This is wonderful! Samara Joy is sooooooooooooooo😊ooooooooo goood!!!!! Everyone here is great but she is absolutely amazing. I hope I get to see perform live someday
Watched her last week, bought my ticket in May. Can’t describe how incredibly good she was. I sat about 7m away from her. 30-40sec after she started singing I was involuntarily weeping, don’t even know what the song was. Couldn’t believe the amazing sound/feeling she creates was being created in front of my eyes, plus she looks like she’s not doing anything special and has a calm & joyful vibe
This video certainly stands on its own without my commentary :) but I've heard this song a lot, and this is fresh. These two singers are each extremely talented but sing so well together, softly and gently, supported so well by these tasteful, listening musicians. The groove established by Mr. Cohen in his solo flowed into the rest of the song, influencing the singers also.
Saw Samara and her family perform in Ardmore PA last week. She is superb as are the rest of her family. Looking forward to seeing you in Philly soon Emmitt.
J. Hoard has great chops, but but their excesses turn me off. At 82, I hope to live long enough to hear a mature version. They remind me of Francis Faye, who I dug a lot and recorded live in the '70s. A great performer, with real jazz chops. One of my very favorite singers, Mark Murphy, was gay, but the only way it showed in his art was his great sensitivity. Samara, of course, is a delight, and it's a fine rhythm section.
