Assuming you desire wealth in the form of money, success is quite simple: successful people are willing to do the things others are not! You either get it or you don't.

The vast amount of rich people I know turned more arrogant as they made more money. I worked 15 years doing 80 to 100 hours a week, 7 days a week. and never once was I arrogant to people. I asked my team to do something and they just did it simply because they knew full well I was getting my hands dirty alongside them. Then I lost it all when I became seriously ill 7 years ago. Now that I'm on the road to recovery I'm starting it all over. To give up would be soul destroying for me, and I know I'm better than. Not saying it ain't hard but you have to take one step forward at a time.

I spent 45 years as a nobody! working for the man! i decided enough was enough! i now own a very successful business and bought my first Rolex Sub a few months ago! I worked my socks off, 7 days a week for nearly 3 years. So now am able to reward myself and my family when i can! Be passionate, positive and never be scared to ask the question!

1) Believe in yourself. Have self-belief. Study, practice, and do it. 2) Determination. Do not let anything get in the way or anyone discourage you. 3) Be positive. Positive to those around you whether friends/family/stranger on the street. 4) Never EVER give up. Failure only happens if you give up. Best advice ever! Producer Michael doesn't need to make RU-vid videos about his life. He probably doesn't get paid for making videos, but he continues to make these videos to inspire and teach. People who think he's showing of his luxuries, he's not. Everyone can do it, we just have to know our goals and achieve it.

I really like how he says that you can become successful with pretty much anything. My uncle was a plumber with a keen interest in science and egnineering, but too bad at maths to complete a degree. He worked as a plumber for a number of years and eventually ended up owning a business, including a young chap who was studying to become an engineer. My uncle had tons of great ideas, but lacked the means to realise them. The two of them quickly teamed up and started producing design after design of plumbing oriented stuff and they are both millionnaires now.

Success is easy. Don’t do what everyone else is doing. There is no 9-5 that will earn you a Rolls. There is no 9-5 that will build you a yacht. Don’t spend your energy making someone else rich, make yourself rich. Anyone can do it.

While that sounds nice and motivational, it can't be any farther from the truth. We often hear about those that succeed, but never from those that fail (and there's plenty that do). Success isn't easy, regardless of whether or not you do what everyone else is doing, and you'd be a fool to think otherwise. I'm not saying to not have a positive mindset, but rather that it's important to understand that success doesn't come easy. You'll need hard work, grit, drive, determination, and more to reach a financial point that levels above the majority. Believing that success is easy is never going to get you there.

Motivation
@giovanni9292
@giovanni9292 6 лет назад
Jayyessboii As Michael states, it’s all a matter of mentality. If you think it’s easy, it’s easy. If you live your life thinking success is difficult to achieve, you’re gonna have a hard time. Realistically and statistically, it might not be the simplest of tasks to accomplish. But when you don’t try and live the rest of your life 9-5, you really limit those odds. Failure is on every path to success. Don’t expect to grow without it.
@Jayyessboii
@Jayyessboii 6 лет назад
It is all a matter of mentality, but believing that success is EASY (where even you yourself admit that realistically and statistically it is not) is foolish. Just because you believe that it's easy, doesn't make it so. Believing that my calculus exam is going to be easy isn't going to magically make me pass with flying colors. Believing that I have, and will, get an A if I put in the work will. Don't expect success to come easy; that would be setting yourself up for failure. Instead, it's important to believe that what you'd like to achieve is entirely possible if you're willing to put in the effort. You're spewing out common motivational quotes like you've been brainwashed by society to do so. (example: "Failure is on every path to success" | "Don't expect to grow without it"). Think for yourself, don't absorb and regurgitate things you've heard.
@gfunkmoney06
@gfunkmoney06 6 лет назад
Another suggestion that will help on your journey through life: STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS. That leads to envy and jealousy and hate. Be the BEST YOU. That's it. BE BETTER THAN YOU WERE YESTERDAY. Keep challenging yourself. Don't sit there and rot to death. Everyone starts at different places in life. Life is extremely unfair. But everyone has a different destiny. You don't know what the other person's life is about. Focus on YOU. Focus on your own self improvement. Like Michael said, it can be a little thing. Insignificant to some, but meaningful TO YOU. That's what matters.

im retired, and for me the following has always been my way to succes: never use more than 40% of whats in your bank account, pay cash if possible. create a buffer-account, the account thats there if everything is going sour for a period, it might save you in hard times. Never say "no" to a new open door/opportunity. We all have different goals in life, and we measure our goals and succes differently. Succes is more than just money as Michael says, for me it was taking one step at a time, learning from my mistakes and use it positive further down the road. The aim was early retirement, and the goal has been reached. Great vlog Michael, i sure hope those who listens, pulls it thru..Godspeed!.

