played the way to access inventory) is the map in this game, no matter what. Touchpad is the inventory. So you see me often access the map accidentally haha
@@LIZZgame For years now, I've been playing newer Resident Evil games and recently playing the first Resident Evil remake in a long time, it took me forever to relearn controls and not being able to walk and shoot at the same time:D
I already played RE2 and RE3 Remake, so I know the story (unless they changed stuff..). Sadly RE2 and 3 are not on PC ... YET. They are supposed to come to GOG this year, so I will play them later :)
When I played this I remapped the controls to the original format. What were they thinking changing them like that in the first place? This game had 4 flaws in my opinion: 1. the controls 2. the ridiculous intro which was cool but didnt fit the atmosphere of the game 3. the very late part where you play as Chris which was just boring backtracking and served no purpose. 4. it brought super wesker into the game which I never liked. (super hero & super villain- doesnt fit survival genre) - and maybe 5. the boy is a really annoying character but they didnt mean to make him that annoying.
Wait no pressure but didn't you know you have to play as Chris as well in RE1 to get his version of the story is different he meets a character called Rebecca Chambers You may already know this and I may have just made myself look silly but it's cus I haven't finished watching your RE1 play through I just came to this video to let you know there is still more to do with Chris in RE1 Just know that not all the game play is different some of it is the same with slight changes its the cut scenes that are different just like how they did Leon and Claire stories in RE2
@@LIZZgame It's like RE2 you go to the same locations but in different orders, you meet different characters like Rebecca and I think you see some different enemies but I'm not 100 percent on that it's been ages since I played this
hey lizz great playthrough on part one of re code veronica for time playing this i played this originally on the saga dream cast i still have the original disk and still have a saga dream small tip try conserve as much med kits and herbs as possible. anyways how are you finding the game ? I'm going to watch part 2 now as always thank you for you content
I'm not a fan of this one (and I'm very critical of their decision to stick with controls that were designed around the limitations of the original PS1 controller when the Dreamcast had a perfectly good analog stick from the start), but I will say that the cutscenes are the best (read: funniest) since RE1. Still, this game's difficulty is frustrating, and you can accidentally ruin a whole playthrough with a single mistake. Don't overwrite those old saves: you might need them.
In both the RE1 GOG version and this one I can move the characters with the analog stick, but the D-pad feels more precise. When a game lets me, I always keep 10 (in this case limited to 5, sadly) seperate saves and then rotate through and overwrite them. I played 8h so far and I have 11 saves now, I guess that should prevent any softlocks haha
@@LIZZgame Okay. I've just played through it myself, and I agree that it plays better with the D-Pad. My issue is that this shouldn't be the case with a 6th generation game. (Oh, and Pro Tip: Never underestimate the value of an empty extinguisher.)
as Chris, the knife is amazing! And I finished the game so now I know what the Extinguisher is used for, but please don't go around and spoil things for first time players..
