Did you only listen to the first sentence? So many things -- there are more Js in Israel expelled from ME countries. Only 25% of the pop descend from Europe. THEN are you saying the .25M DPs who weren't allowed into any country in the West shouldn't have gone where they could get to?

One is a compassionate asylum policy which I am in favour of and many Zionists are against particularly in relation to migrants from Muslim-majority countries. You are also overstating the expulsions of Jews from Muslim majority countries where many chose to leave or violence grew out of the formation of Israel. The idea that Muslims can't live with Jews is ahistorical nonsense and many of these countries were the first to provide refuge as European antisemitism grew rampant. The second is whether a genocide on the scale of the Holocaust gives the right of Jews from all over the world an infinite right to displace the Palestinians, millions of whom remain excluded and now exterminated. This is morally reprehensible. Pointing to a policy of not allowing Jews in Canada at some point in history is no defense of the current occupation and genocide of the Palestinian people.

How am I supposed to understand that there are 2 agencies for refugees - 1 for the Palestinians and 1 for the world’s remaining refugees? How am I supposed to understand that only Palestinians can pass refugee status from generation to generation and no other refugee can do that? How am I supposed to understand that UNRWA was supposed to be a temporary agency and is now almost 80 years old when UNKRA - the temporary UN agency for refugees from the Korean War resettled 3M Korean refugees within 2 years after the war and a fraction of the budget? How am I supposed to understand that someone born in Jordan, a Jordanian citizen is a Palestinian refugee? Or a fifth generation Gazan or West Bank resident is a refugee when they already live in Palestine? Show me any Palestinian that is as critical of his own leadership as Haviv? You are exactly what Haviv describes - incurious. Try listening to Haviv or Einat Wilf on YT for history.