I dont have to prove anything to you or any one else, but one thing i am not, and thats a liar, all i written here is nothing but the truth, and i am sure i still will comment when i have something on my heart. I use my time in the winter on WoT, politics and other matters of importence, to me. plus Monday, Wednesday and Friday, i am at the gym first thing in the morning for two hours, no need to be a couchpotato. Heres an eye-opener for you: In our life, we let others know who we are by our job-title, our choice of job, since retiring i dont have that any more to fall back on, and therefor you as a person have to fill out your new amount of time with so many different things instead. I have no trouble with it, life is good, its what i made it to be and as i wanted it to be, so im quite fine. Im sorry to say, your statement is wrong, but...your entitled to it. I rest my case Jo Louie and thank you for your reply.

My sister has been feeling sad allmost her hole life. But My dad is thinking the same way as you. He had a Company, but he lost it in the financial crisis 07/08. He worked every day all the time. And the thanks for all that was cancer and the courtroom. But survived, and won the court. But We lost everyhing Also my childhood home he build himself. But after that and alot of things more. I finally finished my Education and Got a job. But i Got fired for 2 weeks Ago. I have been drinking alot and said to myself that i dont care about life anymore. And i was an failure. But, i will try the next week to studdy on one thing and set myself a goal. Not a goal for getting a Nice car and not to be a millionaire. Just a goal so i Can feel happy. Thanks

Wonderful guys! After 5yrs on my UK police pension I was (bored) ready to be creative with woodwork & cnc machines. My longtime passion. A big learning curve. I want to set up my own workshop as a hobby foremost, which may or may not become a business in the long run. Your video inspired me to approach a local woodwork shop and offer my labour free to them every mon, tue & wed for free for 6 months, so that I could gain some woodworking skills. They agreed.😁 I also approached a software company with the same terms for my Thursday & Friday time. 6 mths of my free time for me to learn.😁 So far these guys appreciate my enthusiasm and they are also benefiting from my free labour. I am learning so much and I am meeting so many great people. Nevermind any future success, this experience has given me a new lease of life! Michael & Adam; when I finally get my own hobby workshop I promise to make some little trinket for you both. You guys inspired me. Thank you both.

@derbigpr500

And even more delusional people who did watch this and who think they'll become rich and successful because they listened to a rich guy list the usual "become successful" cliches for 25 minutes which sound nice and attractive, but in reality mean nothing to you as a listener, even though you think they do while listening to it because it gives you hope. These videos are kinda like your parents telling you "it's gonna be fine, you'll do great" a night before a test you didn't study for at all. It's a very temporary feel-good message. I said this many times and I'll say it again, it's a harsh and a hard to accept fact, but If you need someone else to tell you how to become successful, you're already destined to fail. No.1 because nobody can teach you how to gain the necessary mentality, and No.2 because 99,99% of successful people will never give you ANY specific details of whatever got them to become successful themselves, because that way they'd create competition and have you eat our of their cake, whatever it is they do, any form of business, entertainment industry, irrelevant. NOBODY will tell you their secret and teach you how to live in a 20 million dollar house and drive a 1 million dollar car. Don't expect life changing advice, don't buy books, dvd's, various "become rich" online programs or guides. Find something you're good enough at and that you CAN use to become successful. However...a rough piece of reality again: most people can't find anything they are good enough at to become successful and rich, because most people aren't good enough at something to be able to become rich by doing it because the competition out there is too fierce. It's not enough to be decent at something anymore, you have to be exceptional at it to even have a theoretical chance of becoming rich and successful, and no matter what your parents lied to you, no matter how many times someone told you "you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it", the harsh reality is that you most likely can't. It's one of the biggest lies and worst things you can do to anyone, telling them they can achieve anything they want, because in the vast majority of cases they won't be able to.

