It looks like the Brilliant Life of Bruce Lee is playing at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. There was a showing on July 20 of this year. We should all email the museum and ask to have it made on Blu-ray.
Hi Stripey, congratulations on your new granddaughter 😊 Great video as always, I have not seen or heard of this documentary, though I know that there is a film shown at the Heritage Museum, no one is allowed to film inside the museum from what I've read/watched about it. Wouldn't it be great if this film could be released on Blu-ray for everyone to enjoy, the likelihood of me visiting Hong Kong, though I'd love to go, is very slim. Thanks again Stripey😊✌️

@@ta5777 info on the items at the museum. I haven't seen the book online for sale. Only available at the museum. Unfortunately no pics allowed inside. Took me 2 hours going through the exhibit. Doco has great interviews and rare pics.
@@ta5777 It's still on. When you catch the MTR trains there will be arrows pointing to the museum. By looking at the MTR train map beforehand will get you there easily. You'll see lobby cards on display and you'll see the screen times as well.
Let us try and get this released. We also need the HKFA to finally release ‘The Orphan’ on disc. Hopefully I’ll get back to Hong Kong some time soon to enjoy this exhibition. Heard Alex mention you a while ago. I wondered when your chat would be released. Looking forward to it Stripey

I saw the documentary at the museum in Hong Kong, I remember it accounting Bruce's life story with some new interviews with his friends. I liked the "Tale of the dragon" documentary more. The exhibition was called "Bruce Lee: Kung Fu. Art. Life" at the time. I've tried searching for the Chinese title of the documentary (李小龍風采一生) on Chinese search engines online but found nothing.

I was at the exhibition last year. Lots of goodies to look for. It's quite a few personal items including some training gear Bruce Lee used There were clips and interviews shown through out the show room but I don't recall a full documentary. Perhaps reach out to the Bruce Lee club in Hong Kong andd see if they have more info aboot the documentary?
I can only imagine a "copyrights" nightmare for any release in the US or UK. I would suspect in China they are completely unencumbered by any legal issues regarding Lee's name, likeness, film and TV appearances, et all. I would be interested in seeing it, but i honestly cannot imagine how it could be substantially different than the multitudes of existing documentaries. I mean, there is only so much footage, and after the Arrow boxset, I think its safe to say we have all seen 99.99% of any and all existing clips. Plus, we, DO kinda know the "plot" by now.
Congratulations on the new addition to the family mate! I've heard Alex discuss this a few times on the podcast, obviously I would love to own a copy as I'm all about physical media! I don't know what the issue is about it not being given a physical release, i'm not sure if it was created exclusively for thr HK Heritage musuem or if its a rights issue. I do know the HK Heritage Musuem are strict with the exhibition, If you check out the KFG's tour of HK videos on RU-vid the musuem has a strict policy of only permitting photography & recording videos isnt allowed. I went in 2014 at new year. I saw the documentary and it's great , really well put together. The whole exhibition is truly incredible and I got quite emotional when first entering it. A perfect tribute to Bruce that should be made permanent. I also have a book they put out to go alongside the exhibit.

I’ve been to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum 4 or 5 times and did see the documentary one time. Can’t remember much about it except that I enjoyed it and it had some interviews with people who knew and worked with Bruce in HK.

@@TheKungFuGenius Hi, mate. One of my subscribers messgaed Bey, Apparently Bey asked the about the documentary while speaking with Takkie Yeung a few years ago. The answer is the Heritage Museum hold the rights to the documentary. So while the exhibition continues it will not be released to the general public. 👍
Hi Kung Fu Genius. I have been in touch with Bey since my last post asking him about the documentary. He tells me that It seems the heritage museum has the sole rights to the documentary while the exhibition continues. My own thoughts are that this could change if and when the Bruce Lee exhibition ceases. And the rights possibly handed back to Takkie Yueng.

Congratulations! I believe Takkie Yeung has a gem in his hands. Blue Ray or DVD special edition with the 2 hour version and extra takes of the 70+ interviews he did. I would say a best seller. But who am I but someone who pay top dollar to purchase it.

I find it very strange that this doc was made in 2009!! and has not been released commercially or leaked somewhere 😉 as that is a very long time ago....unless it is a rights issue that is stopping being released? Would be cool to see this Stripey👍
