I think it's pretty cheeky for people to be critiquing your position when you are jumping that height on a pony of Bear's size. I am always thoroughly impressed as your position is pretty balanced and solid. But those stirrup leathers do seem to make it even more solid! Love that Bear! She's super cool in every way and she even sticks up for Hobbit! Have you ever had an anima communicator speak to your horses? I know it sounds super flaky, but if you get a good one it can be super cool!

I think Bear is a nauty pony because of the saddle. If u watch the saddle when you trot, u can see, when you rise, the saddle comes up at the back too. So that means when u sit, the saddle is slammming down a-little on Bears back, so it gives her back ache. x

Thanks for the vlog. Bear is just gorgeous. There was definitely a difference between the 2 stirrup leathers. You obviously felt the difference and it positively changed your position using the Pavins product. I think you underestimate your talent at times. When you rode Holly's horses you were fantastic & incredibly brave. Also, you produced an incredible pony in Bear - she is gorgeous because of your talent and hard work. They made a great difference! I wonder if a more forward / longer flap on the saddle might also help with accommodating your legs? Changing the flap length/shape hugely helped a friend of mine with her leg stability while jumping. Though maybe you are limited there with the size of your ponies? Not sure... :)

Not very long are they.. do they have different length sizes? I always giggle when you ride the small ponies as being so tall makes your knees virtually over the front of the knee rolls!! When you brought the new leathers down 2 holes it made such a difference to your posture & position over the jump. In the old ones you become rather round shoulders. In the new set up you look great 😃 . I'm 5' & my mum used to say that she never ever had to write a 'Sadly outgrown advert for me!!!! At 18 I still comfortably rode my 13.2 😆

I bought a saddle from my trainer, and its my first saddle ever! I am rewatching this video because since I got a saddle now i want to get these stirrup leathers for it. I mentioned buying to my trainer and she said she's also been curious about it and so my next lesson me and her are gonna talk about it 😂

I will say, I have wide stirrup leathers, they are ovation brand but made exactly the same, here in the states we have three brands that make them, they are also dressage and eventing legal. I got mine originally because of joint problems, I have a solid leg but figured that couldn't hurt either. I do love them. Comfortable, fit well, low profile. The only this I will say about your is the wide part ends much earlier than mine, for me I'm the same height as you and the wise part goes almost to the bottom where my stirrups hang, so it can hug your lower leg too. Would be interested to see the measurement difference in that part. But I recommend these to people for sure. With bad knees and ankles, and fracturing my leg this year, I have no pain riding. I also invested in mdc stirrups too though which really worked.

Mine I got from Total Saddle Fit- their wide part is more like what you describe than Meg’s pair. I love them.

If you were to ride in these leathers for, say 6 months, would your leg position be better in other leathers? Completely random question just something that occured to me during the video! Give Bear a kiss from me xx

Ohhh that’s an interesting one, I expect it would improve in other leathers but I think it would always be best in the wide ones! Xx

I really love this horse at my barn I wish he was mine. He is very shy and skittish, on day I had a lesson and he bucked his rider off. I was calm and was still then he walked over to me so nice and calmly. He laid his head on my knee, I felt so important in that moment. I fell in love with him. Is it weird I think he did that to help me learn more about him and ride him one day? I felt/feel it is my destiny.