Hi Michael and Adam, My name is Mark and I live in the southern outskirts of Brisbane Australia. I don’t get to go out much as since dad passed away from cancer some 4 odd years ago I have had to give up my life to care for my aging mum. It’s an honor to be able to give back to her in her years of need. Anyway, a few days ago I first stumbled across your RU-vid channel while I was looking at watch videos. I love high end watches and high end cars and when I found your videos I was in heaven. Being on a carers pension at the age of 50 and trying to make mums last years as comfortable as I can means I will probably never get the chance to turn either of those two passions into a reality but hey that’s ok because I know A: looking after mum and making her smile and seeing that is the best kind of reward anyone could ever receive, and B: I have the good fortune of being able to get the chance to live my dream precariously through watching your videos. I do hope to be able to own a real Rolex Submariner one day but even if I don’t at least I have your videos to watch and keep me up to date with the best cars and the best watches around. I’m subscribed to your channel and notifications ticked so keep up the great content and I look forward to seeing more of yours and Adams great videos. Cheers, Mark

By far the most legit and realistic mindset I've ever heard directly from a wealthy individual like yourself. I normally don't find such "speeches" inspirational, but I find yours quite compelling due to how you've found a way to integrate the mindset even into someone in a less-than-perfect situation (like your bucket/soap water example). Not sure how I came across your channel, but I'm glad I did, oddly enough. Would love to pick your brain sometime on some things that I'm sure you have insight on (and i'm sure vice versa).

