I used to get the 12 x 12 Absolute Black granite tiles at Lowe's for $4.98 each, then they stopped carrying them. They can be ordered now, but they're $176 for a case of 10. I made back the cost of my laser 10X with those tiles.
I got the last 2 boxes at my Lowes recently. Cut them down with a wet tile saw to 6x6. That way you get 4 blanks and the small ones make good pet memorials.
Thank you. I haven’t done any testing with diodes and these materials but generally I would say no. I know someone that has tried granite with a diode and it worked somewhat, but took forever. The bricks I would say no as well, these took a lot of power and I think they are meant for c02 lasers only.
Thanks for the inspiration. Your bricks did not come out as deep or as black as they appeared in the memorial sidewalks. Were they darker in person than they appeared in the video? Sometimes lighting does weird things. The dog came out amazing!
Question, did you ever get the likes for that video for the Laser engraving Machine? I know, it's been a short while, but I don't remember you saying that someone got that giveaway. Just curious, sorry if I shouldn't have brought it up. Love your content. I am watching videos about that and looking to give it a try and hopefully make a bit of money with one. Thanks again.
Nope haven’t given it away yet. We’re at 179 likes right now for the Woxcker L8 Max giveaway, just 21 likes away from the giveaway. If you’re reading this and you want a chance to win a free laser, go check out the video and give it a like!
@dwightbauer6705 it is not bad for the tube per se, at least not for a Thunder laser. But think of it like gas in your car. The faster you drive the sooner you’ll have to fill up your tank but the quicker to get to where you’re going. So yes, you will get more life on the tube by taking it easy. But as a business where I need to run jobs fast it’s a trade off I’m willing to accept in order to run faster, i.e. make more money.