I love Michael's advice. Id like to give some of my own which is geared toward young people who are interested in entrepreneurship. I detest the entire mantra of yesterdays economy where a college degree determined your status and job prospects. Id first like to say that I graduated from one of the best public universities in the US- and either the first or second best public university for the degree I got. I dont say that to brag, but more so to show that I am not talking ill of college due to not being able to get in to one, nor am I considering myself to be on par with one of the people I will later mention. Going to college was about the second worst decision I have ever made- mostly because I knew what I wanted to do when I was 16 years old, and it didnt require college, and I was pushed into going by my parents who felt that since I got in to a good school I should go because that is what society said to do. I could do everything I am doing now without a degree and I would have started doing it 4.5 years earlier had I forgone university. I got bored, depressed due to a relationship falling apart, and developed a nasty drug and booze habit that took a year to kick in college, and thats about all I got out of it- all because I should have never been their in the first place. I think that some of the smartest people are the folks who didnt have the ability to go to college but were successful regardless. Let me rephrase that: It isnt that I feel that people who go to college are unintelligent for doing so- often times they are pushed into it because society says that is what you do after high school- my belief is that the smartest people I can think of all dropped out of college after realizing how pointless it was to their future. This isnt giving up- It is actually a key part of entrepreneurship which is knowing when to strategically end something that isnt working or wont pan out without injecting emotion or outside biases. I think a lot of smart people usually realize in their second semester of sophomore year, and certainly by junior year that the entire thing is a scam. Freshman year is basically just a rerun of high school since you dont have a major declared yet. Sophomore year you may still be on board with the entire scam and have not realized it to be one yet, but by junior year if you are smart, you will realize a lot of your professors and the classes they teach are complete BS and what you have spent the last 2 years doing is just a waste. Like any scam you want the people being scammed to be so far into it before they know so that they basically emotionally invested enough to want to continue on with the scam. The smartest people, at least if they want to be entrepreneurs, realize that right then and there they need to cut the loss and drop out. That is what Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Ted Turner, David Geffen, Ralph Lauren, Michael Dell, and Sergey Brin did, and guess what... they all billionaires who dropped out of college after realizing they didnt need some piece of paper on the wall or to waste any more time learning from professors who had a lower drive and IQ then they did. I could do everything that I am doing now as far as my business goes having taken only 21 of the roughly 130 credits that I took. That means at least 80% of the classes I took were a complete waste of my time. The professors of these classes were low IQ and annoyed me because I knew that what they were teaching was required for me to graduate but had almost nothing to do with what my major was. If I am a finance major why do I have to take health, or history, or literature, or sociology, or housing, or physical education (I could go on but I wont). There are literally thousands of multi millionaires who didnt go to college. There are actually a few billionaires who didnt even graduate high school, although I am not advocating dropping out of high school as we do need a sort of common knowledge base in order to have a society that isnt full of no nothings. Henry Ford, Richard Branson, Walt Disney... billionaires, and high school dropouts. In some ways a college degree is counter intuitive to success as an entrepreneur, as colleges no longer teach you how to think, but more so what to think. They are little factories that pop out robots who almost all think the same thoughts. You dont need a college degree to have an idea and implement it. And I am talking about Good/top schools. The bottom tier schools (lets say below number 100 on Forbes list of top colleges) are entirely scams. There is no reason for you to be going to lets say, western Kentucky Community College (I dont know if this is a real school I am just making a point so dont get all mad at me please). These schools pop up to cater to the people who couldnt get into a decent college, but still want a degree. Let me tell you.. if you didnt get in to a decent college, a degree from a bad school is more of a waste of time than almost anything I could think of. Literally sitting in your moms basement playing video games would have been a better use of your time, because hey at least you didnt pay 100k to think you are smart only to be let down when you are waiting tables at the Applebees your parents used to take you to 5 years later, still living in your childhood bedroom because you cant afford rent and your college loan payments. My dad told me two pieces of advice when I was very young, very simple advice that I took to heart- 1. if you dont use drugs, get married before you have children, and graduate highschool you will be successful, or at least not poor. 2. All you need in America is a great idea and the drive to implement it. You dont need money, you just need the drive to find investors(or other means of raising capital). You dont need every single skillset, just the character to surround yourself with people who have the skill sets you need (these are called employees or strategic partners). You dont need an endless rolodex of powerful connections, you just need the character to develop relationships. And You dont need a piece of paper that shows that you spent years and years in a classroom learning something that you could have learned in a quarter of the time and a tenth of the expense. Often times a degree, especially the ones from top universities, produce people with smug entitled attitudes, and attitude is the main thing that drives success. Now, I am mainly talking to entrepreneurs... college is perfectly fine if you lets say.. want to become a doctor or engineer.. but this is mainly because society wants to make sure people are qualified to provide the services such as major surgery or building the bridges we drive over and skyscrapers we live and work in. People who study History, or Literature, or basically any of the humanities are completely wasting their time. I dont care if you went to Harvard and got a PHD in one of these studies, all that means to me as a potential employer is you have a poor judgement of what constitutes time management as well as parents who didnt steer you in the right direction. Unfortunately, college has become a prerequisite to getting any sort of decent paying white collar job, but if you dont want a job, and you prefer to work for yourself, then start your own company with the 6 figures you would have spent on college is the best advice I could give to a young person with a bright mind and the right spirit. If you want to go and make 40-60k a year in some corporation that couldnt give a crap about you and get a 5% raise every year until you turn 65 and then have maybe a million bucks to live off of, then go to college. If you want to go without pay for 2-3 years, work your ass off for 80-100 hours a week, age 50% quicker than every one else, potentially go broke, and 5-10 years down the road if it all works out be making a few million bucks a year then start your own business and dont give up. Some people choose the first choice and that is fine and dandy as success means different things to many people and entrepreneurship isnt for everyone- but it is the only way to actually make real money (above single digit millionaire) in our market based economy outside of hitting the lottery, or being a famous actor, singer, or athlete which is basically not going to happen to 99.99% of people. Some people would rather have a family and never make more than 100k at the peak of their career having just enough to provide a decent lifestyle to your family and just live a normal life- and that is perfectly fine.. However, you cant take that route and then claim that the people who risked it all creating a business, and in turn the jobs you work, at are some how taking advantage of everyone else or not paying their fair share or are somehow bad people who need to be taxed to death, because the truth is anyone can take the entrepreneur route and be successful, and even more true is that many of those people who try will not make it which is also a main reason why many people never try, but is likewise a reason we must reward this somewhat crazy choice of entrepreneurship .- and yes some people get lucky- although luck is merely preparation meeting opportunity.
@matthewwolf3531

@@neb4587 First off- My entire post was very long so maybe you didnt read it all. But I did say clearly that entreprenuership isnt for everyone, just like college isnt for everyone. I in no way said that it is easy to be an entreprenuer, I only stated that you dont need to be independently wealthy before starting a company, nor do you need to have an enormous amount of connections. I basically was just saying that if you have a good idea, a good plan, really give it your all, and with a little luck, anyone can be a successful entreprenuer without any formal education. Second off- 150 million people (60%) in the US currently did not go to Universities, and the vast majority of them are doing just fine. Only 550 thousand are currently homeless, and they are almost entirely drug addicted, alcoholics, or have a mental disorder... It has nothing to do with college. I have no issue with the top people going to Universities- they should be. Thats the way it should be, and is the way higher education has worked since it was started many centuries ago. The new phenomenon is that many influencers in young folks lives are pushing for EVERYONE to go to colleges. College used to be a way for the top tier students to develop further cognitively in order to go into the fields that require this extra knowlege, but it has as of recently become a place where everyone "needs to go to or they will be homeless", and due to this increased demand the supply has rapidly increased in quantity, but not in quality. We cant all have high paying jobs that require degrees, so the top employers are now looking more at where the applicant went to school, and what degree they achieved, rather than simply if the applicant has a degree or not. The top employers can only recruit from so many schools, and they use academic rankings in order to choose which they set up booths to recruit. I can best explain this by using my own school as an example. The University I graduated from is currently ranked 50th by US news and world report. It is a solid ranking, but not amazing. Many great employers recruit from the school, but not the VERY best. Still I feel it was worth going to for many students in order to have access to these employers and gain knowlege to go into a successful career. The problem is that there is 1200 some odd universities in this country, and after about ranking 100 or 150 or so , you dont get great employers recruiting, once you get below a certain threshold, no body wants to recruit, it is essentially the same as having a highschool diploma. In order to get into the school I went to you have to have SAT scores and GPA in the top 3-5% of the class. The botton tier kids who are in the bottom 40% for example, have zero shot at getting in. They probably have zero shot at getting in to even a 500 ranked school- the kind where no employers look to recruit from. Why go to a college that all but guarantees you will not have any better job prospects than if you didnt go at all? This is why I think the lie that you need a degree is problematic, and why the bottom tier schools are all scams. Furthermore, and this applies to even top schools like Yale and Princeton, It matters what you study as a major. The whole point of going to college in the past was to get a meaningful degree that will directly lead to a career that MAKES MONEY. Increasingly the degrees being added to the Universities read more like political activist classes rather than career paths. Unless you study something related to business, law, medicine, or STEM your degree is competely worthless regardless of where you went to school. A 17th century Literature degree from Shaw Univeristy just means that you not only couldnt get into a decent college, but you also dont even have the brainpower to choose a major that is relevant to making money. There simply isnt a market for the knowlege that these liberal arts/ humanities degrees produce. The only way that you can make money off this is teaching other people (suckers) the same material you just learned! This is essentially a ponzi scheme ( once you run out of suckers to pay 60k to learn you underwater basket weaving you no longer have an income). The thing that powers this scam is the federal student loans. If a private company was lending the money to obtain these degrees the underwriters would ensure that the money being lended would be able to be paid back by the skills being obtained. If we did away with federal subsidized student loans we would normalize the market, meaning about half the majors and 90 % of the universities would go belly up within the next 3 years. AS they should, as they should....

Thank you ProducerMichael. I have been working for other people for 25 years and all it has gotten me is further and further in debt and each day just that much closer to death. This video gives me the inspiration to continue my efforts in learning programming (I'm learning C++). I don't have any lofty goals of wanting new cars or fancy houses, I just want to live and survive my fight against Neurofibromatosis type 2. I would love to build programs that help people and provide a way for other people with rare conditions to also benefit. Your advice on this video is so spot on. I'm great at what I currently do but honestly, I'm not happy doing it. I think a lot of folks can benefit from just placing themselves in the right mindset to succeed. Instead of focusing on the negative of there lives, they need to focus on positive thoughts and keep their goal in mind. If you wake up every day and start thinking about all the bad things that happened to you and all the bad things that are waiting for you, you end up having a pretty rotten day. If you start the day thinking about and visualizing yourself feeling good and enjoying life it will start to manifest itself. Then one day you will wake up being that new you. I can proudly say someday I will no longer have tumors because I believe I can overcome it. I simply believe that a new me tumor-free is the guy I will wake up and be. The mind is a powerful thing, I have already had a reduction in the size of the tumors in my brain because I keep believing they are smaller. As of my last ENT doctor visit the two small tumors in my left ear are gone.

A good detailed video of what you did and what some of the key turning points have been. I find you a very interesting person and I am always interested in what people of success do.

Hello Micheal, Everything you have said on this video is bang on! I started off with hardly no money at all, in fact just £25 to my name. I found an old dog kennel over the tip, it needed a new roof and a bit of tidying up but after a few hours I had her looking as good as new and sold it for £50! With the £50 I went out a bought a second hand shed for £20. It again needed tidying up but after a bit of tender love and care, oh and a bit of felt for the roof, she was sold for £120. So with the £120 I built a luxury dog kennel. It was made of solid pine and had brass hinges on the door. I wrote DOG over the entrance (I would have wrote DOGGY but I ran out of red paint) and I varnished the wood. I sold that £300...……..shortly after that my nan died and left me 14 million pound so I thought Fuck the sheds!!!

luck is always a factor really. and i hate how people lie about it or try to push it off. how is it not luck that you or anybody hasnt been driven over by a car, developed brain cancer, was born with an iq of 50 and so on? “Understanding that you can’t truly take credit for your successes, nor truly blame others for their failures will humble you and make you more compassionate." - Tim Minchin, put it pretty well together

Luck plays a factor for sure.. but it's not everything. You have to put yourself in a position to receive the "luck". If I start a business and get "lucky" in developing a good product, then I have positioned myself in a way for "luck" to happen to me. The guy sitting on his couch eating chips complaining about how I got "lucky" has nobody but himself to blame for that "luck" not happening to him.

Luck is nice but don't depend on it, most self made people didn't have much luck in the beginning, later on once you keep persevering it starts showing up more and more

Don’t work somewhere just for money. Find your passion,after 15 years you’ll master it and be Rich beyond financially rich you’ll be Rich mentally Money won’t make you happy but it will give you more freedom. I’ve worked 20 years, many jobs I didn’t like, many failures, but I’m on my way, every year is better, live life like todays your last day, treat people well, create and learn, and you will be successful

If you are talking about accumulating wealth, the reality is the occupation does matter, and some jobs are not likable but must be performed for society to run efficiently.

True, but you will always have people that do those jobs. What this guy is saying is that anyone can earn a substansual ammount of money if they put the work in. Nothing comes free.

I've came across this channel about 3 days ago and have binge watched. This video has been such an inspiration to me... I'm 20 years young from a small island called Malta and a year ago i've launched the world's first Maltese make-up brand which has been picked up by the manufacturers that handle BIG brands like Chanel, Dior, Fendi ecc ecc... I started from nothing and I'm still grinding to grow the brand but It's all in the mindset and that's the best advice there is! Hope we cross paths one day, would love to have a chat! Keep the video's coming ! ☺️

If you are always negative you will never succeed, if you feel sorry for yourself and always make excuses you will never succeed! I always listened to people like Michael, because people like him are full of knowledge and something can always be learned from someone like him! By listening to people like Michael, I was able to retire at 54, I and my wife are now comfortable in retirement.

Hi Muchael and Adam. I'm from Kingston, Jamaica and I recently stumbled across your RU-vid videos by chance and now I'm hooked. I recommend it to my close friends and family. I'm hooked because you're different - and different in a inspirational and "real" way. Humble, genuine, down to earth and all coming from someone on top of their game coming from "nothing". (And very funnt too) No Golden Spoon. It's refreshing because people need any pinpointers in life sometimes to help cope or get thru it and I get that with you. For me, just your humility, achieving what you have how you have and well mannered way and genuine interest in people is huge inspiration. I own a unique, first ever in Jamaica business and am successful in it. I never want to stop improving, always want to help and never ever stop being grateful that it helps people and I can live from it. I wrote down bullet points from the above video and put them on my office wall for continued reminders. You guys would appreciate the business being dog lovers (I know Adam you like big Mutts) - I own a pet cremation service and my wealth is being so happy in what I do. Thank you for doing what you do and as we say here, RESPECT!

The main thing I hear from successful people is that they say no matter what job your are doing, be the best at it. And don't be negative or jealous of others. Always good advice. Just landed on ProducerMichael's page and this is great!
